In the year 2022, the world's first VRMMO was released to the world, and various tragedies subsequently followed. However, there were precious few of these tragedies which were told, and the so-called "Hero of Aincrad" certainly did not experience much of a tragedy, if at all.

This is the story of Amakusa Akira, a young karateka who found himself in the world of Sword Art Online and how a lighthearted adventure slowly spiraled into a living hell for him.
