At my command, the Saiyans teens took the forward position. At their back, backing them up were the children, behind them were the demons Devi had recruited, and further back were the cultivators and even further were the ships and the countless fighters and mecha awaiting combat.

“Stand Forward! Stand Proud!” I yelled out once more, the and the moment I did, energy rained form above. Countless rays of what must have been transfiguration beams shot out, attempting to turn the unlucky into snacks, but the demons aided, though they weren’t happy to be contributing, the gains more then made up for it. The possibility of remaining in the Mortal Realm was a definite lure. Making it so they gave their all.

Not a single beam made it past their defenses, but that wasn’t all there was. What followed was a literal wave of ki blasts, seeking to overwhelm and destroy everything and everyone. They Saiyans channeled their energy together. Forming a massive barrier that bore the brunt of the strike. Even still, they were being pushed back. Even still I saw them failing, the line being pushed by the countless Majin’s spawn above.

The real hitters were beside me, waiting for an opening. Knowing that getting mired in that mass of Majin spawn would be our end. Every second they multiplied, growing in number, blotting out the sky above. If we were to make it to the Majin, we would need to have everything at our disposal. We would form a spear and charge through, but they, the masses needed to survive the initial clash, lest we all be swept up in that tsunami of energy.

I counted the seconds. Watched and felt the entire battlefield. I could feel that my words had made a difference. Forcing the Saiyan teens to put their all, but they were flagging, their spirits wavering. Like a smith, waiting for the right moment. I waited. I waited. And, I waited. Then, at the final moment, just as I felt their spirits crack, threatening to break…

I spoke.

“Are you satisfied!” I yelled out. My voice cut through the noise, crisp and clear. It was all they could hear. Over their own beating hearts and terrified minds. “Is this all your capable of!?” I questioned. I could feel them getting anger. I could feel their singular intent to retort or bite back.

“Etch these words into your hearts! INTO YOUR SOULS! A testament, a commandment, that you shall pass on for generations!” Even still, I spoke.

“You, are Saiyan! Each and every one of you! A Saiyan overcomes! A Saiyan endures! When the impossible is before you, you do not hesitate, you do not look the other way, no! As a Saiyan, you break through that impossibility to a new world!

Even then, a Saiyan, is selfish! You do not gain strength for another. You do not work for another. You fight, you live, you overcome for one reason, and one reason alone! FOR YOURSELF! So, tell me! Are you satisfied!? Is this where your story ends!?

IS THIS ENOUGH!?” I belted out. My words cracked at every single one of their souls, like an overseer's whip. For a Saiyan, the only person they could ever truly disappoint was themselves. My words struck at the core of their being, I felt them shake and question. Asking themselves, was this enough?

So, I admitted the truth. “It is hard.” I said, my voice softer. “To walk. To pave a path that nobody else has ever made. To go on your own, to forge your own destiny. It is far easier to follow another. To simply walk down a road you already know.” My own experiences were a testament to that. “But the future, is made by those who push into the unknown! Who tread beyond, understanding that enough is never enough! To have a burning spirit, an indomitable will that will never be satisfied!

A will that will have you walk even through the trials and pains set before, no matter the outcome, no matter how it will end! Even if that end results in our people's extinction, so long as we die, hands stretched to the heavens, smiles on our faces, so long as we laugh in the face of our death, I believe, that would be good enough, don’t you?”

I quieted down, letting my words sink in. “So, again, I ask you… are you satisfied? Is this, good enough?” I questioned one final time. And this time, they responded.

Every Saiyan teen responded, roared back. Their response, singular, shared. A burning resolve that would doom any and all beings in creation. “NO!” And like so, they ignited their entire beings. All at once, every Saiyan transformed, the barrier stopping the Majin spawn grew gold as every Saiyan became a Super Saiyan. Transcending their limits, becoming more.

I grinned, seeing them push back with a strangled cry. Pushing through the pain. Through their combined effort, they shattered the oncoming wave of energy with sheer will alone and pounced. Crashing into the sky above. Fighting against with an almost animalistic zeal.

Gunfire erupted in their passing, tearing into the mass of Majin spawn above. Mecha and fighters surged forward, joining the developing scrum. Minutes passed, my eyes looked through the shuddering mass of fighting entities. Looking for an opening.

We had one chance to pierce through. One chance to breach that mass and reach the heart, the true Majin. Once there, we would need to isolate them, cut off their power supply and then, end them. The plan was in motion even now. Vega and I were wearing our respective Potara earring. I wasn’t much a fan of earrings, but these had both form and function, so I could deal. Not to mention the gleeful knowledge of knowing that with it, we could fuse with little to no issue.

