Heroes, Villains and those in between constantly struggle in a world where the race to the top of the food chain can be brutal and unforgiving. For people like Shane, though, sometimes you get a leg up on the competition. Maybe he can be one of the few that can actually make it to the top. Or maybe that's just Wishful thinking.
I have been reading all of his stories here and on FanF. He always writes such interesting stories that have cool mechanics. This story is no different, the wish mechanic has so much good versatility and the idea of using fame as a cultivation mechanic is such an inspired choice. He is also really good at creating mysteries that leave you wanting to know more but also gives you clues with enough regularity that you are not left feeling like you are not getting closer to an answer. The characters might feel less at the beginning to be less detailed but once the cast is solidified, then you get to know more about the characters as it goes. The characters always feel like real people making the decisions that make sense for their character. The powers are all interesting with enough versatility to have innumerable use and the powers evolve and are combined when there is a need for them to be more viable. The world also feels like it is alive and populated with interesting but real feelings and the people feel like they have their own motivations, and if characters are not front and center, they still feel like they are doing things in the background.
