The life of a cape isn't an easy one. Being transgender on top of that doesn't make that any easier. Without anywhere else to go after being pushed out of her home, Violet tracks down her estranged mother. A woman who has had more than ten years to change and live her life since leaving her family behind. A woman who has plenty of her own problems and secrets without taking on anothers. Still, she can't find it in herself to turn away the younger woman who might have been her daughter had things been different.
As the two of them navigate their own messy lives, managing their relationship alongside their secrets, what will they learn about each other? When their lives become hopelessly intertwined with one another, will they mend their relationship and choose to be a mother and daughter once more? Or will the secrets they keep break the fragile peace that's momentarily formed between them?
(Story is vaguely Worm related in that it borrows setting elements. No planned canon worm characters, but I won't discount the possibility of them showing up if I feel like it. This story will be a little heavier than my normal fare, so there may be some more intense themes, especially when it comes to some of the Capes and their powers.)
