CHAPTER 59: YE XINXIA’S MAGIC~

ORIGINAL Author: Chaos

SPINOFF Author: Vester

“The soldiers from the Eastern military post have returned, and they are in serious condition. I shifted them to I.C.U, but they are beyond Dr. Wu’s capabilities. He told me to call you.” Ye Xinxia said. Urgency etched in her voice.

“Wasn’t the Eastern military post destroyed?” Dr. Song asked, surprise wrinkling his brow.

“They claim to be the survivors who were in the technical department.” With a sense of gravity, Ye Xinxia responded.

Understanding the desperation of the situation, Dr. Song wasted no time, declaring “I understand, Let’s hurry!” He rose swiftly, striding toward the hospital building, with Ye Xinxia following closely.

BZRRR~

Suddenly, a rupture happened in the fabric of reality and a tall, slender figure with handsome features now masked due to his ruffled and unkempt hair walked out of the Void.

The space behind him quickly automatically mended itself within seconds!

Ye Xinxia halted in her steps! Her eyes widened in disbelief seeing the familiar figure who looked haggard now.

The figure was none other than her beloved brother who was missing since the calamity unfurled!

She had checked the survivors list daily, hoping to find Mo Fan and Mo Jiaxing, but in vain. Her heart trembled at the thought of being the sole survivor in her family. She didn’t want to lose her family again.

She distracted herself by being useful to other people and aiding them, sharing hope with them but, somewhere in her heart she felt suffocating… and fear gnawed at her every night at the thought of not seeing her family again… not seeing Mo Fan again…

Her eyes slowly turned watery as tears gushed out from them like a torrential dam break.

“Brother… *Hic*… Brother Mo Fan…” Her quivering voice, muffled by her trembling hands, conveyed shock and disbelief.

Huge droplets of tears fell as she watched her beloved brother, feeling as if she were caught in a dream.

A wave of relief washed over Mo Fan as he embraced her tightly. The enormity of her soft presence, her warmth, and her vividly beating heart elicited a sigh of relief. Mo Fan’s felt a jolt of electricity coursing through him when he held her.

Ye Xinxia buried her head deep in his warm chest and her beautiful jade-like hands clutched at his torn shirt very dearly as if he was her life-line! She couldn’t stop her torrent of warm tears which cascaded down her cheeks.

“Br.. Brother Mo Fan!! *Sob* I.. *Hic*... I searched for you… so much…but I just couldn’t find you… *Hic* I thought I lost you *Sob*…” Ye Xinxia’s words, uttered with a childlike vulnerability, as it echoed in the emotional atmosphere.

“I’m sorry Xinxia, I’m really sorry for leaving you alone all this time. Thank God you’re okay.” Mo Fan’s voice held a mix of regret and relief as he gently and tenderly caressed her head.

Yet, her tears persisted, a testament to the emotional toll and pent up feelings she had endured. It couldn’t be helped, after all no matter how mature she acted, she was still just a 15 year old kid…

Mo Fan’s heart ached, he contemplated the hardships Ye Xinxia who was but a child had faced during these past few days.

He winced at the harsh reality and was determined to shield her from such exposure, yearning for her to experience a normal adolescence in this timeline. That’s why he wanted to send her to Shanghai before this catastrophic calamity hit… But Alas, things were not in his favour lately…

The People around them, accustomed to Ye Xinxia’s radiant presence, stood in stunned silence at the sight of her vulnerability.

Over these past few days, Ye Xinxia had ascended to a form of an Idol status, her goddess-like appearance compiled with her resilient demeanour provided a beacon of hope during these dire times.

Merely being in her vicinity allowed people to momentarily forget the harsh reality they faced. They felt healed and peaceful near her.

However, witnessing Ye Xinxia’s vulnerability served as a poignant reminder of the collective pain they all endured.

It took a while but Ye Xinxia’s tumultuous emotions slowly found solace within Mo Fan’s unwavering embrace. His steady grip refused to release her until the storm of her distress had subsided.

They sat on a nearby bench beside Xiao Gu who now looked a little awkward. After a few moments of contemplating, he gave Mo Fan a look of understanding and discreetly withdrew himself, giving the young couple moment of privacy.

Mo Fan acknowledged this gesture with a polite nod, a silent expression of gratitude from him.

Seated with Ye Xinxia nestled on his lap like a child, she couldn’t bear to separate from him and his comforting hold.

Her eyes once lustrous like crystals were now swollen and reddened by ten minutes of incessant tears. She lifted her face to meet Mo Fan’s gaze.

A palpable anguish adorned Ye Xinxia’s expression as her gaze fell upon Mo Fan’s battle-worn visage. Her discerning eyes captured the details—a substantial cauterized gash marring his chest and a fresh, albeit minor, scar marked his cheek. The latter, when tampered with, betrayed its recent origin by allowing rivulets of blood to cascade, a testament to the recent trials etched into Mo Fan’s very being.