To cut off the Majin’s power supply would be easier, though, difficult. Every second that passed, a frankly disgusting amount of ki bled into Otherworld feeding into the Majin. A collection of all the curses and negative energy in the universe, all of it feeding into the Majin. The answer was obvious. Only possible with my Ultra Ego transformation. I just needed to divert that energy to myself. Make it so that I, was absorbing it all instead of the Majin.

With their energy cut off, we would fuse, and deal the finishing blow. That… was the plan. With that in mind, I kept watching. Waiting. Anticipating… until…

“NOW!” I declared, flying up. Everyone followed behind, Sun created barriers and helped us punch through the outermost layers. Jake and his father working together pushed us even further. Xiao and his daughter worked in concert, Hammer came crashing in, dispersing the Majin grouping around us. Terror swooped in with her flight wing, unleashing absolute hell on the Majin spawn and guiding us forward until they backed off.

Asura and his brother, now fused through the fusion dance came shooting by. Punching a clear hole for us to follow. Depositing us just before the Majin. Radda and Seri surged out, dicing and slashing through those trying to bar our path forward. Aspa and Latus cleared the last bit of distance to the Majin with a combined blast of ki. Forming a small tunnel that Vega and I could slip into.

Before us, was a planet. Barren and worn. Yet, something told me it was important, the core of the universe in a sense. The Supreme Kai’s world, probably. We crashed down and surged forward, Vega protected my back, doing her best to keep them off us. With us here, the spawn moved to envelop us, allowing the others to catch up.

I only had one chance. The closer I got, the more I focused my energy. Hakai gathering and condensing on my fist. Before us, I saw the Majin. Fat, huge as well. Clearly overfilled with energy. To the very brink. It could barely move and yet, seeing me approach it laughed. It mocked me.

I didn’t much care. I stepped before it, the thing still cackling. I reared back my fist, their voice ringing out.

“You think you can kill me with Hakai!?” They laughed. I smiled. My response, was a punch. I slammed into the Majin. My fist cutting through them with surprising ease. The Majin didn’t stop laughing, not even when my fist hit something depositing the Hakai, right where I wanted.

After all, my target was never the Majin, it was always, just beyond it. Just a little further. The Majin’s laugh caught in their throat. And the world shattered. The sound of breaking glass sounding out through the whole universe no doubt. Where I had punched, a whole had appeared in creation. A small hole that expanded and exploded, pulling in the Majin.

Before me, was a large gaping wound on creation, beyond it a white expanse of nothing. I looked back to Vega, our eyes met, our intent clear. Further back, I saw Aspa and the kids catching up. “Keep the hole open!” I cried out.

“How!?” Aspa yelled back, but I ignored that in favor of giving him a thumbs up, right before we leaped into the in between spaces. Instantly, the moment I stepped in, I felt the pressure pushing me down fade. Even then, it felt like I had stepped into a vacuum and endless nothing.

I had figured, ever since Asura told me about targeting hakai, that I could target the dimension itself. Not that I would ever use it, but… against the Majin it might be helpful to cut them off. Now, with a single point of entry to defend, fighting them would become almost too easy.

Trying to fight them in universe would be impossible, with them constantly making more spawn and pressing us in, eventually our numbers would tire, and neither Vega nor I had long enough to handle that seemingly endless force.

Punting the Majin into the in between seemed like the best option. I could, perhaps could have ended things there. Simply letting the Majin float free here for all eternity, but I knew that wasn’t an answer. Eventually they would come back, stronger than ever. A constant nuisance due to their inexplicable link with the universe.

Either way, it didn’t matter. I was riding the tiger, my time limited. Even with the pressure on my soul lessened, I could feel my soul beginning to crack. Not much longer. The moment we entered; Vega took charge of the doorway. Unleashing a rain of explosions that cut off any attempt the Majin made to escape and while eliminating any spawns they made.

I charged forward, my feet stamping down on the white endless nothing. It rippled underfoot; it didn’t feel real. It shouldn’t have been real, but my ego made it so. Asserted that it was real. Asserted that I could, indeed walk, or run if need be. The Majin, distracted, didn’t stop, my fist slammed into their core. It should have sent them flying, but the rules here were… loose.

