This week.... was hell!!
Grandma wouldn't let me train at all! No Shadow clones! No Waterball!! I couldn't even read a book about anything with any kind of Jutsu!
She only gave me a cookbook!!
I helped make food, I gave her and Grandpa a shoulder massage every day, and I just.....had to sit there. She'd smack me if she sensed any chakra forming from my body.
It was torture.
All that time wasted and I couldn't do anything! Ugh!!
[Well, it's not all bad. You've gotten a bit good at cooking.]
Cooking is the only thing I could look forward to that I could train in. Timings for fire and flipping techniques are just as fun as a battle at this point.
It was kind of funny to see the villagers and ninjas who knew Grandpa and Grandma freak out when they had all their limbs back. Their faces made it totally worth it.
Grandpa has been finishing orders at breakneck speed and Dad has never been happier.
He always wanted to learn Grandpa's techniques the official way as opposed to the salvaged technique with one arm.
Now Dad can see the techniques in their entirety. His work has been getting better and better.
I saw a ninja taking a box of three pronged kunai from Dad to the Hokage building. I guess Minato still has Dad make his weapons. I wonder what he needs that many kunai for though?
[......]
'Akumu?'
[Yeah?]
'You ok? You blanked for a bit.'
[I'm fine. It's just.... I'll probably have to go again soon.]
'Why?!'
[A limited time item is up for grabs. I can't miss it!]
Haaa. Akumu won't tell me what's really happening again.
'Is it why Mom is gone?'
[Probably related to it.]
'I see. Tell me when you go. I'll get strong enough to accompany you soon.'
Tomorrow is the end of the ban. I'll get back to training with Itachi,Maka, and Sasuke! It'll be great!!
*******
"Hii."
Oh boy.
Grandpa caught me mid step out of the door!
He doesn't need a shoulder massage again, does he?
"In trouble?"
"Well, he did hurt himself really bad. I wouldn't let it go so easily."
And the twins are not helping!
Grandpa shakes his head and points to himself.
"You train with me today."
I...don't have a problem with that.
I wait for Grandpa to finish his breakfast as I wash the empty dishes.
Damn punishment. I'm reflexively cleaning now.
Whatever. Let's just get them squeaky clean.
"I'm done."
Grandpa finishes his meal and puts the plate in the sink.
"Leave the dishes to Riku. You come with me."
"Ok!"
"Hey, Grandpa! Can we come too?!"
Moya asks with excitement while Yozora nods in agreement.
Grandpa shakes his head.
"No. You train with Grandma."
"Awww! Why Not?!"
Grandpa raised his hand.
*Chi Chi Chi*
Sparks of electricity dance around his hand and disappear as he clenches his fist.
"You don't have this. Only Hii does."
The two look on with sad faces as Grandma nods her head.
"Don't feel left out, you two. Grandma has just as much skill as Grandpa."
Grandpa nods his head, grabs a nearby ninja pouch, and starts to head out the door.
"See you guys later."
"Umu."
"Yea. Bye Grandpa. Bye Hii-nii."
The twins look a little disheartened, but I'm sure Grandma will have them excited soon enough.
******
We head to the nearby training ground and Grandpa tells me to sit down.
"Hii."
"Yes, Grandpa!"
Grandpa takes a deep breath and exhales. His gaze grows sharp like a blade as his mouth opens.
"You must know that what I'm going to teach you is not just a technique, but our heritage. Our family developed this Kenjutsu and it became one of the top Jutsu of the Cloud village in its time. Once you've learned it, use it with pride and conviction towards your missions and goals! Understood?"
"Yes, Grandpa!"
I've never heard Grandpa talk so much before! I'm excited to learn what he knows!
"You've already learned the first level of my katas, so now you'll learn how to use your Lightning Nature to access the second level."
Grandpa hand starts to spark with electriticy once again as he explains.
"How you change your chakra to Lightning Release is by making it vibrate at high speed. The higher the speed, the more powerful the lightning."
I see the lightning changed from a few sparks to his entire hand being coated in lightning!
So cool!!
"I know you've learned how to use Water release to some extent, so this shouldn't be too hard for you. Just try practicing today to see if you can manifest it."
