He was gone, so I could finally start searching for something useful in all these boxes that humans left. They appeared from nowhere along with them, and now I knew that it was a distorted teleportation spell that brought them into the dungeon. Even if it wasn’t in their intention, I was a bit grateful for the supplies and experience they gave me.

I woke up the girl on my back, and helped her get off from me. She was a bit confused after being woken up from a nap like that, but after I gestured her to search the boxes, she quickly understood, and jumped into one of them. She actually did it, she jumped into an open box, and when I peeked inside, she was carefully separating seemingly useful stuff from trash.

I had no idea she was this smart, maybe there would be no need to train her? I though like that, but quickly changed my mind after she got stuck under the pile of tools that were stored in her box. It was pretty spacious, I probably would fit there if it was empty, and even when filled, she still had plenty room to move since she was pretty small.

And she actually managed to get herself stuck. Sighing within my imagination I helped her get out, and warned her with my gestures to not do it again. She looked like a kitten about to get punished, but I just communicated to her to not jump into any box, and just try searching those available to her.

I had no idea how we could communicate so smoothly, but she understood almost everything I had in mind for her. At least I hoped she understood, but she seemed to do everything as I planned. She searched inside smaller boxes, sometimes finding edible things, and kept trying to eat them when she though I wasn’t looking, but otherwise gathering them in one place.

I was fascinated with the way she was scurrying happily between the bigger boxes, so much that I forgot that I had to work myself too. I didn’t want her to see me as an irresponsible adult did I? Wait, I’m not an adult, I’m much younger than her if she really was about ten years old as her look stated.

For now I was thinking about making the corpses of the humans I killed before into rations, but somehow I didn’t want to later feed it to the girl, nor eat it with her looking. I was pretty sure they would taste terrible anyway, so I just dumped them outside of the box site.

I made sure to collect everything valuable from them, especially the gun that the fat noble had. It was pretty complex design, and because of this, it didn’t fit inside the middle ages at all. The gun of the group I met before meeting my mother had similar design, but then I had no way to check it thoroughly.

Having it in my hands now, I was sure that this world wasn’t a medieval one at all, even if everyone was using swords and dressing like warriors. I had no idea why, but it wouldn’t concern me before finishing the dungeon so I could ignore this for now. It was bugging me, but I really had more important matters on my mind.

I put the gun on the pile of useful things collected, and then went to open the bigger boxes. A lot of them had a furniture inside, but it definitely wasn’t one destined for family homes. These were all torture devices, and along with them we found a lot of other torture and slavery tools.

I was considering skipping rest of the loot, since it was making me a bit sick, but we really could benefit from some of the human items. Particularly from the ones intended for the fat noble to use. We found a lot of perfumes which were a bit useless unless we wanted to mask our smell from monster by making it more suspicious.

But ignoring them, there was also soap, a lot of clothes, food and accessories. The clothes were also useless, since I didn’t need them and the girl was too small to fit into any, but the rest was like a golden eggs for us. Maybe soap wasn’t that necessary but I decided I need to wash the cat, or she could catch a disease.

Next thing that would make it easier, was a pouch of water, but not an ordinary one. After appraising it I found out it was actually a magic item, that could produce infinite amount of it. Why something that valuable was here, I had no idea but since there were more dungeons and they were the source of similar items, maybe humans found one that mass produces these pouches.

Anyway, I could use this to wash the catgirl. After searching for a bit I found a decent sized box that was easy to enter, and was looking like it could hold water, and then started filling it. I threw inside one of the heat rocks I found as an extra, to ensure the right temperature, and the soap to possibly make bubbles since I wanted to see them.

When it was finally filed, I checked if it’s not too hot, and since it was perfect, I looked at the direction of the catkin. She was watching me curiously, but stayed at some distance. When she guessed what’s going on, hair on her head and tail stood up (I can’t find a word for this, even translator failed me) and jumped back warily.

Well, she was a cat, and they don’t like water from what I know. I sighed, spun a single thread and threw it at her with a speed that should be impossible to dodge. I mean how did she do it if her stats are that low!? This was going to be a lot harder than I initially though.

I realized while writing these chapters that I like cute things way more than I should. I hope my inability to describe them properly will lessen the overflow.
