When Choji and Kotaru were in their positions, Shikamaru and Ino started to cheer Choji on.
"GO GET HIM!" - Shikamaru
"YOU CAN DO IT, FATSO!!" - Ino
"Ugh...! SHUT YOUR MOUTH AND KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN! I'M GONNA END THIS MATCH FAST SO I CAN COME BEAT YOU UP!" - Choji was shouting towards Ino.
Meanwhile on Kotaro's side.
Eiji was picking his nose, while Arina was at least showing a "Fight on!" pose, even if it was half-assed and with a bored expression.

So now, only the "leftover" fights are left. Even though it's generally a good idea to give some more screentime and depth to original characters like Kotaru and Arina, I know you guys want to get to the juicy stuff as fast as possible and me too to be honest. So I plan to have the rest of the fights be short, so the preliminaries end in the next chapter or the chapter after the next.

Honestly, somewhat invested in Eiji, as he is the MC and is interesting.
Couldn't really care about Kotaru as he seems a bit of a mob filing the teammate slot until he is replaced by basically anyone, though maybe he could be used as a sacrifice during one of Eiji's more childish stunts during a serious situation to help Eiji grow from a childish attitude to a more serious attitude. Not saying the jokes need to go, just pointing out a potential growth direction and a use for a bit really under developed character.
Arina, I'm about fifty-fifty on. She is more interesting than Kotaru currently, but also kinda feels like she might be a placeholder. For some reason her character, at least in the personality area, feels more developed than Kotaru. Kinda feels like she might realize a standard ninja path isn't for her and find an alternative ninja path or something. Thinking about it, Kotaru kinda feels like, assuming he lives, he'll take a shuriken to the knee and become a town guard or similar.

Mob character should be mob, it dosen't have to be detail persona, anyway make both mob kotoro n aruna losing and losing and crying and marrying civilian, its the best happy ending for mob
The world of otome games is tough for mobs.
I love that novel, you should give it a read. There is no need to accept your fate as a mob character, considering that Eiji is also pretty much a mob in "Naruto" and he knows it.
@Goldaer I'd read long ago considering it come from bakapervert and author seven (one of the earliest WN) check my id lehur on NU, I'd been read WN even before WW exist and for LN JP stuff, I'd been actively since bakatsuki start project and nanodesu who updates monthly or even yearly so at that time.
I think tho, I guess you haven't read enough otome game for mob, coz the MC ain't gonna be the best get Harem No..No.No.. The MC only do stuff coz he super rejected to marry girl in otome who dominated guy and have NTR slave from beastrace, he did it (change plot and take cheat who protag or heroine not really needed) solely for gain freedom to choose who he want to marry, tho for the entire process he didn't have any desire to marry character, the heroine muggle, the prince's mother (my fav milf and he did have idea to like her but afraid of king, come on his cheat could destroy kingfom why not kill the king) and chara the daughter's noble. He did not have any active idea to make them harem or marry or pursue.
So in the end for mob just to get freedom to free from plot (all girls are NTR-ing and dominating, kind of plot) and marry normal character, coz to avoid problem Of Course he did still get problem and get affection from characters
1. Read Trash from Count Family - as mob he want to get free from plot of war and get safety, so he take normal cheat (power who the protag ain't needed) to ended up can not avoid plot, fighting in war
2. Read Novel's Extra - as mob who want to get little stronger and 24 hours 7 days to guided Kim Suho to gain power fastest and stronger, so that he can get free pass avoid devil killing plot, to ended up he again the one who fight the devil, and to do things behind the scene (he make company of r&d for weapon and many deed with no name id) to ended up in the final chap be open for all to see, many character ...have feeling for him. Remember Chai Nayun the heroine he painfully guide her to the corect path (sword) and to know Suho better to ended up the chick like him
Summary...many mob have mob psychology who afraid of the change beyond plot, and tendency to avoid to have many private relationship with character or heroine.
If you want mob get harem read Magiex or previously know as Magiero before LN released and get the editor to change the name. Mob who takes everything like regressor (someone who come back to the past after dead) would do
@lehur all i said was that mob character, especially if they are the MC of the novel, dont need to accept their fate and can flip the script as they like if they get enough into the spotlight.... but i agree that most of them are usually trying to follow the original story so they get to the good end without having to endanger themselves.
The problem is that this would make the story pretty boring to read therefore they are most likely thrust into situations where they need to break character, be it for survival or because of their morsl code and therefore end in up in the limelight.
Due to the mob-MCs actions other mobs are often also affected and rise in importance, maybe we can see this here in this story, maybe not.
As for the "The world of otome games is tough for mobs" MC, he originally also didnt want to change things but had to due to other reincarnator interefering. He mainly did it to save his own hide but came to loke the people around him and ended up protecting everyone. Concerning his running from mariage... well, he is still 19 i think and was presented with 2 wives off the bat with a lot of noble responsibilities as baggage, nk wonder he wants to enjoy "freedom" for a while longer and "kill the king?" he is no savage even if the king is an asshole.
When k get the choice i read the LN since the WN is often still filled with a lot of wish fulfilling from the author.
