While searching for people to help their father around the farm before the Harvest Festival, Arven, Sylfinas, and Merrick encounter a Fenri named Kaera that is far away from her home because of an evil organization. They agree to return her to her homeland for various reasons after freeing her. For Arven, it means gaining additional experience in combat to aid him in following the footsteps of his brother and join the Ebony Legion, an elite military group of Adoran. For Sylfinas, it means to finally witness more parts of the world and ingest in other cultures, and to unlock his past hopefully. For Merrick, it's a means of escape. However, Kaera secretly prays that the new recruits can aid her in stopping a monster terrorizing her homeland and rebuild her reputation.

Two retired adventurers act as teachers to the fledging group but come out of retirement when they discover an ancient adversary beginning to stir once again. As they seek to prevent its return and gather forces of their organization, The Gatekeepers, they rekindle a forbidden flame. It may end up undoing everything they worked for.

The royal bloodline of Adoran is at its weakest. The king is dead and the prince is incompetent. As a result, seven prominent families vie for control of the crown at the risk of causing multiple wars that may end up balkanizing the entire kingdom or engulf the entire continent, giving the threat a chance to conquer everything in its path. However, a man ostracized by society may be the key to calming tensions and unite the land if it doesn't kill him first.
