The situation on 2F is also slightly different from that on 1F or B1F.

There are no walls and ceilings of flesh here, nor are there any maggots. However, it was full of cobwebs.

Numerous red eyes shining in the darkness, which was a group of creatures that had 8 pairs of eyes scattered everywhere, sent chills down the spine of anyone who saw their appearance.

[⁂][Adult Veliperalocator Spider - Lv143] - (×4)
[⁂][Veliperalocator Spider - Lv135] (×40)
[ ⁑ ][Larva Spider - Lv80~90] (×???)

Spiders, spiders, spiders...

The room actually looked like a luxurious hall, or it should have been in the past, except it was occupied by a monstrous spider family. Hecate could see the cow-sized spider she saw in 1F. But this time, there were 4 spiders with bigger size than before on the ceiling.

They are as big as a house and occupy a large space on the ceiling. They have 10 black hairy legs, two extra legs than a normal Veliperalocator Spider and on their back they have a crest-like symbol that looks like the skull of a smiling devil. Their claw-like teeth made tinkling sounds, as if they were communicating with each other.

It was obvious at first glance that every one of their toes and teeth were coated in a deadly poison. Hecate had no way of nullifying attacks beyond the 4 elements, so their sweep of attacks was enough to break through her paper-like defenses and kill her.

And then, hidden behind the cobwebs that spread all over the room, there were countless tiny spiders that were continuously moving nimbly. Their movement creates clear sounds that enhance the disturbing atmosphere in the room.

This dungeon really wasn't for the faint of heart.

Forget about this dungeon, even seeing a rather large tarantula, most normal people would scream like crazy.

Hecate had never hunted here before, as there was a large enough level difference that she had no confidence in winning. But now that her level had reached Lv131, the level gap between her and them had shortened enough that it entered the limit of her tolerance for trying.

This level gap was not to be underestimated, as most monsters had something called suppression skills that reduced the damage received from anyone with a level lower than them by a level difference of 10 or more.

The greater the level difference, the greater the damage reduction.

This was why most Players would avoid hunting monsters 10 levels higher than them, unless they had something that could cancel out those suppression skills, such as the Prestige skill which was one of the Templar skills possessed by Leon.

The spiders, apparently noticing Hecate's presence, simultaneously glanced at her. Starting from the normal Veliperalocator Spider, they descend from their nest above. As for the adults, they don't seem to want to move and just stay where they are.

    • Look at the intruder, it's just a little human girl loli there. She doesn't seems have a lot of meat to chew.
    • Just a little meat won't fill my stomach, why bother wasting energy to move. Go, my children! Get along and share that meat to yourselves.
      • Ok mama, I was bored with eating maggots in the lower floor anyway.
      • Yaay! Human meat! I wonder what is the taste like.
    • Hahaha, good child. Then hurry up, the meat is not enough for you all. First come first serve!

Maybe that's what the big baddy spiders were thinking right now. They had clearly underestimated her petite figure, not knowing the storm she had raised downstairs.

However, the spiders quickly regretted their thought soon after.

"Heh, I'll dethrone all of you from your nest above... Fall to the ground! Earthquake!!"

GOOOOO!!!!

Instantly the ground, walls, and ceiling shook violently. Many decorative objects such as statues, candlesticks, or paintings started crumbling to the floor. But that's not the end.

GYAAARRSSHH!! SHHAAAARRRSSS!!

CRASH! CRASH!! CRASH!!

-27343  -31084  -28423  -24454  -28392  -29435  -30243  -30325 ....

The cow-sized spider, along with all the colossal spiders trembled. Their cobwebs tore and they started falling, making loud noises. Several smaller spiders that were unluckily in the wrong place were immediately squashed by the colossal spiders.

Their bodily fluids splashed and left many stains on the floor.

Dust scattered and filled the entire room, and next, the spider colony had been destroyed in just a few breaths.

Of course, the spell doesn't kill all the spiders. Earthquake was originally a Crowd Control type spell and wasn't used to deal damage. The aim of earth-based spells was to protect and support, so the death rate was much lower than other advanced spells.

Nevertheless, it's still a great spell to cast. Because, it gave Hecate the first chance to attack her enemies. Wasting no time, Hecate swiped her hand in the air.

The moment the spell was launched, bursts of flames engulfed the entire room. Starting from the cobwebs that spread all over the room, the flames greedily devoured everything in its path. Spiders, shattered statues, decorative objects... none of which escaped.

The spider's tragic scream echoed in the room. They could do nothing but endure the burning pain and die reluctantly.

    • My home! My children! My family! NOOO!!!
    • Human is too scary! Human is too scary!
      • Mama... it hurts... my spinneret is burning...
    • What sin we did in our spider life so that we have to deserve this?

Hecate watched the demise of the spider family with a joyful smile.

In her eyes, the spiders were just a moving Exp bag. Even if they were killed, new ones would start replacing them the next day. And somehow, their cries sounded like music to her ears. It was like a sweet symphony that soothed her heart.

Symphony of destruction!

Then, the music stopped, replaced by tranquility.

The fire lasted for a full 3 minutes before being extinguished. All that remains are charred ruins.

Hecate sighed helplessly at the sight. Too bad she had to use fire magic and burn everything down. Not even loot can be obtained. Like how Sharknath was reduced to ashes by Mana Explosion.

But it couldn't be helped, Hecate was just a solo player after all. There are no tankers to protect her from enemy attacks, no healers to keep her little HP safe. Without help, how could she hunt in high level areas without using destructive spells?

