Oliver always held the firm belief that any situation could be solved, nay, help improve the world to be better than before the situation arose so long as you hoped for the best with all your heart, and tried as hard as possible. And, in his experience, he was right. Had he broken both his legs once when he was ten and decided to attempt to rescue another child from a tree? Absolutely. But, his wails of agony also made the nearby adults come to investigate, and after they called the ambulance, they also got the kid down, so really, from a certain perspective, it was a complete success. Well, maybe not a complete success, but definitely a success.

Would it be slightly harder to turn the apocalypse seemingly fueled by the will of nerds into a success? Of course not, it would even be fun!... Well, maybe slightly more difficult, but it could most definitely be done, and the path there would certainly be a fun adventure. After all, while he was only armed with a satchel holding a useless computer and the clothes on his back, and his scarf, he was sure he could figure out magic at some point, and really, what were the chances of him dying beforehand? Besides, there were tons of other races, which was a fantastic opportunity both for new friends and new knowledge, and while the technology the human species had as its foundation didn't seem to work in the new world, he was sure mana could do most of the same things, so long as they figured it out. So really, what could possibly go wrong?
