Just subversion for the sake of subversion.

You might enjoy it, or not...

Putting it up just because...I don't know. I just wanna put it up.

Upon reaching Heaven Wind City, Xie Fan visited an ordinary tavern.

He was getting all cozy with the food and drinks and a young master walked in a swagger; his entourage followed suit.

The moment his eyes landed upon the people, they hurriedly clasped their hands and bowed.

"Young Master Lin!"

"I greet the Young Master!

When Xie Fan's turn came, he copied the others perfectly; putting on a servile attitude and reverent look.

"Greetings to Young Master Lin!"

"Good! It seems you all know respect. Waiter, give me the best food and wine you have, and the best seat."

Bad luck as it might be, the young master's seat was nearby...

'Fuck me.'

He really did not know much how to behave among those bona-fide scions.

The young man only knew those nouveau riche people would be offended so easily!

They must be here to cause trouble. No other reason why they would visit such seedy tavern.

Those young masters, according to the rumors he heard, were living menaces without remorse.

The worst part about it—when you submit, they'll walk over you and even want to cripple your entire cultivation! When you gave an inch, they'll shamelessly demand a mile!

If you fought back--not only the older generation and the rest of the family—their entire ancestors would also join in.

It only ceased after you massacred the entire family and violated their corpses one by one!

...and Xie Fan at the moment, had no strength to massacre an entire family or clan, should the moment arose.

"Alright, let's just do it according to plan."

When Xie Fan was pondering...Young Master Lin already about to leave the tavern. He was deep in thought the entire time and the young master paid him no mind.

It was when he heard the bona-fide scion's resentful bellows...he recovered his stupor.

"Who the hell sighed earlier?"

Xie Fan immediately averted eye contact with the young master and, like everyone else, hung his head low

'So close...'

Xie Fan had to witness a young boy getting beaten to death. He was the owner's only son.

The middle-aged man had blood pouring from his eyes. Kneeling down with the corpse on his lap. He's frozen like a statue the entire time, while some people were robbing his money and goods in broad daylight.

The owner couldn't even respond when two of his daughters were taken away. Their incessant cries seem to ring towards deaf ears.

The sight of bastards trampling over the weak always tugged on his conscience...although it's just a small tug.

He had seen this happen far too much...it desensitized him.

'No need to massacre an entire Clan or Sect for this. I should live more low-key. My own Dao wasn't anything righteous.'

'Just because you had power--playing the Hero is just going to cause needless trouble.

I would only save people when the benefits outweigh the loss.

In this case, the bandits are small time. Seeing as they already moved to rob low-value goods—what they held won't be any of use.'

...and Xie Fan moved to another city just like that.

A few days later, a righteous cultivator annihilated the Young Master's family. Along with massacring various bandit camps and rescuing countless beauties while they're at it.

Of course, it had nothing to do with Xie Fan.

All the troublesome things could just be left to the main characters.
