Novel is about interstellar exploration and a well-known commander going on the very first voyage to space that would take years for them to come back to earth. The MC and the Love interests dynamic is written well, and secrets that are kept between them are resolved through proper communication. Therefore, there isn't stupid drama. 

While the story is focused on exploring the universe and finding alien life and trying to navigate around the politics which affects it, it also focuses on the romance, which I greatly appreciate. I've been looking for Action romance sort of GL novels and this was just the perfect read.

Extremely cute and wholesome space opera, in the style of old Star Trek, most closely resembling TNG, though with very slightly more military focus.

As the title says, the principal focus is the romantic relationship of the two leads and we get a lot of utterly adorable fluff out of it.

There are hints of a larger plot that might presumably become relevant at some future point, but to date, the emphasis has been firmly kept on the protagonists and their connection.

There are adventures in space, including exploration and some fighting, but the overall tone is happy, optimistic, and cosy.

It's a relaxing read, like wrapping yourself up in a blanket with a cup of tea. Delightful escapism in the best sense of the word.

A cute romance story packaged in mix of Sci-Fi action and slice of life dress, with a diverse cast of interesting side characters and a blessed lack of drama for the sake of drama. 

The story follows the journey of the vessel pioneering space exploration beyond Earth's solar system through the PoVs of her Captain and XO as well as their burgeoning relationship.
