It has come to my attention that Republicans want to outlaw LGBTQ fiction, labeling it as pornographic material. Not only that, but they also aim to criminalize authors who produce any content deemed pornographic. If individuals like Donald Trump, who share similar sentiments, are not prosecuted or admonished for this far-right agenda, the safety of LGBTQ individuals in America will be compromised. Authors and advocates for inclusiveness will likely face the greatest risk.
Given this significant threat looming over us, I must seriously contemplate whether I can continue writing about topics I am passionate about if these right-wing initiatives materialize.
If Donald Trump is elected as our dictator for life, despite facing numerous obstacles, writers like myself may disappear from the scene for the foreseeable future. In such a scenario, I might have to take all my stories offline. I am beginning to question whether it is worth releasing any more stories until our constitutional rights are secure.
Therefore, unless those currently endangering our rights—individuals who threaten anyone opposing what the Republicans assert as true American values—remain able to stage a coup and seize control over our country, I cannot, in good conscience, continue writing.
I will still consider the matter, but the logical outcome is to stop writing until the storm has passed.
Fellow Americans, please vote. It is none of my business who and what you vote for or whether or not you vote at all. I would just like to remind you that this is something that you have the right and ability to do.
Vote in your own interests, for your countrymen and women, or better yet, both. Or don't. Unless you plan to run for office yourself, it is the best way to participate in the process. Vote locally, vote statewide, these elections trickle upward into nationwide elections over time. They will impact you far more than nationwide elections will. (Be sure to vote in nationwides too, of course!)
Spend a few minutes doing some research. A few google searches and short paragraphs can give you an idea who/what you want to vote for.
I wish people would quit talking about a Christian state being created, because it's not Christianity. As a Christian with a moderately conservative perspective, I decry the mockery of Donald Trump.
Please continue to write. It is your platform. If authors quit writing, they have won without a vote.
Same. Christian state? If what DT is planning could be called a “Christian state”, then I guess the Taliban in Afghanistan should be called an “Islamic state,” and Russia is currently a “democracy.” We’re seeing how well that is turning out. Besides, isn’t the whole point of Christianity to love one another no matter your differences? Something tells me that banning different forms of love is not, in fact, loving thine enemy.
@SemiBrightRock993 The U.S. is not currently a Christian state and never has been, and what's called Christian values aren't. DT is a narcissistic megalomaniac and don't know how anyone could call his behavior christian.
Christianity is such more than love one another, but that is a topic for another day.

Just throwing in my two cents here, but writing seems like the best thing you could be doing at this time, it gives you a platform and influence to actually make a difference in social issues like what our country is dealing with. Being a popular author is one hell of a big soap box to speak from, and we have a year to get this straightened out.
Ps holy sh*t this is f*cked up, just talked to a family member about project 2025, explained the basic premise and how it destroys the 1st amendment to create fascist Christian theocracy, he condemned it the whole way. As soon as he hears it's a way to strike the lgbtq community, corrects course to say he's all for it. This is horrific, please spread awareness, this is not ok, and it's not just the lgbtq community that will suffer under it, you're just the first targets.
To be honest, I thought you must be exaggerating when I first read this (I've been studiously avoiding politics for the past half a year to avoid getting dragged into a depression from it) but what you said was concerning enough I figured I'd check out the video... I was very unhappy to learn that it seems you weren't exaggerating at all! I have semi-seriously discussed the idea that America might fall in The Next Century based off of what was happening in politics and what I understood of the workings of the government, but I'd never really considered that it might happen within the next decade... Until now.
I suppose I need to expedite my plans on moving to another country...

To be clear I consider myself a Republican, and am a Christian American white person as well. I do not ever push my beliefs on others and neither will I vote for Donald if he is up for the end run as president. I do not support censoring free speech and personally I love your story and would not ask you to change it. I find reading it to be humorous and relaxing. I am happily married straight man myself, but I do not see that as a reason to criticize others for how they want to live their lives. I will not say I completely understand others (as in literally anyone else not just the lgbtq+ community) but as a father I 100% support the right for everyone to do what they want as long as it causes no harm to others.
And to be crystal clear, when I say harm I am not talking about hurting someone's delicate sensibilities. I am for equal rights for all humanity not just those who agree with my mindset.
So vote for who you deem best.
And dear author-san. Please continue to post your stories until such time as you feel you no longer want to. And if you feel it is in your best interest not to do so then we will miss you until such time as you feel like you are able to safely do so again. Just know you are love ad supported by many of us, do not let a few old blowhards discourage you from your passions.
Just vote and well stop voting for people that tarnish lgbt name cause as you can see the left damaged lgbt pushed stuff into young childrens heads (basicly pushing po*n to the young) and now people see it being used against there children and guess what? people do not like lgbt cause of some bad apples so they vote for republicans cause well it's political move just like left was doing trying to get the voters. Anyways just strike against the bill and just vote what's best for you or the people. (Also there is a lot of transgender authors that only write for political reasons or to try to push there agenda into other peoples heads)
The harder you force something to people the higher the resistance you will receive (we didn't have so many trans people before but now we do I wonder how did that happen? Surally no brainwashing from the left?)
Anyways I don't live in USA and don't have to deal with nonsense like this. Just write your stuff it's not banned now and plus not like people will pass the bill just cause somebody thought about it. If it becomes problem then do something about it.
