The name given to those trained to protect supernatural packs, their own priority is the protection of supernatural creatures and to serve their alpha. Their skills include spy craft, manipulation, negotiation, hand to hand combat, use of various weaponry, money laundering and an extensive knowledge of the supernatural. 

One of the most notorious, feared and respected families within the Guardian world, originating in Scotland dating as far back as the twelfth century, their history is deep rooted within the land. Across the decades they have branched out across the United Kingdom, creating an underground network to pass their affairs through, as well as bases throughout Europe. 

The current heads of the family are Elizabeth and Matthew Halliwell, based in Edinburgh and have a largely successful accounting firm, that is used as a front for Guardian business, such as moving weaponry, washing money and buying Guardian's for personal use. 

Elizabeth and Matthew are the paternal grandparents of Emerson Halliwell, who doesn't know the truth of her family affairs and is the protagonist of our story. 

Emery Halliwell is the protagonist of this story, she is seventeen years old and attends Beacon Hills high school. She already has enough credits to graduate, however, she stayed on to take advanced placement classes and so she could stay in school for longer, as learning is something she really enjoys. 

Emery is incredibly smart for her age and can be extremely mature, however there are moments of pettiness an ego that get in the way and sometimes, endanger people.

She spends most of her time with Lydia Martin, however in the dead of night and at the Sheriff's police station, she likes to spend her nights theorizing with Stiles and Scott about any murders going on in the town.
