The series started very well, exciting, interesting concept, fun MC. Pretty much until the series hit a pause, that is the first 25 chapters, are 5/5 beyond excellent. Unfortunately, the ending of the first volume is very disappointing ruining the whole experience.
It starts with most exciting action, interesting world-building, and some mystery. Everything felt organic, reasonable, and was written very entertaining.
Unfortunately, the volume ends up as a big confusing mess. Lots of spontaneous powerups, for side characters and MC. Lots of odd stuff that feels strange to put in the climax. I have no idea why characters do what they do. Like, why suddenly everyone is a murderhobo and treats the deadly ever-growing horde of demons attacking the city like a background noise while fighting each other? Also, wtf but
apparently having no soul is a minor inconvenience.
It seems that author wanted to push too much into the story by the end of the first volume and rushed it rather than properly and carefully establishing the elements to reach a satisfying conclusion. I don't feel like continuing the story. Maybe next one? There's potential.