Seven Golden stars glowing with a light green hue to them emerged in a mystique surrounding Ye Xinxia, and smoothly formed a beautiful Star Orbit in two breaths!

Ye Xinxia casted her Tier 3 Primary Level Healing spell very adeptly, as she had gotten a large amount of experience while continuously healing the patients in the hospital over the week.

In a breath-taking display, its radiant glow seamlessly weaving into Mo Fan’s wounded cheek and chest. With a magical flourish, the injuries that marred his features were swiftly mended, as if time itself had been rewound.

Ye Xinxia spells were sacred and special as she embodied the divine will and the very Soul of the Supreme Goddess Athena within her being!

Even though the Soul was now dormant deep within her being, the latent powers it held was simply extraordinary! Her cultivation speed rose to unprecedented heights even without the assistance of the two formidable Cultivation Tools specially meant for White Magic Elements Mo Fan gifted her!

Moreover, the extraordinary capabilities of Ye Xinxia extended beyond magic. Any injuries she inflicted upon herself seamlessly vanished within the span of three breaths. Her blood, was like a reservoir of the legendary elixir, possessed the remarkable ability to mend not only her wounds but those of others, transcending the need for any magical spells or intervention!

In the tapestry of her entire being, the essence of healing coursed through effortlessly, a testament to a power that defied the laws of conventional magic, which broke through the shackles of the ordinary bounds.

Unfazed by Ye Xinxia’s seemingly effortless healing of his cursed wounds, Mo Fan’s response was not one of surprise but rather a quiet acknowledgment.

His hand gently patted her head with affection, as his eyes lingered on Ye Xinxia who was doing her very best to heal him, a swell of pride resonated within him, a silent recognition of the incredible strength she possessed.

A warm and approving smile adorned Mo Fan’s face, a reflection of the admiration and affection he harboured for the remarkable woman beside him.

“Does it hurt?” Ye Xinxia asked with a face full of worry after she healed his wounds completely.

“Not anymore.” Mo Fan shook his head sideways to reassure her.

“Where were you all this time?” Ye Xinxia asked him as she got down from his lap and took a seat beside him.

“I was cultivating in the Underground Holy Spring till today… Only because of a Battle Maga guarding the spring was I able to escape and regroup with the larger group gathered at Tian Lan Magic High. After that through many hardships we were able to reach here.” Mo Fan said while making up a more believable story.

“I thought you were already evacuated, since I overheard some officials speaking that they’ve retrieved the Underground Holy Spring…” Ye Xinxia said.

She had overheard the conversation at the hospital between two officers when they had brought their squad captain to get admitted after suffering wounds while fighting against some Wolves.

Mo Fan felt something weird at the start after listening to Ye Xinxia, but he soon understood that they were probably those damn Black Vatican cultist. He shook his head in disappointment.

“Xinxia, how come you didn’t head to Shanghai with Mu Ningxue? Did she forgot to reach out to you after I went into seclusion?” Mo Fan asked, as he did briefly informed Ye Xinxia about it before.

“No, Ningxue did got in touch with me. She filled me in on what you wanted her to do. But, you know, both Father and I didn’t wanted to leave you all alone when you come out of the Underground Holy Spring. So, we decided to stick around.”

“After that family dinner we had that night, Father mentioned to me after we separated that he had to deliver some resources at the Northern Military post on orders of Uncle Mu Zhuoyun, and I haven’t been able to reach him since,” Ye Xinxia slowly explained to Mo Fan, her voice tinged with a hint of sadness as she lowered her gaze.

She didn’t seem to know one major thing which Mo Fan immediately understood…

“…”

He shivered when he heard Ye Xinxia talk…

“Di… Did you say that Dad… went to the Northern Military post?” Mo Fan asked with a cracked voice again as he couldn’t believe what he heard.

“Mhm…” Ye Xinxia nodded her head, she became confused as to why his demeanour changed all of a sudden.

On the other hand, Mo Fan’s heart sank in response…

Northern… North… Was the direction those Monsters were invading their city currently!

If Mo Jiaxing was indeed on his way to the Northern Military Post right before this incident, then being an ordinary citizen, his odds of survival would be next to none!

He stood up stiffly and cast his 4th Tier Telekinesis instantaneously, “Xinxia, I’m sorry but I’ll have to leave again. Stay here in the mean time. I’ll be back soon, alright?” Mo Fan said to Ye Xinxia without turning towards her.

A torrent of rage and hopelessness surged through him all at the same time… It was impossible for him to conceal his visible emotions.

“Wai—”

ZWOOM~

Before Ye Xinxia could finish her sentence, Mo Fan vanished into the void.

“What?! Where’d he go??” She was flabbergasted at the sudden disappearance of Mo Fan.

In just a moment, he completely disappeared from the place as if he never existed in the first place!

She could still hear his words reverberating in the surroundings.
