How was I not following you? Massive oversight on my part, will not happen again. clear.png Hope things aren't too crazy for you right now, since I just saw your May 29 post.

FayeBliss · Author · May 29, 2026

The good news is that I have a lot more time to devote to things like writing, games, and music.

The bad news is that's because I've been laid off.

I'm sorry hopefully that's not for to long.

Rellawing · May 30, 2026

Ouch... that's unfortunate Faye! I hope you get a new job if it comes to that sooner than later! *hugs*

DaughterofKhaos · May 30, 2026

oof that really sucks, I'm sorry! hope something you enjoy comes along soon! (meaning both new job AND cool projects!)

ScorchedWinds · Jun 2, 2026

Oh dear! Wishing you the best! <3 Hopefully, you get another job soon enough! And you get to enjoy the things you want to!

Anyone who shares my tastes and is able to pay for a book should check out Witches, Boys and Other Monsters by Gail Blue.     I plan to read Whim Manor and the Boy Who Wasn't by the same author soon.

Btw these are free on royal road

FayeBliss · Author · Mar 11, 2026

I am afraid that I can't remember which story had the comment (please let me know if you know), but I've I've been reading the Tuck Saga at http://www.barkingduck.net/ehayes/writings.htm and it has been quite fun.

I have been reading gender-bendy stuff all my life, but it was in the mid-90s that it became my favorite genre.   Even though most of the stuff available was, to say the least, bad and probably did a lot of psychic harm to my deeply closeted self.

I think it was on one of @Kickaha ‘s, either Red Xandra or Once in a Lifetime, I’m pretty sure it was Red Xandra

Edit: Red Xandra chapter Hunting for love I

Kickaha · Mar 12, 2026

Yeah, Tuck was a major influence on me (writing-wise and other-wise), gotta say. @Rellawing The most recent I know is that as of 2017 or so Ellen was doing fine, but the computer she wrote on had died and nothing modern could run her word processor & such. The last story update was in mid-2013.

Rellawing · Mar 12, 2026

@Kickaha Ah yes, she was very stubborn about her site format and such. What you said rings very true based on the impression I got of her in our correspondence. Thanks for updating me on what I was curious about. That most likely means that she probably didn't continue any stories the last time I read, meaning the main story is still unfinished.

FayeBliss · Author · Mar 12, 2026

Thank you for the background info, especially @parzival34 for adding the link.    I am still working through the story, so I might regret this but I generally don't care if stories like these finish because they are more like soap operas than novels.   I wish there was a place I could add comments, though, I have so many thoughts while reading.

StillSpirit · Feb 1, 2026

Thank you so much for the review! It really means a lot! I am so glad to have you along for the journey and even more so that you have enjoyed it so much thus far.

th3saurus · Dec 16, 2025

So, weird story, I found a link to your story list early in the pandemic when I was looking for more gendery webcomics to devour. It had been a long time since I'd had the attention span to read any kind of prose story, but after I worked my way through the webcomics, I decided to give your scribble recs a shot.
And honestly this site completely hooked me. There's so much great trans rep here, and I probably never would have found it if you didn't make that list, so thank you so much.

FayeBliss · Author · Dec 16, 2025

I sincerely believe this site has the best trans rep anywhere.   Most other places have too much of the other stuff to find the gems.   I am glad that my lists helped you.

Giana · Nov 11, 2025

How are you doing?

Adra_Collins · Nov 9, 2025

just wanting to say thanks for sticking with my book this long, I really appreciate it.

I really hate that I can only post 500 characters and there is NO indicator how many letters are in the post!   So I had to break up my post into chunks, smaller and smaller until they posted.

And then I was hit with a speed limiter!  Why?

LeilaniOtter · Aug 24, 2025

It's a real pain.

This might be helpful. Type what you'd like to here:

https://charactercounttool.com/

Than paste to Scribble Hub. *^^* I use it often myself.

FayeBliss · Author · Aug 24, 2025

Thanks!  That looks like a useful tool.

LeilaniOtter · Aug 24, 2025

I get a bit winded when I'm using Bluesky too, and we only get 300 characters there. *^^* lol

So, yes, like all things, everything in moderation.

Like several others, I recently learned about the death of TrismegistusShandy. This is a major loss to our community.

https://www.scribblehub.com/profile/1013/trismegistusshandy/

As a writer, Tris was excellent at taking some very unusual ideas and taking them to their logical conclusion. Their stories often had a dry, almost academic style to them, which I realize isn't to everyone's taste, but that is only one part of why they matter.

One thing that makes these special is, as I said, the focus on telling trans stories, including links to articles about trans people or a long explanation of gender dysphoria. At the time, this was quite rare, most online "TG" fiction was... well, one-handed, and seemingly written by cis men. Casey Plett and Imogen Binnie had written their first works, but they wouldn't receive much attention until years later.

FayeBliss · Author · Aug 22, 2025

I'm not sure I can explain to younger people how much impact this change had on my life.

FayeBliss · Author · Aug 22, 2025

Tris did so much to support this new cohort of writers. There are many stories on scribblehub where you'll find a thank you for editing. This includes me, when I asked around for an editor, Tris was the first to respond and gave me lots of excellent advice. Tris was also very good a promoting, each chapter of a Tris story would include a link to another writer's stories, if you don't know where to start, following their recommendations would be a good place.

We have lost a pioneer, a cheerleader and a leader. Goodbye, TrismegistusShandy, I will miss you.
