After looking up some information on when schooling starts, I found out that I have about as long as Midoriya did in the show to train, before the UA entrance exam. 'I need to make a list of what I need to do.'
1.Write as much as I know about all the main cast and storyline in order
2.Figure out how to use my quirk
3.Train my quirk/body
4.Come up with a costume, and tools to aid my quirk
I wrote down the list, and noticed it was in kanji; I knew how to read and write kanji. I just prayed that I could speak it as well, otherwise I’d have a lot of problems to deal with. I went to my room, and sat at my desk. I found a notebook and started to write down the hero’s I knew about, after them were the villains. I only watched up to season 5 of the show, so all the info of pertinent big events went in. I decided to take pictures of the pages and put them on a secure file on my phone so I could see them wherever I needed. I've always believed in ‘If something is important, have two of it’.
After all that was done I took a look at the time, and it was about noon. My stomach rumbled as I felt hunger pains of having forgotten breakfast, and lunch right around the corner. I put the book back into one of the desk drawers under some other papers, and loose junk to keep it from being too noticeable. I got up and went to the kitchen to notice a sore lack of just about anything to eat.
I decided to leave the apartment to buy some groceries. I don’t like to cook as it took time out of my day to do so, but Japanese food always seemed quick in comparison of American cuisine. Cook rice, cook meat, and make broth; done. I found the keys, and my wallet then went outside for the first time in this new world. The light was blinding after spending hours writing in my room, so it took a few seconds to adjust.
Once my eyes were finished adjusting I took a look around. I was on the second floor of this apartment building facing a small parking lot for about 10 cars max, the driveway was in the center, so 5 cars on each half of the lot. ‘This was a very small complex’ I locked my door and saw 201 on it. ‘Nice to know I have a corner room. I hate being in between two neighbors.’ I went to a convenience store and picked up about 3 bags of ingredients and 1 of either premade, or snack food. I came back and ate some of the pre-made stuff before thinking of how to use my quirk before registration.
A singular japanese dish does indeed usually not take as long as western food. But a normal Japanese MEAL?! Dude they have like a ton of different dishes with every meal, usually. It takes SOOO much more time than western food.
Ehh, "western" doesn't really describe any one country/cultural cuisine. French food is well known to be pretty complex worldwide whereas compared to say Nordic cuisine. Prepping food the right way can also significantly reduce the time to cook or bake so it's difficulty is somewhat skill based. Some people are better at cooking while other not so much.
It's kinda of a false equivalency, because a lot of the skill involved in cooking is relative to a lot variables such as equipment, general knowledge, recipes (before the internet especially), or even the temperature/humidity when baking.
For example, southern american barbecue is well known for "slow and low" meaning hours of cooking times and at low smokey temps with loads of prep but is mostly hands off while cooking. The skill entry-level might be higher for any one cuisine type but it's different for each person.

The punctuation and verb tenses are a bit... Iffy, at times, but otherwise very good start.
‘If something is important, have two of it'
*Proceeds to start two different families, and also considers how to obtain a second heart.*
Cook rice, cook meat, and make broth; done
- American cuisine are faster to make than Japanese cuisine - toast bread add jam make sandwiches and done
Uh.. i think he wanted proper food, not that pbj isn't proper bu- you know what i mean.
‘If something is important, have two of it’.
so that's why there is a harem tag
490 words?! really?! that's not even half a page! shameless.
Damn. A gaijin manage to go out and buy stuff in supermarket just after awakened in futuristic another world. Damn.
Im native to my town and barely go out due to lack of interesting activity. With high gas prices, lack of public transportation, and no friends, hanging out isn't quite satisfying.
said he went to a convenience store, not a supermarket, its the same as the difference between walmart(or equivalent) and Dollar (Tree/General/Store/insert name here)
@Galuxia well, supermarket is mistake in word choice.
I know Convenience store (or combining in Japanese) is everywhere in Japan, I watched YouTube video about distribution zoning of important buildings that within walking distance.
But going to buy things there just right after awakened ? And deducing apartment size in Japan by car lots like it's freaking American ?
At least the car size in Japan will be noted, they're freakishly smaller and more barebone functional than American and European as the rule and taxes dictate. SUV is rare in Japan, because of it's weight and engine, it's taxed more than sedan. Sometimes they use faux-SUV, a SUV look-alike but isnt due to body size and engine isn't as big as SUV.
Not to mention that MC ignore the fresh meal In combini like bento/curry/ramen/salad/spaghetti/sausages/etc.
If someone don't like to cook, they would always try to find something interesting in the convenience store. And now, if the convenience store actually serve those fresh meal, that person will definitely forget trying to cook, at least for the day.
TINY! THAT'S U!
Nnnoooooooooo!!!!
You bastard!