I nod my head, but soon a thought crossed my mind.
"Grandpa? Can I use Shadow clones as well?"
Grandpa nodded his head and I got excited!
I make the handsign, but how many I should use? Four should be good enough!
Shadow Clone Jutsu!
*Poof Poof Poof Poof*
Four clones appeared nearby and sat down and meditated. I also sat down and think about how Grandpa said I should move my chakra.
I manipulate my chakra to vibrate slowly. I'll have to increase it over time to get fast enough for sparks.
An hour passes and Grandpa calls me.
"Hii. Spar with me. I want to see the skills you've developed so far."
I nod as I draw my practice sword.
I leave my clones to continue to practice as I rush towards him.
I swing my blades like I'm facing Itachi, but Grandpa just repels the attack like it's nothing!
"Our family's style of Kenjutsu is called the Stormblade. Just like a lightning filled cloud, it blocks all attacks and counter viciously like lightning. The more disordered the rhythm of the opponent, the more chances you have to end the fight cleanly and swiftly."
I listened to Grandpa and attacked again and again. My attacks went nowhere, even though I tried all sorts of techniques.
I tried to give him a over head smash with my blade, so I raised my sword over my head.
Grandpa saw the swing coming and dodged it with the least amount of effort. His blade then swung to the side of my neck in the less than a second! I couldn't do anything! My blade just finished its swing when he cut!!
As the blade was near me, I couldn't help but notice how my Grandpa's blade was glowing with crackling chakra.
"Coating your blade with Lightning chakra sharpens it, but could also make it longer."
I watched as the edge of his practice blade extended out an extra 2 feet! That's definetly for surprise attacks.
His blade stopped glowing and he put his sword away. He closed his eyes and nodded his head as he looked at me with a proud expression on his face.
"You've mastered the basics of the Stormblade. You have to get Lightning Style to perfection to move on to the next step. And if I'm lucky...."
"If you're lucky?"
Grandpa didn't continue and rubbed my head.
"Don't worry about that now. Focus on getting the hang of vibrating your chakra first."
Grandpa left me to meditate while he swung the practice sword around. His moves look so gentle, but I can sort of sense a hidden intent in the motions.
Oooooh~! I want to learn it!
[Stop smiling and get to work.]
'Ah! My bad.'
I need to stop gawking like that. I focus back on my training to get Lightning Style so I can learn those moves.
Hehehe!!! I can't wait!
*******
In another training area,
Grandma Riku had the twins go into meditation on the firmness and structure of a newly created cliff. A soft breeze quietly blew by as Moya snored and Yozora tried to grasp how Grandma made the cliff.
'Sheesh! I thought Moya would be just like me with this, but...'
Riku watched the drool on her granddaughter's lips plop down in a steady rhythm.
'....Was I that bad when I was younger?'
Riku thought more on the subject, but quickly refuted since it didn't matter anymore.
Those years were long gone.
'Hm?'
Riku turned slowly to a tree nearby and sensed a presence.
'Oh! What's he doing here?'
Riku could tell the person was looking at her and gestured him to come over.
*Swish*
Out of the trees came an Anbu soldier with a Dog mask over his face.
"Greetings, Riku-san. I have a message from Hokage-sama!"
Riku just silently went to the kneeled Anbu and ruffled his head.
"S-Stop it, Oba-san. I'm on a mission."
"Hmph! You call me Oba-san now, huh? Tell me while I'm doing this as punishment."
Kakashi couldn't hold his sigh in as he regretted losing in Janken.
He'd get Tenzo back later!
"I have a message from Kaya-san and the 4th Hokage, Ma'am."
Riku's was interested in the information, but that didn't stop her hands.
"Well dear, You better get to talking then."
Kakashi nodded his head and stood up slowly. He moved his head to Riku's ear as he delivered the message.
Moments later, Kakashi finished delivering the message and prepared to leave, but hesitated.
"You....have your leg back?!"
"Hohoho! I'm not the only one back at full capacity. Do come by sometime. The twins and Hii would love to meet you."
"....I'll think about it."
Riku's face became stern.