They went shuddering back, hardly any distance at all. A combination of Vega’s domain, and my own intent locking them in place. I beat into them with all I had. Sensing danger, the Majin fought back. Their form shrinking down, their own fist slammed into my face.

Something told me, the sheer force of the blow should have killed me. Instantly vaporized me.

My Ego, denied. The Majin stared in shock at me, their fist crashing into my skull with no real result. The ground, the white expanse around us rippled and churned. I grinned, a bloody fanged grin of a beast and pushed. Blow for blow we met. Each and every strike enough to kill me, each and every time, my Ego denied that result.

Even as I tired. My Ego Denied. Even as I felt my energy flagging, My Ego Denied. Over and over again, until I finally caught it. A small thread. A single thread of energy. I grasped it with all I had, receiving a series of blows that sent me back, and yet, I straightened up. I could feel my soul shimmering. Cracking under the force. Little by little becoming more flawed and ready to burst.

Even then, I did not relent. Even with my soul at its very limit, I persisted. I grasped at the threads of ki feeding into the Majin. Slowly diverting them, feeding into me, empowering me ever more. I pulled on the power, the vast reserves I had gained. Every step grew heavier, I felt as if, with every passing second that I was rapidly going deeper into the water.

The pressure on my soul skyrocketed. I plunged to the very depths, faster and faster, all the while I kept grasping and taking more. Glutting myself on all the energy even as I felt it leaking out of my body and soul. My vessel only held together by my Ego, my soul only held together by sheer will.

And at the height of it, my power peaking, I felt a tug. A snapping whip. A twang that resounded through my being. Instinctively, I knew, I knew with all my heart what it was. The Directors line, between me and my old soul, the backup, the line to keep me from ever truly becoming corrupt.

I could end it here. And yet, standing before the Majin, I knew, a moment's hesitation would lead to my obliteration. The more force I threw behind my blows, the more the Majin pushed to return them with their own. Each blow stronger then the last.

Hesitation would be my death. Even then, I smiled. Decisively, I cut the cord. Whatever control I had fled my body. I plunged into the absolute depths. My mind wavered, blinking in and out. An animalistic roar left my lips, I ripped and tore into the Majin. My hands on the steering wheel of my mind, desperately keeping control as it threatened to send me off the road hugging a cliffside with barely any margin.

I grit my teeth, somehow managing, not through intent, but through sheer luck alone, I was sure. Then I felt it, my descent slowed. The ever-growing momentum, stopped. I had completely diverted the Majin’s power.

Somehow, I managed to cry out. My words bloodied and hoarse. “VEGA!” My earring sung out, hers cried back. I felt a pull, my hands left the wheel and the next thing I knew, I crashed into Vega…

Energy surged and swirled. The air crackled and churned. Where the two Saiyans had met, a new being emerged. On her ears, a pair of globe shaped earrings, dangling ever so much. The figure, wearing a gi, bearing the symbol of yin and yang. A perfect circle. Her eyes, were clear and yet, tired, exhausted. Her form, almost seemed diminutive.

Retega, was heroic. Standing tall and strong. Ever facing forward, always moving forward no matter the challenge, she however… Was anything but. More like a scholar. Tired and exhausted, weary. With a single blink, it was like they could see anything and everything. A sigh erupting from her lips.

““Ultra… Vegettas…”” They said with a yawn. ““Combined with the wisdom, to know what lies beyond, and burdened with the knowledge of the cost.”” Their voice lacked any real energy. More like a tired office drone than some horrifying being of power. Their hair, was strange. Each strand was perfectly split between silver and purple. Their aura, both infinite and nothing. Constantly growing and expanding before condensing. It seemed unwieldly, imperfect, and it was.

Neither Rettas, nor Vega had mastered their Ultra forms. Which made for an imperfect Ultra fusion. Well, not that it mattered. The Majin stared, astonished, horrified and yet, a crystal-clear snap resounded through the emptiness. A worrying crack appearing on one of the earrings.

Vegettas, did not take it to heart, they had time. The Majin unleashed everything they had, still though, they were confident. After all, they were immortal, so long as the universe carried evil, they would exist. It was, simply how it was.

With a snap of their fingers. The white expanse shuddered. One second, was nothing. The next, a star was born. The Majin screamed out, a massive portion of their being simply erased. Vegettas didn’t much care. A hand extended out, another yawn.

““Entropy…”” They said, exhausted. Suddenly, the sun withered and died. The countless pieces of the Majin sprayed about decayed into nothing. Even still, it wasn’t over. Vegettas waved a hand, even as the earrings cracked more. Any moment preparing to shatter. Their hand reached into nothing. Before them, countless motes gathered and formed into a solid black core.

