The Archaic System (Magic System of Fanctus)

The law that governs the world of Fanctus is called the "Archaic System".

Using this system/law, the inhabitants of Fanctus can manipulate mana, which exists in everything that isn't a living creature.

So, there is no such thing as "Mana Capacity" in this story. It's just how well you can manipulate mana to your whims. This requires a clear image, concentration, and "Mental Capacity". This means that everybody can use "magic", just that not everybody can do it well or effectively.

It is also important to note that while mana capacity doesn't exist, using magic will take a toll on your concentration, and after a while, you will start to lose concentration, and thus fail to conjure magic.

Essentially, the Archaic System allows you to manipulate mana to form objects, elements, etc.

Another important note, is that there is a difference between creating something out of mana and creating something with the help of mana. For instance, if you form a shield out of mana, you are basically condensing or reshaping mana to look and act like a shield. However, say, if you want to conjure elements, it's not created out of mana, but rather, you use mana to gather and reshape those elements from your surroundings. This is why, for example, if you try to conjure earth-based magic while being high up in the air, you will get nothing because there is nothing for the mana to gather and manipulate.

Location
Kingdom of Kanari

The Geography of Kanari Kingdom.

A large kingdom located at the south of the Dagaris continent. The majority of the kingdom consists of plains, with forests, a few hills, lakes, and rivers that flow from further inland towards the sea. And as a kingdom bordering the ocean to the south, a large part of the economy is driven by marine based resources.

The Social Condition in Kanari Kingdom.

In Kanari Kingdom, there are multiple different races that live together in harmony, or at least relatively peacefully. And it is ruled by a king or queen, who are selected from multiple royal families. Because of this, nearly every race has it's own royal family, and when a king or queen dies, the next one is selected from all of the royal families with a test, made by the "Owl of Intellect" Saturu, a primordial beast known for its intelligence, that has been watching over the kingdom since its founding tens of thousands of years ago. Amazingly, no matter the results, it has always been respected and honored, and not once has there been an insurrection by another royal family over the results of said test.

The History of Kanari Kingdom.

Before the Kanari Kingdom was founded, on the continent of Dagaris, there were multiple different countries, each ruled by one specific race. Although there were no open hostilities between the countries, there was no unity either. That was until the invasion of a neighboring continent from the north. The invaders rushed through the continents, and country after country fell. But in the end, the natives of Dagaris gathered together in the south to form the kingdom of Kanari. With this unity, they managed to hold off the invaders, and even push them back slightly, forming the borders of the current Kanari Kingdom. And after a few hundred years of wars, eventually, both sides made peace. And, on a stroke of luck for the Kanari Kingdom, the "Owl of Intellect" Saturu took a liking on the Kanari Kingdom, and gave the rulers of the races a way to determine the king/queen fairly, which was then called the "Tests of Rulers". Since then, the Kanari Kingdom prospers in the south of Dagaris.