"Don't think about it! Do it! As if you're a stranger in our home! Di will definitely rip into you since you stopped doing Kenjutsu for silly reasons! You don't even come by anymore as if we don't allow you to come! I'll drag you over next time I see you since you feel like you're intruding! And another thing!"
"Ah! The Hokage is calling me! I have to go now, Oba-san!"
Kakashi quickly flickered away as Riku scoffed at his excuse.
"Hmph! As if Minato-chan would care if I nag you!"
Riku shook her head as she looked up at the sky.
*tssssss*
A vague sizzling could be heard as grass near Riku's feet slowly turned to ash.
Riku had a long forgotten, dreadful smile on her face.
"Looks like we've come out of retirement at the right time. I can't wait to move these old bones~."
Riku calmed her chakra and watched over the twins again. Moya was still sleep!
She sighed and struck Moya in the back of the head with a nearby pebble.
"Uwah!"
She fell forward and hit her head hard on the ground.
"Ooooooowwww....."
"Haaaa. There's a long way to go before you get strong."
Still confused on how training with shadow clones work.. I mean, like Muscle Memory wouldn't work, and since you're all training in the same thing at the same time starting with the same amount of skill in the subject.. How do you progress at any abnormal rate? Maybe it's not just sharing memories but experiencing everything (Including pain) that the Shadow Clone experiences? Dunno, I find it pretty strange.
For knowledge I perfectly understand, but for skill? Ehh, not really. For example, if I have 50 shadow clones all with amateurish skill in swordsmanship, train for 1 hour.. How would I suddenly feel like I've been training for 50 hours? All those clones experienced similar if not the same thing, so how would I progress any further than if I trained normally without any shadow clones?
It'd be like experiencing the same thing over and over again, which would only help if it built up muscle memory, which it doesn't.. Even if I disregard that fact and say the original experiences everything the clones experience, why doesn't the original experience the pain? Ya telling me the jutsu can affect the muscle memory of the original but not the actual capability of the muscle besides that? Shit's weird to me, I don't get it.
You have the shadow clones dispel every time they get it right, make more with the new knowledge, and once you have it down repetition is the only way to get better, and shadow clones would let you 'experience' doing the technique correctly many times more than otherwise. Also, he can do multiple different things at the same time, which I feel is the main draw for the technique. For instance, while training sword techniques, if it has 5 forms, 1 clone can train each form exclusively, and you'll have experienced training all 5 in 1/5th the time.
@Ploptian
Edit: Holy sh*t I just realized how much I wrote)
Okay, this is kinda funny because I almost agreed with you TWICE. But I realized something was up and kept stopping myself, and the longer I thought about it the more I realized, how that just doesn't make much sense to me.
Alright so for me, the shadow clone seems to just be a memory thing. They're not 'experiencing' the same thing necessarily. The originals would 'experience' getting stabbed then. They'd 'experience' getting sliced in half, exploding, or being disintegrated by fire Jutsu, including the sensation of it. The original would experience the PAIN. The feelings! Because of nerves and all that good junk.
Heres my little explanation:
If the original 'experienced' what the clone physically experiences, for example, let's say, COMPLETING the Rasengan by adding an element to it. What would the 'experience' be exactly? Like you can say 'experience' all you want, but what IS the 'experience'? Is it immediately after the dispel feeling the sensation of your chakra moving and weaving to form the technique? While it sounds extremely plausible, that'd also mean the original should by all accounts experience the PAIN of the shadow-clones being forced to dispel externally, aswell. I mean, if they can transfer that sensation, why not every other sensation as well? This would include but not be limited to WALKING, breathing, talking, their muscles tensing before movement, their clothes brushing up against their skin, ALL OF THAT: Would be experienced by the original the second they disperse. And since Naruto clearly isn't experiencing all that this theory isn't plausible. Atleast canonically it aint.
Now, for the 'memory' theory of the shadow clones, how would the training work then? Would the clones just remember their chakra moving around and weaving to form the technique? Unfortunately, that ain't how memory works. You don't 'remember' pain nor do you remember the sensation of silk on your fingers. This sh*t ain't viable solely because it offers no goddamn benefits besides recon. You'd remember, but that's just about it. For training, this sh*t would be useless.
