XH 296 - Our Creator is always fair

The news of the purifying water no longer worked was quick to spread around the army base. It also reached Bai Chuan and Yu Zheng's ears.

While his hands were still tending a patient, Doctor Bai side-glanced at the white Rubik cube floating beside him. His eyes were especially meaningful to the system.

"Xiao Hua's tea no longer works?" The Rubik Cube was surprised as well and refreshed its mailbox in its database, which was regretfully nothing new. "I don't know!"

"... Yu Zheng," Bai Chuan called out, only to be denied by his lover.

"I will take care of the patients. Go to your daughter."

The wounded soldier tended by Yu Zheng became dejected hearing that. He had hoped to have his doctor switched to the gentle Doctor Bai that would take care of his wounds kindly. Gazing at his brother comrade currently being tended carefully by Doctor Bai, the poor soldier could only silently look on with deep envy!

"But-"

"You are better in heart to heart words than me."

Bai Chuan would have snorted in disbelief and broke his character guideline if there were no patients in the tent. If Yu Zheng sucked at that, what about those cheesy, heart-melting words that were said to him during his unending determination of courtship?

Baidu engine search guide?

And did Yu Zheng think he was deaf when he boasted about his successful achievement to their adopted daughter without much filter? He even suggested ideas to help Xiao Hua in improving her romantic relationship!

However, it was because of Yu Zheng's unfiltered mouth that allowed Xiao Hua to easily speak to Yu Zheng without reserve instead of with Bai Chuan.

"Doctor Bai, is it true that the Third Princess Consort is your adopted daughter?" A wounded soldier that was resting in the same tent asked.

Even if it was not the right time to entertain rumours, Bai Chuan had to follow his character guideline. He answered with a fatherly pride smile, but his eyes held hints of worry. "Yes, she is."

The soldier that asked the question suddenly lowered his volume until it was a soft whisper. "I... I know that the princess consort brewed the special medicine that could purify the demon's attacks. I was there that night."

The soldier bowed to Doctor Bai with red eyes. "A mere soldier like me could never be graced a chance to speak to the princess consort and could only give my thanks to Doctor Bai to pass on to her on my behalf."

Another soldier in the tent followed his comrade and offered Bai Chuan a low bow. "I'm thankful to the princess consort's gracious aid."

A soldier that was lying down from a heavy wound but was still conscious smiled up at Bai Chuan. "Doctor Bai, please go to Princess Consort. Although we are not clear of the situation, we knew that a parent should be with their child when they are in trouble. No need to not worry about us."

The soldier that Yu Zheng was currently treating laughed out loud. "Doctor Yu is doing well- Ouch!" He gave Yi Zheng a pained gaze. Just when he tried to trust him, the devil doctor betrayed him!

He wants Doctor Bai!

"Done. Leave and call the next one in," Yu Zheng said indifferently, but glanced sideways at Bai Chuan as if asking why he was still here.

Bai Chuan's mouth curved upwards. If everyone was giving him an excuse to go to his daughter, he would be a fool not to take it. "I will have to trouble you, Doctor Yu."

Yu Zheng gave Bai Chuan a smile before dropping a bomb in the tent. "Xiao Hua is our daughter, how is that trouble? Such matters should be left for my kind wife to handle."

Bai Chuan's eye twitched as he maintained his smile, thinking that his lover must be itching for a beating!

The soldiers were much quicker in the uptake compared to other people, due to them living in the barracks and shared improper jokes between brotherhood that involves homosexuality.

But Bai Chuan did not curb the start of the rumour of him and Yu Zheng being a cut sleeve couple. In the future, he retaliated by adding and twisting the rumour, saying that Yu Zheng was the one that relentlessly courted Doctor Bai, who finally relented to stop the harassment.

Fortunately, his character, Doctor Bai, has a background that only he himself knows, so he was not punished for being OOC for being homosexual.

Letting his system act as GPS, Bai Chuan coincidentally bumped into a walking gold, Liang Shan. Thankfully, he stopped radiating the intensely bright light, but his hair shimmered like a golden silk curtain, attracting many people's attention.

Bai Chuan wondered if his daughter would ask for a few strands of his gold hair if she does not have colour-blind.

"Yellow Dragon," Bai Chuan greeted respectfully as Liang Shan scrutinized him curiously.

You are a strange soul, bound by a heavy contract that I could not interfere with.

Bai Chuan smiled wryly. If Yellow Dragon could indeed terminate the contract between him and the Debugging Department, he would not be allowed to meet the Celestial Beast. The department will never let him go until he has gathered enough points to redeem himself.

But Yellow Dragon still surprised Bai Chuan and the system to be able to notice the contract bound to his soul. None of the God in the worlds he had entered had ever noticed it.

"I agreed to the contract willingly."

Liang Shan shook his head lightly, feeling a little regretful for Doctor Bai, but did not say anything. If this soul agreed to be bound willingly, it would be useless even if he interfered.

Both of them silently walked to Xiao Hua's brewing tent, strangely able to identify each other's destination without asking.

When they arrived at Xiao Hua's tent, they found it deserted, with only Xiao Hua and her personal guards in it. Beside her were the buckets filled with tea that was left alone. The rumour going around about the purifying water no longer work... seems to be the truth.

"Honorable Father-" Xiao Hua's polite greeting for Bai Chuan halted when she saw the next person that slipped into the tent.

What the hell? That long silky, golden hair that was even better looking than Rapunzel's grabbed her attention effortlessly. Aside from that, Xiao Hua was so shocked that her heart nearly underwent spasm when she noticed she could see the colour version of Liang Shan!

Fuck! If she did not know any better, she would believe this was the fated encounter between the male and female lead and start a new chapter in romance!

Bai Hua Liang Shan greeted her, his gaze like a wise elder. If he was the old Liang Shan, he would respectfully call her by her title. But now that he remembered his noble identity, just calling her by her name was already great respect to her.

"Hello, Yellow Dragon," Xiao Hua greeted. His current look was exactly the same as her boss' financial advisor, whom she had believed to be a mixed-blood of Asian and Westerner.

Now that I'm free from restriction, I can see why you are special, Child of Destiny.

Xiao Hua immediately gave Liang Shan a disturbed look. "... Please do not call me that. It's alright to call me Bai Hua."

Child of Destiny? That must be the work of the World Spirit.

Liang Shan blinked. I will remember.

"Thank you. Did both of you come here because of my tea?" Xiao Hua asked with a polite smile. Seeing Doctor Bai's concerned gaze, her smile became a little genuine. "Don't worry. There is another source of the tea, which Long Zhu and others are securing to purify the infected area."

Our Creator is always fair in making decisions.

Xiao Hua's pupils shook from the sentence, before asking in surprise, "You can talk to the World Spirit?"

World Spirit? I'm unsure if they are the same, but our Creator is the one that built our world. I can sometimes hear our Creator's voice.

"... Right. So did your Creator... say anything about taking back the gift bestowed to me?"

Liang Shan shook his head. No. But I know our Creator will not do that without a reason.

"... Got it. Is that the only reason why you come to see me?" Xiao Hua was smiling but it was not exactly friendly. She understands that the World Spirit would take away the gift it gave her within reason, but that does not mean she was not hurt by it.

She was also a little irked that her husband was not here but sent his sister to speak to her. The loss of her tea brewing was not as terrible as her eyesight, but it was still a loss.

Why was it that the small wounds, such as paper cuts, would always be more painful than bigger wounds?

And now someone was here, rubbing salt onto her wound. Do they still expect her to maintain a pleasant face?
