There are way too many snakes!
In reality the world is reigned by snakes. Theno was chosen by a superior snake: a serpent and now has to act as its' disciple. Besides digging holes what else can you do with the power of snakes? Well one thing is for sure, that stone and rune like thingy the snake spit out was meant for leveling and no one can stop someone who wants to make the best out of the situation even with a bunch of intimidating snakes slithering around.
Sometimes even small changes in perception can change a person entirely. Even a small change within a person can bring upon large changes in the world.