So I've come to the conclusion that the only way for shadow clones to be viable is if you could immediately FEEL the sensation of getting decapitated if your clone disperses that way.
@Ploptian I'm getting carried away now..
Another thing! Because I clearly haven't written enough yet! For training sword techniques, (Going by the REASONABLE shadow clones only give memories theory) it'd just be like someone showing you how good at swordsmanship they are, but in first person. Your muscle memory wouldn't be affected at all, nor would your skill. All your knowledge regarding swordsmanship would just be like theoretical sh*t you saw on the internet. It's like watching a martial arts anime and thinking you're a skilled martial-artist now. You just can't apply what you 'Know' too well without actually doing it for yourself.
So that wraps up this clusterf*ck.
Again, I perfectly understand how the use of shadow-clones for KNOWLEDGE could be extremely useful, but for training? It doesn't make any sense and I don't think it'd even work. No matter what, it just seems silly unless the second a shadow-clone dispels the original FEELS everything the shadow clone did before they dispelled.. Even then there's bound to be issues.
Interestingly enough, I actually remember a fanfic or two making this very distinct difference, where every time a shadow-clone were to disperse through force, the protagonist would wince as he felt like he himself was hit. It's COOL! And makes sense!
@PuffGentle Yeah, canon doesn't really have a good explanation for how it works and exactly what memories you get from the clones, but what we do have is what actually works, whether it makes sense or not. Naruto, for example, uses shadow clones to train the Rasengan faster than usual, which means he gets something out of it, when chakra control is largely considered muscle memory by most of the characters. Perhaps you only get 'chakra memory'? As well as knowledge.
@PuffGentle I think you're supposed to feel and know what the clone felt. The possibility of pain overwhelming your senses is the reason why it was a forbidden technique in the anime. Though every single fanfic apparently considers it a common technique amongst jonin. Not sure at all tbh.
@PuffGentle Maybe the shadow clones don’t feel pain since they’re just chakra constructs in the end?
@Arkanon Shadow clones is common/normal. The forbidden jutsu is tajuu kage bunshin no jutsu, which stands for multiple shadow clone jutsu. That form is forbidden because the user may expend more chakra than they have creating so many clones, killing themselves.
The single shadow clone, however, is not forbidden.
@Arkanon I'd think so aswell, but Naruto never once commented on pain or anything of that sort now didn't he? My best bet is he just remembers what the clone does, or has memory of how it feels (Jutsu-Training wise) and attempts to replicate it... Somehow?
@Benw8888 Tru tru. I wouldn't put it past Kishimoto to make it so that they prolly couldn't feel pain.
But looking back a year ago, I can definitely tell I was just upset about Shadow-Clone training in general, because the whole damn thing is extremely cheap and broken (Yet, unexplainably underutilized) and undermines all hard work.
On top of that, nothing about how it improves skill and proficiency makes sense goddammit, what was Kishimoto thinking?
@PuffGentle What was Kishimoto thinking? A way to make the main character the underdog, while simultaneously powering him up very quickly in a believable way. As for why ONLY Naruto does this? It could be because jinchuuriki specifically, or maybe even the Kyuubi jinchuuriki only, can heal the extra mental and physical exhaustion caused by absorbing all that training instantly. All other jinchuuriki are not from Konoha so wouldn't have access to the shadow clone technique, and the previous 2 Kyuubi jinchuuriki were seal masters, so probably never even learned the shadow clone.
@PuffGentle as for the pain thing, Naruto (and most ninja, especially those who learn the shadow clone) would obviously have a very high tolerance for pain, and the clone simply pops if it takes too much damage so the pain would be light and well within tolerances (if they even feel pain at all)
@Ploptian Naruto only heals when he utilizes the Bijuu chakra. Other then that. he gets hospitalized like everyone else..
Also, you can't heal.. Mental fatigue/Stress.. There is nothing there to 'heal'. That's like saying Naruto can heal exhaustion. But what you said was even worse, because we wouldn't even be dealing with solid matter.

