Chapter 2: Endless Regret Part 2
The person who entered their home was a tall man. His face was chiseled like an artwork, and his eyes showed tenderness and care. He was the perfect image of the flower boy.
When he walked to the two, Liu Fei Fei's eyes glimmered in delight. But it was the opposite for Lu Chen. He glared viciously, "Why are you here, Long Shen?!"
Lu Chen knew who he was. The two went to the same school. But more than that, he was Liu Fei Fei's ex-boyfriend.
He smirked at Lu Chen, "Why am I here? For my wife, of course." He walked past Lu Chen toward Liu Fei Fei and embraced her.
"I'm here now, my Fei'er." He whispered gently into her ears as he kissed her lips.
Liu Fei Fei didn't resist the kiss. Instead, she wrapped her arms around his neck to make the kiss more intimate. This intimate scene left Lu Chen in shock and despair. He roared,
"LONG SHEN, GET AWAY FROM MY WIFE!"
As they stopped kissing, Long Shen looked at him and began laughing. It was as if he was spectating a clown in a circus, "Haha, your wife? When has Liu Fei Fei ever been your wife?"
"..."
Lu Chen knew he married Liu Fei Fei, but that was only on paper. Did he have her heart? Her action a few minutes ago was enough of an answer for him.
From Lu Chen's silence, Long Shen continued, "The only reason you were able to marry my wife was that you threatened to kill yourself. She did it out of family obligations and pity. Nothing more, nothing less."
"..." He didn't want to believe it. There was a tiny ounce of hope in his heart that Liu Fei Fei married him wasn't out of pity. But Long Shen's words left Lu Chen in a harsher silence, devastated by this revelation.
"Lu Chen, you said you would give Liu Fei Fei the endless happiness she deserved, right? Well, I'll show you how she can truly be happy."
Lu Chen looked up, wondering what could make Liu Fei Fei happy. That was his objective his entire life.
Long Shen smiled, "She could only be happy by my side." He wanted to see how shattered Lu Chen would be after he said this.
"No...No!" Lu Chen's mind finally broke.
"I took your company, your wealth. But there is one thing I wanted from you: my Fei Fei." Long Shen's words made Liu Fei Fie blush.
Lu Chen's mind broke even more from his words. Everything was gone. All of it was due to his obsession with his wife.
Long Shen let go of Liu Fei Fei from his grasp. He pulled out a gun. He got closer to Lu Chen, "You were a frog trying to eat swan meat. Go repent in the afterlife."
Before he pulled the trigger, he whispered in Lu Chen's ear, "And by the way: even if you guys were married, I was the one who took her first time. You will always be nothing but second place."
Long Shen mocked Lu Chen one last time as he pulled the trigger!
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
The bullets pierced Lu Chen's body.
Blood began to splurt from each hole, littering the floor with blood.
Lu Chen's consciousness began to fade as blood leaked from his body.
Just once. Please, just once. Lu Chen stared at Liu Fei Fei with sorrow and despair; he just wanted a sliver of warmth from his love in his final moments.
However, she embraced Long Shen, disregarding him as if he wasn't there.
It's all my fault.
Before Lu Chen's consciousness darkened, he thought about everything that had happened in his life. His coldness toward his parents and arrogance toward those who cared for him.
They were all gone. Lu Chen's company, his money, and his family. All of it was stolen away from him. What he got from it was a wife that didn't care for him.
Endless regret piled up as his mind faded into the darkness.
damn author ... you divided the suffering in two parts to hurt more. I think it made you lose a little of the immersion, but if you wanted it like that then I can't criticize. some parts were more separated and lost a little of the impact, in general ok. Congratulations on restarting!

Ok, it clicked a little more the second time. It is HIS fault that this happened to him...while it does suck for his wife to do this to him. I can now understand a little better why she did. Got it.

Ok, this is the first I've read and I'm bored so I'm typing a review.
I DO NOT THINK THE MC IS SCUM!
HE CLEARLY HAS PROBLEMS AND NOT ONE PERSON HAS ADDRESSED THEM!
The MC is only known to have an obsession towards his wife. Through context clues we can find out that he is EXTREMELY competent. In the previous chapter the narrator said that he would complete ANY of his wife's requests, no matter how impossible. In this chapter it is revealed that he owns a company, most likely his parent's company, since last chapter mentioned an arranged marriage between his and his wife's families. He gave up everything he owned to make his wife happy and she never returned his affection.
His wife is only mentioned to have no affection for him since before they were married.
In this chapter Long Shen appears and admits to having taken everything the MC had. His company and his wife specifically, but there's probably a lot more that will be mentioned later. Long Shen then kisses Liu Fei Fei and shoots the MC twelve times.
In this context and in this type of story, I think that Long Shen is a jealous asshole who seduced Liu Fei Fei years ago, but didn't have the standing to slap Lu Chen's face and get away with it, so he took advantage of Lu Chen's obsession with her and had her order him to do impossible things and generally sabotage him mentally.
Having said all that, I don't think any of the three are good people.
Lu Chen was an obsessive man who threatened to kill himself if Liu Fei Fei didn't marry him. He tried his best to make her love him and failed. He claimed to be cold to his parent's and arrogant to those who cared for him. We haven't gotten any reasonings but it was most likely how he was raised. He obviously had a problem but either pride or fear made it so no one tried to fix it.
Liu Fei Fei is someone I can't fully connect with but she was in a bad position too. She was forced into a marriage with a madman who threatened to kill himself if she didn't. Then that same madman constantly hounded her to try to make her love him. She told him to do impossible things and he SUCCEEDED. At some point she meets Long Shen and he seduces her. She then watches as he murders her husband of the last six years.
Long Shen came into the room and Lu Chen has a negative reaction to him. Long Shen then admits to stealing Lu Shen's company, f*cking his wife, and proceeds to put twelve new holes in Lu Shen. Personally I hate these kinds of bastards and promise them a place in the depths of hell. Impersonally, I can see how people could think he's a badass.
That's the end of my rant, you can insult my opinions in the replies.
I didn't read these comments before writing. I felt the previous chapters comment was all blaming Lu Chen without evidence but this one seems more calm. You may continue insulting my analysis.

Well, personally don't really care who is in the right and who's in the wrong. Just make the mc badass and give me lots of seggs scenes and I am sold. Always remember: HISTORY IS WEITTEN BY WINNERS, no one actually cares what you did to win.

Well even if he was forceful he still doesn't deserve this.
Both parties are at fault, imo, and need(ed) counciling, but I do think that the ‘wife’s’ response was way too much. I do think that the ‘ex-boyfriend’ was doing his best to manipulate the situation to his advantage. If not those two could have just said this to the MC without the bloodshed, and much earlier.
