I quickly went inside, but when I got there, I saw nobody. No matter how much I looked around, the house was empty. I was just about to run out, when I heard her again. It was above me, and when I looked at the ceiling I saw her there.

She actually got herself stuck on the ceiling. Ceiling that was good five meters above the ground, because I used a lot of resources to build this house. She got tangled up in webs there, and couldn’t escape.

Cats are weird, you let them out of your sight for a moment, and then find them in a places like that. I was actually panicking, when I couldn’t find her, and she was just hanging on my new ceiling. It wasn’t even that long since I finished it, I have no idea how did she get stuck there that fast.

I sighed internally, and touched the webbing on the wall. All threads in this structure were connected, and I could manipulate them all, just by touching, it just took a lot of concentration and mana to reach that far. I quickly moved my web, so she could free herself, which she did, and then fell on the soft floor, landing on four legs… hands… paws.

I tried scolding her, but I don’t know how much got through to her since I couldn’t really talk, but in the end she realized my intentions and made round eyes, which I have to say, I have no defense against. Well, after confirming her safety I had to return to different problem, namely the monsters that started appearing.

As always, my answer was my thread, and things I could make with it. Just after making sure, that no monster would attack the girl while I was working I started laying traps. Multiple layers of sticky web soon covered the floor around the house and box site.

My skills sure were leveling fast now, that I met the gods. I started to doubt that it was connected to focus and started thinking more of it as a result of the repaired bugs. There was no way mi skills would stay this low, even when fighting as much as I did.

Wait, did I really fight much? I was at third or fourth floor, I didn’t know exactly since I wasn’t sure if the trap floor and the illusion one were separated. What mattered was that I didn’t really fight anything other than couple of rabbits and humans.

Let’s just say I got a buff for the skill proficiency from the gods as a gift for good behavior. What is this scorching feeling on my back? Why do I smell smoke? Nevermind that, I finished my defense system, so now I could finally focus on getting proper skills for evolution.

I returned to the house, while thinking over how I should start, but when I reached my destination I froze in place. The girl was sitting in the middle of the main room, and was playing with webs. I didn’t make them, they weren’t mine.

She was creating it herself, using the tips of her fingers. Her thread was much thinner than mine, and probably much more fragile, but it still wasn’t normal for a cat girl to be able to produce it. I always avoided thinking about it, but I produce mine with my butt, and because this is a part of my spider physiology, it comes out stronger.

But here was she, with fine threads coming out of her fingertips. Did I accidentally pick up a genius? I had to appraise her, to confirm if she got the skill.

She’s still leveling up, even though she doesn’t fight, and she actually got the spider web skill. Also, what’s with the monster tamer title? [Charm monsters] probably came with it, but where did she find a monster to tame, when I was watching her almost all the time.

Wait… This can’t be… Did she tame me? But that’s ridiculous, she’s my pet, and not the other way around. Was she using the charm on me? I don’t think so, since I would get a resistance, and it wouldn’t stay level one, unless she got it very recently. It wasn’t really that long since I last appraised her, and back then she didn’t have this title.  

I think I will have to face the fact, that I became a tamed monster… That’s so humiliating. I’m a pet of a little cat girl, and she probably will get to boss me around, when her skills level up. But even the tamer title doesn’t explain how she can use my web.

It’s a race specific skill, and I have absolutely no idea how she got it, but the only thing I can come up with is, that she actually used it without skill. The whole system was probably a form of magic, so it wouldn’t be weird, if spider’s web were infused with it, and if she managed to replicate this magic, this would only mean… I don’t know what.

My cat is a genius, or is she my owner now?
