Huge fan of the series. Hard to find a series were you do not have a beta male protagonist.

First off,   I want to say I'm giving this 5 stars even if I sound harsh with some of my review.

Up to chapter 17, this would have been a 2/5, because honestly,   I felt like I was reading a cultivation novel and not a DC novel and that killed any enjoyment. Up to chapter 17 is the first arc, and it only has 1 small scene with a named DC character,   everything else was in Macau for the setting. You have gangs named Heavenly Phoenix, you have young master,   you have all Chinese names, you have chi/ki powers,   no justice league or anything in sight.  It was very difficult to get through cause I just had no idea how long this was going to last,   like I said,   felt like a cultivation novel.

Chapter 18 starts Arc 2 and the canon of DC, and frankly it was amazing and fun.  Up to chapter 25 I have enjoyed the MC interaction with the dc heroes and villains alot,   just wished it didn't take so long to get it.  I could have easily rated this novel lower,   but the potential and the awesome stuff from chapter 18+ makes up for it.

Wish there was a warning or something about the first arc being a prologue, or maybe even start the series off with chapter 18 first to show what we're getting into.

This is a very well-written novel. I don't know much about DC tbh so I can't call out anything strange either.

My rather big issue with the novel is the main character's powers. He has just about the most OP power imaginable, being literally just reality manipulation, with the only limiting factor being the number of souls he has "collected".

Despite this, he does remarkably little soul collection lmao. I could name a million ways to more efficiently make use of his power but that's beside the point. Even if the author made the MC do every suggestion I had, It still wouldn't really work cause there's always a better way to do things. This kinda just ruins any kind of tension in the novel cause any potential enemies should just be crushed instantly assuming they don't have similar powers.

Even so, I find myself enjoying the novel. It's incredibly well written and flows wonderfully. I can enjoy it without thinking too deep about everything.
