My consciousness was almost going away, but together with those two news skills, it snapped back right where it was.

I take a few seconds to process what happened, taking big breaths while I do so. My head still hurts a little from the shock.

I look again at the rabbit and the hand he’s chewing on, this time, I doesn’t seem I’ll pass out, but my stomach is definitely not reacting well, I need to leave this area before I throw up whatever is inside my stomach right now.

I quickly begin hopping like a rabbit away from there, only to face a thing that looks that it came out of my nightmares.

A battlefield, or what’s left of one.

Everywhere I look I see corpses lying on the ground and a lot of rabbits just eating the corpses like they’re nothing more than grass on the ground.

Everything starts to get black, my consciousness begins to fade. I desperately try to keep myself up, it’s taking everything I’ve got and more.

Together with the announcement my consciousness snaps back to normal and I stare at the battlefield.

The smell of blood hit my nose, but instead of throwing up like I always did when I saw or smelled blood, it somewhat made me hungry, and it’s scaring me for real, I don’t know if this hunger is because I’m a rabbit or because I’m a dragon.

I quickly turn my head in another direction and see small village, it’s too far away to see from here, but it looks okay.

Wait, if there’s people on that village, and there’s this amount of rabbits here, won’t the rabbits make their way to the village? Won’t they kill people?! I can’t let this happen, I need to do something, I don’t know what, something.

Why don’t I kill them? The thought passes through my mind.

Kill them? Me? Kill? Am I insane? Yeah, that’s probably it, I mean, look at this battlefield, it’s more like a cemetery than an actual battlefield.

The smell of blood continues to strike my nose and making me hungry.

I need answers right now, at least, first, is the scent of blood making me hungry a side-effect of this rabbit transformation? I need to go back to my dragon body.

Taking a few deep breaths, I deactivate [True Mimic], heat and pain runs through my body, I can feel my bones and muscles being torn apart and rearranged to a new form, I scream in my mind, because I can’t control my body while it’s in the middle of this.

It took a few agonizing moments but I’m back to my dragon form.

I take a few breaths to recover from the pain, I don’t know why the skill [Pain Reduction] didn’t work, shouldn’t I feel a little less pain? Or it’s so excessive the skill can’t mitigate properly?

Maybe I could see what the [Knowledge Library] tells me about it.

[Skill [Pain Reduction] makes possible the user to work around the pain]

Huh?

I don’t get it, care to explain again?

[Skill [Pain Reduction] makes possible the user to work around the pain]

Can’t you give me any more information?

No?

Okay.

That’s fine, I guess.

Anyway, I guess the [Pain Reduction] skill actually doesn’t help with the pain? I don’t know, but it sounds like it.

Lost in thoughts I notice some rabbits from the battlefield looking at me.

Huh? Why are they looking at me?

Oh, I forgot, I’m not a rabbit anymore. That probably means they see me as a meal?

But…really?

Look around you, there’s tons of food right under your foot.

No? You’re after me? Of course you are, why wouldn’t you be?

The rabbits start to jump aiming their horns at me.

I freak out remembering what happened to me on my first encounter with one of those horns. I can’t stay just waiting here, so I do the only logical thing I came up with.

I start running to the village.

But my movements are not very agile, differently than with the rabbit body, [True Mimic] doesn’t give me a “how to operate your body” kind of information, so I’m stuck with what I’ve got.

My wings are just randomly flapping around as I cannot control them properly, so they’re just creating drag, slowing me down even more.

I won’t be able to get to the village in time, I need to do something quick.

Looking around while running I can only see corpses and more corpses, how am I not passing out, I don’t know, maybe it’s because of those two skills [Faint Resistance] and [Abnormal Mental Condition Resistance], to make matters worse, I don’t feel anything while I look at the corpses, it’s freaking me out even more.

I notice some barricades further ahead, if I can jump over it, I might be able to escape, but it’s too high, I won’t be able to do it.

Wait, there’s some horse corpses over there, if I can use the human’s corpses and then the horse bodies to gain some height, I might be able to jump over, at least I hope.

I change directions and head over those bodies, it’ll be a close call, the rabbits are getting closer.

I jump at the first corpse, landing at its chest, and jump again, at the same time I jump I hear a CRACK, I don’t know what was it, but I don’t want to look.

I land in the cadaver of the horse, but I loose balance and almost fall, I’ve managed to keep myself on top of it by sticking my claws in the body, it slashed a little, but it stopped, making me stop falling as well.

The sensation of my claws slashing through a body was awful, but I couldn’t think about it now.

Putting more strength in my legs, I manage to climb the horse again and jump the barricade.

I land in my front paws successfully.

That’s what I wish happened, the truth is, the moment my paws make contact with the ground, it slides, making my paws slide with it, making me falls face first on the ground.

I take a little to get up, recovering from the fall, but the moment I get up, I start running again.

My goal?

The village further ahead.
