Nothing could be worse than being trapped in an urban office hellscape...
Well, except being trapped in a 'system' governed, jungle hellscape instead.
See... Calvin lived an incredibly average life. He worked at a lifestyle app company as their Senior project manager, and while the pay was nice and it had great benefits, it was a mind-numbing adventure in mediocrity. On the plus side, he got to work with his amazing best friend Amy, and went home every night to his adorable pup Freya.
Well... he did, until a 'system seed' spawned in local space and ripped him, Amy, and Freya, from their regular lives and thrust them straight into the 'System Tutorial'.
In a reality shaped by nanites, where magic is real, power is measured in levels, and slaying monsters before breakfast is just a fact of life, Calvin has one simple goal...
He and his group must learn the rules of this new system to survive the tutorial and gain power at all costs because whatever nightmare awaits them on the other side might be much, much worse than they could imagine.
So far ive enjoyed the story a lot
The authors choice on how to introduce some key elements has been odd to me, but not bad
How the system works is also interesting and the science that's so advanced it may as well be magic is cool
One of the few books I've read that having multiple main characters doesn't feel like it bogs down the story
The story is good
I do feel like it's missing something
But idk what it is that can make it better

Amazing story so far! Keep up you're doing great.
The nano concept is a bit hard to grasp though, but I still like how original you try to be and the characters are great!
Keep Freya alive for us please :D

So a weird mix of sci-fi and magic ruining both.
At the start we have a scene that should be tension filled ruined by it being explained thereby sapping it of all its tension.
Then and I kid you not we skip all explanations about everything and go directly into fighting... We even skip his 1st lvl up!!! How is somebody supposed to be immersed in the story or interested in the characters when we know nothing about them/it.
This story is 70% fighting you. Go watch only the fighting parts of an action movie and you will have this story.
