Long ago, the world was overrun by demons and magic. From the ashes, adapting, using the very things that once ruined it, an unbalanced and flawed society was built. At its center were the witches, women able to wield otherworldly powers.

Witches use their abilities and knowledge to serve the people, hunt the monsters afflicting their daily lives, research and study those creatures to create new magical tools and gadgets, strengthening and furthering civilization, hoping one day they can regain what was once lost. That is their purpose.

Dailah, a young low-ranked witch from the boonies, is on her way to join the world of witches in the big city. As a novice, she'll be part of a unit responsible for dealing with and preventing the proliferation of magical pests. A straightforward and boring job, they told her.

Yet, as if afflicted by an unknown curse, time and again the path she follows shows itself to be more arduous - and dangerous - than she initially bargained for.
