      Status: chapter 24/re-edited after finishing

My initial impression of this was that it was a light-hearted comedy with little to no drama. That impression still stands.

First off, the characters. 4.8 stars for that. They're written rather well and it's not hard to empathize with some of them. The only slight issue I have is Sollar, it feels like she does grow over the series even a little bit (she doesn't make the same mistakes) but the author still treats her the same way as from the start. Writing is also rather good, descriptions are useful and there's little to no grammar mistakes. Story... 4.5. This story is like black comedy, in the sense that not everyone gets it. Maybe it's funny to someone else, but it was more slice of life than comedy to me. The premise of these kinds of stories also usually demands there be some drama, which there is not really any of. There is no politics, there are no nobles, no bandits, no war crimes, etc. The focus of the story is all in the summary, and there are no third party actors with some kind of overarching scheme.

There's only two remaining issues I have with this, but overall, pretty well written. Would not read again (because what makes me happy is much more sinister and evil than this) , but it was alright.

      The two reasons (spoilers) :

      Spoiler

Issue 1: General Seis helps clean up the mess at the end despite barely having any appearances in the story before-- or at least, any appearances where it's confirmed her.

Issue 2: Ronn's reason for stopping his rampage are also not very prominent either. Perhaps a smarter individual could pick up on the signs, but I couldn't. It's just very out of character for him to stop attacking Sollar simply because she reminds him of his kid.

      character summary (spoilers) stuff:

      Spoiler

Sollar: A kid with the mentality of a 5 year old child. Language is somehow better than math. Cannot understand figurative language. Intelligence 10, Endurance 1000, + indestructible shovel that can cut through anything non living. Doesn't like being told no or called things that aren't "Sollar"

      • I don't recall if her age is mentioned.

General Forge: a tired adult who treats Sollar with respect since she's basically royalty and her brother (imprisoned) is his boss. Tends to forget she has room temperature IQ and overthinks things sometimes, probably due to stress.

Ronn (C1 is weird but the hero is a dude) : The hero and main villain. Has massive tunnel vision. Ends justify the means kind of person. They'd destroy the world first if it meant they  could take down the demon lord. When it comes to the demon lord, they're always right and anything they've done is for the greater good. He can get away with anything he does because he's the hero. No one stops him because who would stop the hero?

Junil: healer that travels with the hero. Kind of like general forge in the sense that she's often stressed out and angry at what the hero does. Kind of also just the slapstick comedy character that gets beat up a lot. Survives a lot of things most people would not.

Other characters are kind of just there to advance story/side quests.
