how do beasts factor into this power ranking
Beasts normally need at least three cultivators combined of the same level to be Killed. I say Killed because beasts don't just fight to the death; they also flee and similar. This means that three cultivators of the same level are standard to ensure a Kill.
"normal age" of the cultivators in that realm
This is very... Hard to answer because... Define "normal" in a cultivation world. Practically impossible, right?
Let's put Andrea as a standard. She is certainly in genius class, but she hadn't cultivated seriously and focused on blacksmithing much more, so she was 31 years old and at the peak of the fifth level of the Mental Nourishing realm when she met Yasenia.
Kali is another example, she has been very focused on cultivation, and she is also at the fifth level of the Mental nourishing realm and 26 years old. With this, you can more or less see the "Normal" Speed for "Genius" cultivators. The advancement speed will exponentially slow down the further you advance.
