Third Arc (Fallen Heart) - 86. The Cold King's Romance I

After Rose left, Angel took a couple of deep breaths to calm himself down. Yet his heart was still beating fast. He wanted to go after her and talk to her more. But as a king, he had kept his composure and prioritized his duty first. He even didn't show any exaggeration and his expression remained cold.

Although that wasn't enough to calm himself completely, he returned his gaze to the Chancellor. It was getting dark, he couldn't possibly keep Chancellor Allan waiting too long.
"Do you want to talk about Pearl Gate City?" he guessed. Otherwise, the Chancellor should have left the report to the twins.

But Chancellor Allan didn't answer. A strange smile on his lips, made Angel frown in confusion. Indeed the Chancellor was shocked but he was happy since the royal couple's relationship was more intimate than he had expected. At least this was the first time he had seen the royal couple kissing.

"Chancellor?" Angel called him one more time and it started him.

Chancellor Allan quickly returned to his composure.
"Uh, yes, Your Majesty."

"Did you hear me?" he asked.

"Yes. Yes, of course," he tried to say as confidently as he could. It would be rude if he said no.

"What did I say?" Judging from The Chancellor's response, Angel doubted what he said.

Chancellor Allan was silent, trying to remember what Angel had said. But he couldn't. He was too shocked before.
"Um... Forgive me, Your Majesty. I didn't know," Chancellor Allan said, bowing his head in guilt. This was the first time he had made this kind of mistake.

"Do you want to talk about Pearl Gate City?" Angel repeated.

"Yes, Your Majesty."

"Follow me. We'll discuss this in my study room." He decided to take this to a more private place so he could talk more freely.

As Angel strode into the study room, the Chancellor followed him by his side.
"Your Majesty, I'm glad your relationship with Princess Rose is going well," he said happily.

"I told you, you were too worried," said Angel casually. As if it was a usual thing for him, although he was also shocked by it.

"But I think you should take her to a better dating place. Somewhere more romantic. Like an opera house, a park or something like that." Since their relationship was better than he expected, instead of giving the list directly, The Chancellor decided to give him his idea. That way he could suggest the place specifically.

The Chancellor's suggestion made Angel turn to him.
"Is that what a normal couple do these days?" He had never been on a date before and had never been interested in it. To make it worse, he had been used to his busy life as a royal family since he was young.

"Your Majesty, have you never dated before?" Chancellor Allan asked.

"Never."

"What about when you were Prince of Asteria?" Since he already knew Angel's origin, he thought Angel should have at least some basic knowledge of this.

His thoughts returned to his past. Thinking again, in the past, he had hardly thought of anything other than his duty.
"My duty took up most of my time so I didn't have time to do that." Well, think twice, it was kinda the same as now. Somehow it made him realize he had dedicated his entire life to his responsibilities or honing his fighting skills.

"What did you do in your free time?"

"Mostly reading books, practicing my sword skills or looking for clues about my father's death."

"I see..." His words made Chancellor Allan remember the late King of Asteria's mysterious death. It was similar to the late Prince Lucian's death.

'Is that the reason why the late Prince entrusted the throne to him? Because they share the same fate?' thought Chancellor Allan. With his mind occupied with a lot of things, somehow Chancellor Allan could understand why Angel didn't understand anything about romance. It also explained why the king didn't seem to care much about things related to him in the past.

"But, are you interested in dating elsewhere? I mean you can't keep bringing her to the training ground," Chancellor Allan said.

"Do you have any ideas?" asked Angel. He realized what Chancellor Allan had said was right. At some point, they had to spend time doing other things.

"I do. I believe this can help you, Your Majesty."
