Set in London during the Bubonic Plague (aka The Black Death or The Mortality). An unusual Plague Doctor arrives to help the ailing and work toward finding a treatment or cure. The challenges before him become somewhat complicated by scheming lords and ladies, needy orphans, an impish servant of otherworldly beings, and a variety of undead citizens. Luckily, Doctor Lupino's skill set extends beyond the realms of science and medicine as we know them.
I guess you might call this one magical realism or something like that.
The writing style I'm going for with this one takes a lot of inspiration from the late Sir Terry Pratchett, though I hesitate to give anyone an excuse to compare my work to those of such a brilliant writer.
