Being a student at one of the top music conservatories in the world can be extremely stressful, especially when everyone seems far more talented than you. Unable to handle the overwhelming academic pressure and the cutthroat competition, Ilani Cho forfeits his scholarship and takes a "leave of absence" from the Juilliard School of Performing Arts.
As an insecure (and weird) 21-year-old with various other problems, Ilani must spend the year struggling to figure out himself and his uncertain future. However, living in New York City is expensive, and his meager savings are rapidly burning up. In order afford his apartment rent, a friend advises him to supplement his income by becoming a streamer and singing karaoke on virtual reality... but his digital avatar is a girl?
This is a story of a genderfluid (nonbinary) cinnamon bun who dives into the world of online idols and Vtubers.