“If I party with other people then the share of Exp will be divided, and I have to follow other people's schedules. It's too troublesome... Haah..."

No crazy grinding, splitting Exp distribution... Forget it! Might as well go solo!!

Hecate wandered around to see what else could be picked. Most of the spider's body would instantly turn to ashes even with just one touch.

She touched one of the colossal-sized corpses of the spiders with the intention of looting it, only to receive a message.

This item is too big to loot.
Please dismantle it first into a maximum size of 3m × 3m × 3m.

She immediately gave up after seeing the message. Dismantling it would take too long, might as well use that time to hunt more. She decided to collect at least the spider ashes using Empty Bottles, and some decorative items that had survived the fire.

The spiders also dropped some Soul Essence which she had decided to collect as well.

This day was a lucky day for Hecate.

It wasn't every day that she could get Soul Essence because the drop rate was so low. Even in the marketplace, every Soul Essence that appeared was priced exorbitantly. But perhaps, this was because her Sub-class, Collector, was starting to take effect.

After looting the place, Hecate moved into the next room. Of course, after she used Mystical Amplification first.

Using the same strategy, she continued to raze the entire floor using mainly Earthquake and Vermilion Blast. Countless spider corpses and ashes scattered in her path of terror.

For some reason, a large number of spiders kept crawling out of the room near the stairs area so she decided to camp there and finish off the remaining spells, occasionally exploding groups of spiders in a regular rhythm.

Hecate was very happy when she saw the message. After receiving the Anti-Racial buff, her spells become more powerful and allow her to hunt more efficiently, though only limited to spiders.

Too bad her Earthquake and Vermilion Blast can't be used indefinitely. The ring limit for both spells will be exhausted after 7 more uses (both are currently 7/30). Hecate decided to exhaust the two spell limit first before retreating. She didn't bother collecting any more loot, as the place was constantly spewing spiders without knowing when to stop.

If she were to get close to collect loot, wouldn't that be asking herself to be hacked up by the spawning spiders?

So, she simply switched rings and cast spells without a second thought, enjoying the endlessly flowing experience rush and not planning to stop until she ran out of spells.

However, just as she was using the spell for the 28th time, she was suddenly interrupted by a message.

The queen of Spiders, Arachnia is approaching your position.

The cries of her descendant had woken her up from her long slumber.
Realizing the threat to her race's survival,
she moved personally to inspect the lower floors!

Evacuate before she finds you!

Hecate frowned after seeing the message. The boss personally moved to the lower floor...

That wasn't good news, especially when her spell arsenal was nearly empty. She immediately stopped all hunting activities and resolutely used the item Return Crystal on the spot. Instantly, her avatar teleported back to the Save-Point, avoiding the impending disaster.

Sure enough, not long after Hecate teleported, a giant spider arrived on the scene. But its shape did not resemble the ordinary spiders Hecate had seen until now.

A naked woman with a human upper torso, arms and head. Her appearance was not much different from normal humans except for very, very striking differences.

The unnaturally pale white color of her skin plus the long, messy hair, and the huge, pale-white body of a spider that resembled the colossal spider that Hecate had killed recently, connected to her where her human legs should have been.

She has 2 eyes on a human head along with 32 eyes on a spider head that glows in the dark. On the back of the spider's body, the same crest that Hecate had seen from the colossal spider could be seen. Twelve giant spider legs grow from the spider's body. These legs are fully functional and are also her primary source of mobility.

[🚫][Arachnia, the Spider Queen - Lv230]

A named monsters! Moreover, her level was way above Sharknath the World Boss!

The moment Arachnia arrived, she saw the tragedy in front of her. An incomparably hot room where many of her descendants' burned corpses could be seen. The air she breathed was mixed with the ashes of the many lives of her descendants. It smells exactly like roasted spiders.

She tried to hold one of the corpses with her hands, only to see it crumble at the touch. No one knew what was going through her mind at the moment, but her pained screams resounded loudly throughout the ruins.

♠♠♠

Hecate, who was currently back at the Save-Point could hear the screams clearly. But she wasn't worried that the boss would rush at her in this room, because it seemed the Save Crystal was driving away monsters.

"Why did boss appear at a time like this? Until now, something like this has never happened..."

It doesn't look like the boss will be returning to where it belong anytime soon. If the boss stayed on that floor, this hunting grounds would be basically unusable. Meaning, anyone who hunted in this place had a high chance of encountering the boss.

Hecate could only sigh helplessly.

"I don't want to face the boss without Mana Explosion ready."

Mana Explosion is a powerful trump card, but it can only be used once a week.

Only 1 and a half hours had passed since the last round. There was still 1 Exp Potion but she had almost used up all her spells to continue grinding. The third round has basically been completed.

In that case, she better check out the loot she had collected today.

The reason why Arachnia awakened
  1. B1F - 4F used the same staircase, so the distance needed to travel between floor is not that long.
  2. The spiders' cry also serves as a distress signal, so after hearing the wailing cry of its brethren, many spiders from 3F and 4F went to check.
  3. More colossal-sized spiders that has higher levels couldn't pass the stairs because of its body size, so only regular one that could cross the stairs, and died from Hecate's AOE spells.
  4. The constant screams and distress signals awaken Arachnia who is still slumbering in her chamber.

Almost more than 40% of the total spiders was killed in just one day.
