Marcus is a teenager who grew up in the quiet village of Woodcrest. Together with his father Tyrus and his sister Gloria, he lived as any boy from a hamlet in the middle of the forest would. His father was a monk from the sect of the “Golden Way”. He tried his best to pass on his teachings to both of his children, but as any parent knows, time and life experience is the best teacher. Of course Tyrus didn’t know how soon that would be, when the village was attacked by vampires.

Woodcrest was far removed from the darkness at work in the rest of faendal, but a few centuries ago an inescapable event happened. Demon king Lucifer broke the balance of the heavens and struck down God. The sect of the Golden way along with the armies of king Reinhardt sealed Lucifer away in an ancient tomb. A tomb the Sect was charged with protecting.

Tyrus moved to the little village as he was one of the monks tasked with hiding an object of great importance to preparing the next generation of monks when the sect fell into disarray 30 years ago. He knew the day the vampires attacked somehow found out about it and hid it away for the right person to find it. He had a strong desire and hope that Marcus would carry the torch, because he was far too old to fend off the attack himself. Can Marcus step up to the task, or will this new world he finds himself in chew him up and spit him out?