"It could be because jinchuuriki specifically, or maybe even the Kyuubi jinchuuriki only, can heal the extra mental and physical exhaustion caused by absorbing all that training instantly."
No physical training transfers tho, so where does the physical exhaustion come from? 🤨
And no not really.
Other characters regularly make use of shadow-clones. Especially Kakashi. There was even a random genin who was using like 3-4 at a time just to launch a lackadaisical attack in the Manga..
Against other leaf-nin mind you. So not leaf affiliated.
_____________________________________
"All other jinchuuriki are not from Konoha so wouldn't have access to the shadow clone technique"
Both Killer Bee & Darui are on record using Shadow-Clones. It got leaked unsurprisingly.
Nobody ever really uses it for training except Naruto. Because plot.
The backlash is also exclusive to when one is training with an absurd amount of clones like Naruto is.
Naruto just takes a small break and gets back to it.
Tie in the amount of clones Naruto uses, his Jin status not passively helping him, and his relatively quick recovery, it's pretty obvious that the backlash is low-end at best and is easily worth the tradeoff.
Kakashi is also aware of this backlash, so someone has done Naruto's form of training before. It was clearly safe since Kakashi never once tried to stop Naruto from doing it.
But nobody does it at all now. We don't even see someone using one or two for training purposes lmfao.
It's underutilized for no reason.
Hiruzen doesn't use it, Tsunade doesn't use it, Sasuke doesn't use it, Sakura doesn't use it.
They all know the technique. They know how useful it is, and atleast half the people here can easily mitigate it's effects even if for some reason they required a whole ass healing factor.
But nobody uses it unless it's for recon and attack purposes. It's yet another plot-hole, along the many that litter the franchise.
@PuffGentle How about this: other people can use shadow clones, but it doesnt help them very much, for one reason: a ninja’s limiting factor for training could potentially be their chakra.
Creating a shadow clone uses some base chakra, and then for the clone to use jutsu it needs to use just as much chakra as the original would’ve. Therefore, if you only have enough chakra to perform a technique X times per day, using shadow clones does not help you go over X.
This is not a problem for naruto as he has so much chakra his limiting factor is time instead of chakra.
The only areas where my argument doesnt work is for knowledge-based skills like “reading books”. And for that, maybe shadow clones truly do help, but considering the mental strain and chakra cost of creating a clone, maybe its not worth it for many shinobi??
(Still a bit of a plot hole but not as much).
@Benw8888 I don't see how Shadow-Clones wouldn't help a sh*t ton. Assuming we're still on topic here and we're discussing like, fighting capability.
"a ninja's limiting factor for training could potentially be their chakra."
Wat?
"Creating a shadow clone uses some base chakra, and then for the clone to use jutsu it needs to use just as much chakra as the original would've. Therefore, if you only have enough chakra to perform a technique X times per day, using shadow clones does not help you go over X."
Just makin sure I get it.. I think you're tryna say that average Shinobers cannot use Shadow-Clones for training, because they can only perform their Jutsu a certain amount of times regardless. Especially accounting for the cost of a clone.
—oOo—
It's a good point but.. That's assuming that.. The method of training we're thinking about here is only "Ninjutsu/Genjutsu" and if all the Ninjas in Naruto literally functioned like Video-Game characters.
I mean, it's not about repeating it thousands of times, it's about understanding more about the technique.. Which isn't necessarily achieved solely by repeating it more and more.
If we're thinking a different scenario such as someone trying to learn a new Jutsu, it's a solid point, but it's still off..
Clone-Training CUTS the time YOU personally have to be preoccupied training into halves, thirds, and sometimes fourths and fifths. If not gets rid of that time entirely, so you can go into your masturbatorium or something.
_______________________
The whole advantage of Shadow-Clone training is reducing the time it takes to learn or train a skill.
Even if ultimately the cost of the Shadow-Clone reduces the amount of times you can cast the Jutsu by 1 or 2; you still ran out of chakra quicker. You still basically trained for 1 hour, despite only being there for 30 minutes.
"This is not a problem for naruto as he has so much chakra his limiting factor is time instead of chakra."
No, it's not a problem for ANYONE because everyone's goal is to spend less time training, but still get the same results.
