In the world of Arcan, there is an elite and exclusive group of people who possess the capability to shape the energy of the world. Through rigorous training, these people —known as Trainers— as well as the Pokémon who call the world home are able to cultivate this energy, obtaining powerful mystical abilities and elongating their lives.

Among most of these Trainers, the desire to fight is ingrained in their bones, and in order to stop the millennia of destruction and devastation these superpowered individuals wreaked on the continents the most powerful people created a method to reduce this devastation.

The Great Gym Gauntlet. A trial undertaken by the most promising, ambitious, and strongest Trainers in order to prove who is the strongest, testing the bonds between Trainer and Pokémon against the most powerful in the world. Of these challengers, only the strongest are able to succeed and call themselves Champions.

For Jin Blackwood, a young boy from rural Unova, there isn't anything in the world that he wants more than to become Champion. But behind the glamor of the world of Trainers things may not always be as they seem.
