The siblings spent their dinner without a word, pretending the earlier incident was nothing. The dinner in the Nekomiya house was over quickly. 

In their room, Rimu checked her possessions while Riku climbed the bunk bed and silently observed her. He was quite curious about what Rimu was doing but didn't think about it too much and quickly fell asleep.

Rimu collected ¥7.690 from her saving money.

'The most important things are on the internet in this day. Without connecting to the internet, I can’t do anything remarkable... But I don’t even have a computer and just this much is obviously far from enough to buy one!'

Rimu closed her eyes and thought hard. A few moments, later she opened her eyes.

"It looks like I'll have to make a DIY computer first.¹DIY = Do it Yourself, she planned to create the computer herself."

Even though the Nekomiya's were not a wealthy family but they were also not a poor family. In fact, there was a computer in her father's study room. If need be, her father could buy 2 or 3 computers more. But the question was, what for?

The reason why her father hadn't bought a computer was because she and Riku were still kids.

Who in the right mind would buy an expensive computer for a kid, only for them to break it. Only the wealthy have the privilege to do that!

In her previous life, Riku got one when they were in 1st grade of Junior High School.

As for Rimu? Heh, at that time she was only interested in that PS2 in the living room. The main reason Riku got a computer was because Rimu selfishly monopolized the PS2 all to herself.

After Riku got his computer, she protested to her father and forced him to buy her a new PS4 to be fair.

It cost 10 times more than Riku's computer to buy a PS4 with few of its games. The subscription network was also not cheap.

Truly an unfair girl.

Rimu woke up. For her, it has been some time since she did not need to work overtime and got to bed early. Her sleeping time was usually between 5-6 hours a day. As such, she woke up in the early morning by instinct.

However, that was also within her calculations.

Rimu changed into her school sports uniform and went outside. She brought her school backpack with her.

She recalled the content of a certain seminar from her university days. It was a robotics related seminar from another faculty. The seminar was held by the university and was free to attend by its students, regardless of faculty.

Rimu was originally present only to eat free snacks and didn't have any intention to understand any of it. But unexpectedly the seminar was interesting, and she learns a lot in it.

The content of the presentation was about a mini, credit card sized motherboard computer called the Raspberry Pi²https://www.raspberrypi.org/help/what-%20is-a-raspberry-pi/. This motherboard was very cheap and capable of everything a desktop computer could do. The installation was quite easy and it didn't require any complicated procedure. Even a layman in technology like Rimu was confident she could do it.

The seminar also discussed using it to create a robotic mechanism or its use in cluster computing³Two or more computers connected to work together as a single system.. Unfortunately, Rimu's limited knowledge in computers prevented her for understanding further.

Rimu walked to the neighborhood garbage disposal nearly 1 km away from her house. All households in the neighborhood dumped their trash and unwanted items in this place before it was collected by garbage collector every Thursday.

When Rimu arrived, the place was full of garbage bag towering high. The smell was so horrible that it made Rimu want to puke.

"Uwaa~ the smell is awful. Let's search fast and be done."

Rimu covered her mouth and nose and looked carefully. Few stacks of plastic, a stack of ero mangas, an old rice cooker, a worn bicycle...

There's an old saying, 'one man's trash is another man's treasure'. Lots of people dispose of what they deem worthless but is still useful to other people. Rimu found lots of items that were still in good condition here.

'So wasteful, I had to plan my budget carefully in my university days and these people throw away good items...'

Rimu sighed and continued to look at other items.

In the corner of the garbage disposal, Rimu found an LCD, a computer keyboard and mouse, a wrecked computer, a music player, a game console, and a bunch of cables. Rimu grinned with satisfaction.

"Sure enough, that wasteful prodigal is still living near here."

Rimu recalled a certain rich boy in her Senior High School.

Tennouji Shouya, a scion of Tennouji Financial Clique. One of the people who ridiculed her appearance. He always brought expensive gadgets and bragedto everyone.

Shouya liked to mess with Riku for a petty reasons and Rimu got dragged into the crossfire. The beauty and beast (lol) mockery actually originated from him.

Unfortunately for him, his father, Tennouji Shige got assassinated three months after they graduated from Senior High School. The scion turned out to have no talent in business and his castle of wealth crumbled to dust in just a few months.

'That hateful guy... although he was a jerk, he was actually not a bad person. He treated everyone in the class including me and Riku to restaurants quite often. Didn't expect he turned so pitiful in just a few months. Maybe that's karma.'

Rimu shook her head, mourning his miserable fate. Anyway, their path will not cross until Senior High so no use in thinking about it. Besides, she didn't have any plans to intervene in his fate at all.

She put the keyboard, mouse, and adapter cable into her backpack. As for wrecked computer, she left it alone. With her limited knowledge, there was no way for her to repair it.

"Wow, the casing is dented beautifully... I wonder what caused that young master to throw away his entire computer. He also discarded the fine looking LCD too, oh there are scratches in the left corner, but it's only a minor defect, and he just dumped it... Really wasteful."

Rimu also wanted to take the LCD back home too, however it was too large to fit in her backpack. She stuffed the broken music player and a few other cables and went home. Every minute she stayed in that smelly place gave her nausea.

She quickly went back and hid all the loot in the shed behind the house. To clears the smell from her body, she put all her clothes into the washer and had another bath. She slipped into her pajamas and gone back to bed before Riku wole up.

"Mission complete." Rimu giggled.

Rimu glanced at the clock on the wall, the whole trip took less than 1 hour. She closed her eyes and rested. The second part of the plan will be executed after school. She had to rest her body well before then.