Shadow Clones are a giant f*cking cheat, that is clearly not well hidden, but is underutilized anyway.. It's a massive Plot Hole, which is just a cherry atop the Bukkake for me, because my biased ass just hates the Jutsu as a whole 🤣🤣
@PuffGentle Naruto does in fact heal faster than pretty much anyone else in the entire series, besides a few people. Also, it may just be fanon and not canon, but I'm pretty sure Kurama heals Naruto actively when he's younger, and the healing factor could also be because he's part Uzumaki. Exhaustion can be healed, both physical and mental, as the body already heals both automatically, and magic wumbo-jumbo could easily supercharge natural healing, it's not even a stretch.
@Ploptian Err, I suppose he does? Probably? Compared to normal people he probably would heal faster... He has redhead genes after all. All I'm saying is that Naruto has been hospitalized before and does get injured and has to recuperate.
The only times we've seen him actively heal wounds, and not have to go through the standard recovery process is when he started getting using the Jin's Chakra.. Or just really specific moments in the story... Like when he stabbed his hand to prove a point during the Wave-Mission. It switches back and forth tbh.
Kurama's whims or yet another plot-hole!
"Exhaustion can be healed, both physical and mental, as the body already heals both automatically, and magic wumbo-jumbo could easily supercharge natural healing, it's not even a stretch."
Exhaustion is not an injury, and your body doesn't "Heal exhaus-" you know what. Never mind.
@PuffGentle It isn't an injury (except for muscle tearing from exercise) but mental exhaustion is essentially over-stressed neurons, and physical exhaustion is mainly acid buildup, and the body heals them by not using them and allowing them to rest, essentially "returning to their normal state" which is what magical healing wumbo-jumbo is all about. I'll admit it doesn't make sense scientifically, but neither does having a metaphysical network inside your body that produces energy that can throw fireballs and such.
@PuffGentle How about a non-canon theory: Naruto has the soul of Asura, which allows him to handle much more clone stress? It’s unclear what the relation between mind and soul is. Maybe I could have a head-canon where shadow clones involve a bit of soul-stuff (does chakra contain pieces of your soul? Bijus seem to have their soul contained in chakra), so the “mind stress” could actually be soul stress.
Now this definitely isnt what Kishimoto thought, but I like this explanation.
@Ploptian Physical exhaustion has nothing to do with acid buildup. What the hell? Fatigue and sore muscles are different things.
Its lack of use is a plot hole. I don't understand why you're trying so hard to justify it lmao
@Benw8888 How about u just accept the fact that kishimoto isn't perfect and plot holes f*cking exist?
All these theory crafted scientific hypothesis mean absolutely nothing if there's no evidence to corroborate it.
If Kishimoto's neurons were clicking together properly he'd have explained or at least indicated to a proper reason why only Naruto can use it for training purposes. (While everyone else has no problem using it for attack and intelligence gathering, lol)
Even if I entertain the idea that only Naruto can easily recover from fatigue, whilst others would struggle more. Its still worth the payout if u can go train ur physical body, and train all ur other skills, at the same time in a fraction of the time.
It isn't rocket science.
@PuffGentle the only evidence the source material provides is that Naruto can use shadow clones to train faster. That is also, coincidentally, the evidence we're using to create a theory on how tf it works. Even though they're hypotheses and not theories, as there's no way to test them.
@PuffGentle Yeah dude I’m not arguing that Kishimoto created a world without plot holes. I specifically mentioned that “this definitely isnt what Kishimoto thought”. I just think its more interesting to try and create a logically consistent world that aligns with canon as much as possible. Going “Kishimoto is dumb and all the ninja are dumb for not using this technique” is just not as interesting to me as creating a reason to explain why actions could be logical.
@Benw8888 Aye, if you're trying to rationalize this, best of luck. I've already played this game before lmfao, all attempts to justify this fukfest comes at the cost of something else.
Lets go with the main one.
"Ah yes, only Naruto can handle the mental backlash"
So Naruto must have a weird regen factor that didn't exist before, that somehow heals every mundane affliction that may be even slightly misconstrued as "Injury".
