*EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE———-*

There was a loud ringing in her ears. It was so loud, it was the only thing that Jennifer could hear at the moment.

Her eyes barely worked at all.

Cloudy forms of shapeless grays, dominated the landscape out in front of her.

It was like being blurry eyed after a nap and being congested with allergies, all while being underwater at the same time.

But out of all the gray and shapeless blobs in the room.

She knew the one she was directly looking at was the one she needed to get too.

“……R……a……l…...ts…………”

Her voice barely strong enough to function: it burnt with fiery coals, for her to get out what she had said just now.

Jennifer tensed her muscle to try standing.

*THROB*

UUUUUGGGGGRRRRRRR!

She couldn’t move.

She wanted to, but she just couldn’t.

Her arms and legs; even her torso and neck failed her at the moment.

All of it felt dead.

Like the body she was in was not her own.

All Jennifer wanted to do was stop moving. Give into the pain. And go to sleep.

She wanted that.

More than anything.

But even more important than her own want. Was a need.

A need to do something.

Jennifer tried calling once again.

“……R…..a……l………ts…………”

*EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-snap-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE*        *EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-snap-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE*    *EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-snap-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE*

Over the sound of the constant white noise.

She could hear a small, but powerful noise going off at the same time.

But, more than hear it.

She felt it.

The literal restraints holding back her body fell away. She could fell herself become free with every “snap” she heard.

But, the issue was. They were also the exact saw restraints that were holding her up as well.

*EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-SNAP-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE*

With the last restraint broken. Nothing was there to hold her in place anymore.

She tensed her muscles just a bit.

More fire burned its way through her nerves. Every muscle

Currently in motion or flexing, throbbed as if they were hit with a think branch.

*THUD* *THUMP* *THUMP*

More pain.

Hard and blunt, as she fell to the floor.

Ironically. She welcomed this pain.

It was different.

It wasn’t constant ache through her whole body, which made protest of all her movements.

This was a scratching pain.

A pulsing pain.

One she could feel on specific parts of her body.

Her head.

Her chest.

It hurt to breath a little. With her chest pressed against the floor.

She felt it.

She felt the want again.

Stronger this time.

The want to stay.

The want to stop.

More than anything: she wanted to sleep.

*BA-DUMP*

         *BA-THUMP*

But…… the need pulsed stronger.

She needed to go.

Needed……. To get to her destination.

“…………R……………R-…Ra………lts…………”

Burning, raspy, fire.

*DRAG* *SCRAP*

Throbbing, aching, searing.

*DRAG* *SCRAP*

“………….R….— R…a…l…ts……”

Torturous.

*SCRAP*

Searing!

*DRAG*

Endless!

*SCRAPE*

Agony.

If someone asked her.

Had really asked her to tell you the amount of time she spent there on the floor.

She would have told you an endless amount.

She had enough time, while dragging herself across the floor.

To recount the entirety of her time, right before she met Ralts.

*DRAG*

                    *SCRAPE*

All the way up to where they were now.

*DRAG*

                  *SCRAPE*

“I……m……….         ……..C-…….com…….ming………          ………Ral………..lst………”

There was only one thing she wanted at that moment.

*SCRAPE*                  *BA-THUMP*

           *DRAG*                       *BA-THUMP*

One thing she needed.

 *BA-DUMP*

         *BA-THUMP*

“…Ralts…” Jennifer whispered.

Jennifer dragged herself by her arms, as she forced herself through the pain she was experiencing.

She crawled through the shards of rocks and broken debris as she made her way towards the other chair across the way.

When her hands registered something other than stone.

She knew she had made it.

She was so over joyed that she made it this far, that she almost allowed herself a moment to rest; to stop and celebrate.

But Jennifer couldn’t do that

She couldn’t stop.

Couldn’t rest.

Not until she held her in her arms.

Her wet blood slick hands trailed up the smooth carved wood of the chair.

Her hands stung as the tiny stones and sharp rocks cut into her palms.

*tap*

There.

*tap* *tap*

She could feel it.

Something other than wood or stone.

She felt the warmth of the body she had been searching for.

“……Ralts!……” Jennifer cried out in a dry raspy voice.

Her hands traveled up the smooth appendages. Until it reached a skirt made from pure silken hair, which she knew grew out of her Pokémon as a single piece.

She used her elbows and knees. To help elevate her, as her hands traveled up her Pokémon’s limp form.

“…Ral…ts!…” She cried out to her Pokémon; her voice, barely above a whisper.

She pulled her Pokémon up from out of the chair that held her.

Jennifer’s eyes stung as tears spilt from her eyes. What was blurry gray globs before. Was not water forms of shapeless figures.

“Oh… Ral…ts!…. I’m….. so…. sorry!…..” Jennifer cried as she laid her head against Ralts’s.

But miraculously, as she cried. More and more of Jennifer’s vision returned.

She shapes, becoming clearer to her.

She could see it.

Ralts’s blue hair, still the same as ever.

Her lovely orange eyes that stared up at her adoringly.

Her thin lengthy torso.

Her skirt that wrapped around her waist.

Her lovely orange horns on her head.

Jennifer was realizing something.

That she was holding her partner.

She could feel it.

*BA-THUMP*

            *BA-DUMP*

The same heart beat that they felt between each other.

But this was no longer Ralts.

Even in her pain riddled and addled mind. She knew something had happened to Ralts.

That the Ralts she once was, is now no more.

“…R-Ralts?…” Jennifer called out to her with a dry and raspy voice.

*BA-DUMP*

        *BA-THUMP*

Her Pokémon looked up at her with a loving and happy expression.

*…Kirli—…—a!” 1”Jenni—…—fer!”

Jennifer brought her Pokémon up to her. She kissed her forehead lovingly.

“……I’m so glad you’re alive……” Jennifer whispered into her Pokémon’s hair. “……I don’t know what I would have done if you were…— ……Thank Arceus!….. you’re alive!” Jennifer cried into her Pokémon’s hair; her tears trailed down her face, wetting Kirlia’s hair to a dark blue.

“Kir li Kirli irli Kirl lia lia Kir Kirlia…... kir lia kirl” 2“And I couldn’t live without you Jennifer…… I love you!”

The two held each other as they fell to the floor. Both of them losing consciousness; but both of them remaining together in their dreams.

Their bodies were lifted up, and carried gently and lovingly, by a set of four arms.
