Jasmine opened her eyes and saw that Lex's eyes popped open moments later.

She had been asleep with her head on his lap.

"Oh! You're awake!" she said as she quickly sat up

"I wasn't asleep in the first place. I was cultivating" he answered

"Oh. Ummm what are we going to do today? It looks like we'll have to fight for out lives her every day" she said

"Don't worry. I've handled it" he said, getting up.

He led the people out of the butte and they all gasped.

What once was desert as far as the eyes can see, now there were gigantic vines growing everywhere, yet leaving a path for them to follow.

A plant usually requires not only sunlight, which the desert has plenty of, but also water and nutrients, which would be hard for a succulent plant.

However, as the people followed the path behind Lex and Jasmine, they could see impaled giant centipedes, giant spiders, giant bees, giant ants and other gigantic insects all along the path, all dried up and drained of their internal juices.

"That's Ivy's ability. I let her run wild yesterday" Lex explained.

He looked at his stats and said "Level up" and a cacophony of bells rung at the same time.

Several people in the crowd activated their amulets before gasping.

Lex looked at his stats and started using his points.

3. Special Abilities
- Swordfighting

Lex frowned. Even Jasmine has swordfighting as her skills after minimal training with him. But his skills aren't acknowledged?

Perhaps that's a good thing. Maybe the difficulty of the tower might be cranked up if the Tower reacts to his abilities.

He also noted that she didn't have any other skills like "acting" or "sex" or something. Perhaps the Tower also does not acknowledge skills from before. He would guess Dr Nathan's medical skills won't be shown too.

He checked on the other scouts and discovered that some of the groups of people that didn't train with him had survived and already gone to the next floor.

Furthermore, the group that did train with him, but opted to take their own path was a day ahead of them, and would reach the teleportation portal to the next level earlier than them.

His shadow clones and Ivy had already wiped out all the giant insect enemies from this whole floor, making it easy for them to go to the next level.

However, Lex's group was large, and consisted of the weaker people who wanted to be protected, not explore like the other groups.

So Lex slowed down the group, included training with Soldier, Amazon and Valkyrie along the way.

He noted that the other groups would probably have gotten more experience and become seasoned warriors, while his group were full of pampered and protected people.

Not that he blamed them of course. They were unwillingly brought into the Tower, and had gone through hell surviving thus far. They also witnessed over 80% of the people who came with them killed, as there were originally 10,000 people who had entered initially.

Ivy suddenly showed up from the shadows.

"What... what happened?" Lex asked, looking at her.

She appeared to be injured, with half her left arm below the elbow missing, and had a large gash across her chest, slicing through her breasts, a hole in her left thigh and even a slash across her neck.

Of course as a plant, these were not fatal wounds, and as a shadow clone, she didn't react to pain.

But it concerned Lex that there was something that could injure Ivy like that, as she was a Level 7!

He healed her shadow form and decided to read her mind directly.

In his mind, he saw her investigating an area where her vines were being consistently destroyed.

To her surprise, she found that a guy in jeans and black hoodie was being protected by several giant ants.

Lex found the vision strange, because he had clearly instructed Ivy not to attack humans, only the bugs.

But as the guy fought, his hoodie opened and it revealed that he had two small antanae sticking out of his forehead, and his eyes were like that of a fly's!

Ivy appeared and stopped her vines, attempting to talk to him when she felt danger and blocked.

Her left arm was severed and she was attacked so fast, even her memory failed to see the attacks.

Her arm and chest were slashed and her vines managed to protect and deflect the next attack, making the attack stab her thigh rather than her chest.

As she held her neck and looked up, the man had already fled, riding on what looked like a giant wasp that was 2 meters tall. It looked more deadly than the bees they fought, and standing above her was a powerful looking humanoid ant!

She fled into the shadows as the ant being stabbed the earth where her body was multiple times, faster than the eye could see.

That was the last she saw the man or his insects.

Lex snapped out of her memories and frowned. Was this guy a friend or foe. Was he the reason the insects attacking them were harder than normal?

2 days later, after more training on the way, Lex's group arrived at the portal to the next floor.

To his surprise, the Harlot that should be monitoring here was missing.

He summoned her again and quickly checked her memory.

In her memories, the insect guy had appeared with his wasp, ant and a female that looked partially like a spider and left through the portal a few days ago.

The ant detected the Harlot and instantly killed her with uncanny speed.

"This guy again" Lex frowned.

"You seem to be frowning quite alot lately. Is anything alright?" Jasmine asked

"Yes..everything is fine" he said, sending in his scouts as a precaution.