The core of the Majin, their very soul. One look was all they needed and yet, seeing what they saw, they couldn’t help but laugh. Even exhausted as they were, they couldn’t help it. Seeing what was before them, the truth of it all.

““To think…”” They said. ““Humanity could have created you… Angra Mainyu, though, I suppose this is an end you chose for yourself.””

History, myth, all of it is mired in the unknown. Why was the Majin born on earth of all places? Even in Dragon Ball Z, the Majin was born on earth. It was because only a human could be so daring I suppose. In an age long gone, long buried in myth, a person had claimed to be the ultimate evil, or something of sorts. Was it that they had claimed it, or chose to? Or were they condemned to it?

Is that what it took to be evil? To be hated? Condemned? Is that all it meant, to go against the many? If so, that was laughable. Either way, seeing this, they knew they had to do something, though they had suspicions before, seeing it in person, they fully understood. This… was the origin of evil, specifically for this universe. A seed, a fragment of something greater. It seemed to have a sort of resonance with Rettas, though, that is unsurprising. Considering, given enough time, she too could potentially become a host for this seed.

If anything… it proved the truth of their thoughts. The Majin was truly forever, well, to an extent. With small laugh. Vegettas, did what needed to be done. Clenching her hand, she shattered the soul. Ending their existence. Just in time, for their earrings to explode.

In a blink, where they stood, now stood Rettas and Vega and yet… Neither moved. Neither spoke. Rettas, her energy seemed to only grow and spike. Her aura changing and fluctuating rapidly. Remnants of the origin of evil gathering around her. Vega turned to try and stop her, to do something.

Only… the moment she tried she was beat back. After absorbing it, feeling it thrum in her heart and soul. Rettas faced her sister and spoke.

“I suppose, it's time for the final fight, right? Little sister?” She smiled and yet, was she actually looking forward to this?

Angra Mainyu, is a good parallel to this situation. For a few reasons.

It's mentioned, that the Majin existed on earth and was sealed on earth a long time ago. Strangely, its hinted at that the Majin exists in all universes and always originates from earth at some point or another. In Jiren's universe, it believed the Majin awakened on earth and in response they glassed earth to defeat them. So, believing that in every alternate timeline, since we don't know where and when they got split into separate timelines, it's possible that it dates back far enough for ancient myth. Moreso when you consider that after beating the Majin, Goku was able to reincarnate the Majin's soul as Uub. Even then, it was mentioned given time, the Majin would be reborn despite what Goku had done. Which means, who exactly was Uub? Was Uub the original Angra Mainyu before he died or was corrupted into the Majin? It makes for an interesting discussion, especially when its mentioned Uub has more potential than even Goku does.

Onto whom Angra Mainyu is, in Zoroastrian myth, Angra Mainyu was the ultimate evil. His twin brother however was considered the ultimate good. Oddly, the sources I skimmed through made a point to say that Zoroastrian doctrine heavily pushes for freewill and independence of thought. Meaning he chose to be the ultimate evil. Which, when you tie in the Fate series interpretation of Angra Mainyu, you get a very interesting thought process and parallel to the story up to this point.

The Majin is evil, he feeds off conflict and everything to grow his power, and yet, is the Majin truly evil? Dragon Ball online mentions without the influence of whatever evil force, Origin of Evil, as I named it here, without that influence, Majin are not dangerous. They are innocent playful people. In Dragon Ball Super, it mentions that the only reason the Majin, when they showed up at first wasn't totally evil was due to still trying to digest the previous Supreme Kai. Though, I could be misremembering that. If they didn't mention it, they at least hinted at that. Which is why they befriended Hercule and everything. Given enough time, they might have reverted back to evil, or maybe even shunted off the Origin of Evil becoming their own being.

This goes further into Parallels, because Angra Mainyu had a twin brother, in this case Vega and Rettas are both twins of opposite alignment.

Either way, when I was thinking about this and knowing what I know, it all seemed oddly convenient. It was almost perfect, too perfect really. So, I did it. It's not canon and might be stretching it a bit. But it is a fun little bit to add in. Now, likely before the Majin existed, the Dark King was the ultimate evil, so something must have happened at some point in time, no idea what, but something happened. Which just makes it all the more interesting...

Sorry for the info dump. Next chapter is the Last chapter! Which marks the end of Part 1, and my daily commitment of chapters for the foreseeable future.
