At the time of review, I read up to Chapter 23.

My Hollywood System is a story about the MC taking the movies that we know and love into an parallel world where these movies don't exist. The story definitely matches up with the synopsis, and being familiar with the novel 'I'm in Hollywood', the premise is definitely similar. However, the author definitely made changes that in my opinion enhances the reading experience.

Some of the changes from include:

      1. Removing real life celebrities and companies. Instead, we have original characters and even the companies mentioned in this novel do not exist. I actually googled these names, they don't exist.
      2. Instead of copy/pasting the movies, the MC takes the time to edit the script to suit his own needs and works to improve the movie in consideration of the criticisms that were made in real life. The author definitely does their research.
      3. MC seems less scummy compared to the MC in 'I'm in Hollywood'

So if these were some of the problems you have had when reading 'I'm in Hollywood', I would definitely give this novel a try.

Now in terms of story elements and quality:

      Grammar and Spelling

The legibility of the novel is solid. Spelling is perfect, grammar is pretty good. There are some awkward sentencing, but nothing that would take you out of the story. If you told me the author is a native English speaker, or fluent, I would believe you.

      Romance

The development of romance between the romantic interest (Only one so far) and MC is pretty quick. Its not love at first sight, and the author makes an effort to show a progression between stranger and romantic interest felt by the heroine. In addition, we get a glimpse into the motivations and personality of the first heroine, and her actions are believable taking that into consideration. For example,

      Spoiler

June takes a big gamble to act in MC's movie, due to wanting a leading role, desperation of being rejected from big roles, having an initial attraction to MC, having understood MC's intentions/plans for his first movie.

      [collapse]
I think that effort brings the romantic aspect of the story into a believable realm.

      Artificial Intelligence / System

If you noticed the tags 'Artificial Intelligence' and 'Level System', there is definitely a game-like system that you probably have seen in many other novels here and elsewhere. But this novel is a breath of fresh air in the sense that the game system is more of an extra or supporting character than up front and center. So you don't need to worry about massive walls of numbers and skills or a system that is forcing the MC to do certain actions, and so forth. So far, the system just provides MC tools to get started, and steps away.

      Plot

Inside and Outside of creating movies, character interactions, dialogue, pacing, etc. Are pretty good, I would say on the level of trending novels if not better. But where this story really shines (IMO) is the exploration of the movies, from reception, criticisms, how the movies were made, and events surrounding the movies. I'm not really a movie/cinema geek or watch many movies in general, but I definitely enjoyed learning about techniques like "Found Footage", and the real life events that happened after movie releases.

This novel strikes me as a celebration of the achievements that Hollywood has made, while acknowledging the flaws of the industry.

All in all, I would definitely suggest giving this novel a read regardless of whether this is the type of novel you normally read, or have cinema knowledge (I don't). It was definitely an enjoyable read for me that I actually made this first review because I really want this novel to succeed. The author has a really strong start, and I hope he/she/they continues to excel. I'm eagerly waiting for new chapters.

I’m a sucker for shobliz novels. Don’t like the balance of the system. And I hope the author makes it so that not all movies are successful as they were in real life. &Nbsp;I think they can be successful but not too the sam degree or mabye som are more successful. Looking forward to more.

The ammount of reasearch done for this novel amazes me. The world created has very good background info about real life references be it movies or characters.

But the author goes beyond that. The "Hollywood System" part feels natural, and the events, struggles, and original ideas put into this novel make a very good story.

Please excuse my bad english, but where I lack in gramatics, I make up with my judgement, and this story is at least very good.

What can I say? I was just fishing for some interesting and fun stories in scribblehub, and I manage to hook a big fish. My Hollywood System is a very fun novel to read, is it a masterpiece? I don't think I could say its a great masterpiece or literature classic, with all its worth, at best its a fun popcorn story.

But so? Webnovels, in essence, are addictive and fun popcorn stories. My Hollywood System manage to hit the nail in the head and make an addicting story to the point it should be illegal to read.

Characters are okay, but not that interesting to me. I like the idea of a parallel RDJ though, it has a lot of underdog potential.

In the end, My Hollywood System, does not have a grand world building, unique power system, crazy and thrilling mysteries but it has an addictive storyline that can keep you engaged for your time. And that, as a webnovel, does its purpose.

A really engaging story focused on showbiz. I binge read and caught up with the last uploaded chapter (c72 when this review was made) in a day. The only issue I have is that some of the tags may be a bit misleading when compared to other novels in this site. For example, it’s an isekai but it’s a parallel universe really similar to our world, it’s a fanfiction because the MC recreates and adapts some movies, but there aren’t any fictional characters from other works appearing here, it has smut but the protagonist isn’t a horndog that plugs anything in his way that thinks with his lower head. If you are on the fence about whether to read this or not because of the tags, I would strongly recommend you to give it a try.

What can I say about this?

I was sceptical as usual, because well, there's if not a ton of sh*tshow that have a vibe like this one

But oh boy how wrong I'm, everything is soo amazing, author managed what all of those failed and did it like what I would imagine

      Not a trashy sh*t system bullsh*tting my f**king arse

No this is a legit story a proper building for everything and just I love it

10/10 Author blew up my expectations

The story is really great, like how the author makes the story flow, but in the following chapters I hope we get to see some magical or amazing fight scenes of the MC but within an acceptable level.

I don’t know if I should be annoyed at myself for leaving this gem to rot in my Maybe? List for several months now, or glad that I had more to binge!

What I appreciate most in this novel is the setbacks the MC faces. The troubles with the studio in the latest chapters have cemented this fanfic as one to be closely followed in my reading list!

      Romance-wise: Pretty sub-plotish non-harem relationship. Does leave me wanting (I personally prefer small harems- though I really like June), but the dynamic of their relationship is very good. &Nbsp;

I put this off because I’m not a fan of Hollywood/Showbiz but, as can be seen through this review, even if you don’t enjoy such genres, this is one you’ll stay for the plot!
