This starts out pretty much modern day though no dates are mentioned. It will avoid politics and current events outside of framing or generic plot moving. The world starts out pretty much now but is going to go downhill over time. While not intended to be grim-dark this will be an apocalypse so the world will suffer as a whole.

I am aiming for a slow burn progression type story so don't expect the world to end tomorrow in this one. Then again this is all new to me so not sure how well I can pace it.

This is my first go at writing. I am using litrpg and dungeon core type mechanics as a framework but it won't lean on them too hard or be stat heavy. it will be more of a guideline to move things along and provide a sort of logic to it all.

The first chapter took way more work than I thought it would so no idea what kind of schedule I can keep. I am ultimately aiming for 3-5 a week though. Any suggestions, critiques, etc are welcome as I know little about writing and nothing about publishing online.

That was the year 2020, when the apocalypse started in the Amazonian forest and quickly enveloped the whole earth.

After that? Perhaps there was no Earth any longer since no one cared about some naming of the ground beneath their feet.

It has been more than a century since then, and William has a strange thing within his forearm called the Emblem. Their history and origins stem from the decade since the start of the apocalypse. A boy is born around the 30ties of the 21st century, with a magnificent gem within his chest.

It mattered very little, as the monsters would keep on hunting. It made sense back then since it has been a couple of generations ago already.

Tough living, humanity still survives. They are like cockroaches, quite resilient. The Walkers had the power of the System of the Emblem and are forcing the Dark Age back, or at least they are trying to.

Perhaps a chance that is a William is a path towards finding the end of this madness? Not one would dare to guess the Outsider to be a good Walker, but he wants to since his parents used to be one. He still doesn’t like it… but it is his path that is forced upon him.

Story? Survival of humanity at the point in the future, where living conditions are passable, at best. It has been more than a century of warfare against the Dark beings, and William is a survivor, as well as the fortunate young man, who has been gifted with the Emblem.

Warning! A shoe ton of gore, blood, and pain will be portrayed. Chapter 0 is a prime example, but the slice of life here is too… but… just so you know. There are also a few political shenanigans, where I have no intentions to undercut any value or proudness of any nation in an apocalypse setting. Also, a bit of nudity, sex appeal, and romance are here.

Kids are suddenly born with strange abilities and possibilities of getting stronger and weirder through the system-like elements through the Emblems? What sort of world would it cause for the possible politics and destruction of the world?

That is about that. I would argue it is a mixture of dystopian Edge of Tomorrow, and a bit of Solo Leveling without heroism, time-loop, and tech. A lot of post-apo stuff and the world of Earth we all love.