That's a 🔥🔥🔥 theory. But we might as well just give Naruto total bodily manipulation then..
And as a continuation. What do we do about all the hundred other people who know the Shadow-Clone Technique and regularly apply it for Recon and Assault? Do they all just keel over as soon as the clone dispels? 🤣 Just instant concussion?
I was gonna move onto scenario 2 but realized that this is literally the only theory that makes even a small modicum of sense, now ainnit? It all boils down to "Mental Backlash". Which even in canon was lackluster at best.
I can think of two ways to justify it.
__________________________
One theory is:{
Nobody else in the entire verse actually cared or was committed to the idea of getting stronger. They said: "Oh I have a schedule to manage all my trainings for the week, sure I could probably advance in techniques thrice as fast, and learn twice as much, but what's the rush? "
Basically nobody in the verse sacrifices or truly cares for power, and are okay with their slower development, whilst Naruto speeds on ahead.
}
—oOo—
And the other theory:{
Kakashi knows of someone else who attempted Shadow-Clone training.
The backlash had to have killed the guy or at least was so bad it was somehow less efficient than standard training. Lets say the Shadow-Clone-Method caused this mystery Ninja to be out of commission for.. Days? Weeks?
Kakashi knew of this yet still let Naruto go through with the training because he aint give a f*ck (Which would also mean no one else who knew cared either)
Somehow, clones being summoned for intelligence gathering, recon, fighting or strategizing, all use absolutely zero brainpower. And somehow that part is just an entirely unexplained loophole
Naruto would also have to have the craziest, most potent healing factor of all time. He'd have to have a regen that can heal all ailments, even if it isn't solid matter and wouldn't be regarded as an injury. Such as stress, mental-exhaustion and fatigue.
}
Damn, those are some real rational theories, hm? Would fit right at home in official lore lmfao
@PuffGentle I mean, nice theories bro, but what if shadow clones change the amount and type of information based on what you need and/or can handle, because chakra is sentient? Also AFAIK Naruto literally does have full body manipulation, his sexy no jutsu or w/e changes his body and voice, and literally no one uses it in canon other than Konohamaru, whose voice doesn't change? Best explanation I have for that is from another fanfic, where since the Kyuubi is a fox, and foxes are shapeshifters, he can do it for some reason? But yeah, total body manipulation.
@Ploptian "I mean, nice theories bro"
I hope this was sarcasm otherwise you just hurt my f*ckin feelings 🤣
And I can't nor want, to even begin dissecting whatever the hell that part about the Clones mean or would entail.
__________________
Full body manipulation via henge? Not really unique to Naruto tho. The whole turning into other objects shtick has been done by other people too.. somehow.
(Of course the fact that the Henge is supposedly just a f*ckin E-Rank Supplementary illusion has been completely disregarded. That's just par the course for Kishimoto and Ukyo Kodachi.)
Sasuke does the Transforming-Henge later.. somehow.. Some way.. But Sasuke literally just turns into a functioning Rasenshuriken, how the hell does that work?
Boruto even did it at one point.. He henged into Sasuke's f*ckin SWORD at one point. Hell Sasuke THROWS him.
And just like everything else in the Naruto Franchise It goes completely unused lmfao. There's so many Jutsu in Naruto I think should just be completely revamped for fanfics or ret-conned entirely. (And some of these actually were ? (?))
Shunshin for one, that sh*t is basically just a party trick now lmfao. Kawarimi is both broken and makes no sense (How does anyone ever die if they can just swap places with sh*t willy nilly?)
It's so damn busted, they basically made the Kawarimi Sasuke's Rinnegan ability, because yes. It is just that good.
@PuffGentle I genuinely meant nice theories as they're certainly as solid as any other. As for kawarimi, it's never explained exactly how it works, so it could just be an optical illusion where you just move really fast and put a log in your place, like shunshin but twice. Speaking of shunshin, yeah that it way too under utilized, though it could be because of random nuances with the jutsu that make it unusable in combat for most ninja, and people like Shisui just have the raw talent for it. I never watched Boruto so I don't include anything from that for anything. Henge... I don't remember anyone other than Naruto using it as something other than a non-physical illusion, so that's on me.
