A young boy of five years could be seen laughing 'maniacally' before a pond. He had a light skin tone. Deep black eyes which contained wisdom far above average. His facial is not defined because of his little age.

He wanted to laugh maniacally but it became a cute laugh made by a young boy. He stopped after good twelve-thirteen seconds. He looked at the shattered pieces of woods near his feet and the one on his hand.

After Duanmu Shen lost his consciousness, he entered in a mysterious space. It looked completely white as far as his eyes could see. Many profound knowledge and information started rushing into his brain. It was as if he opened a mystery gate and it rewarded him with endless amount of knowledge.

"What's this? They seem so bizarre." Duanmu Shen couldn't figure them out as they all seemed so bizarre and vague.

Very soon everything started to make sense to him. He could understand them without any difficulty as if he knew them from the start. It’s a strengthening technique! Although not same as Qing Shui's he believed it to be at least on par with his. Shen wanted to call himself an idiot for trying run so much just to find his cheat but he buried those thoughts inside him. He will be cool... for his future girls!

Dismissing those thoughts, he focused on the other things in this mysterious realm. He has many mystical and profound runes in his head but they are all obscure. Some had a shape and sharpness akin to a sword, while some exuded an aura of a sturdy mountain! He could only hope to figure them out slowly.

"THIS!!!... THIS IS…" suddenly he came to something that made his expression take 180 degree turn.

When Duanmu Shen was having the best time of his life. Yu Ruyan and the Elder both was panicking. They didn't know what happened with their young genius.

In his first try, he was able to touch the meditative state. His talent was truly monstrous if he really entered that state within 30 minutes. But as soon as they felt he was nearing the meditative state he actually passed out!

Normally something like this only happens when someone suffers Qi Deviation but obviously, this child didn't even start cultivation. How can he suffer from Qi Deviation?

Yu Ruyan reached her wits end. She took Shen on her arms as headed to their Medical Hall. On the way, she didn’t care about anything she is used her best speed to head there.

"Mmmm~... dis feeling iz the best~" suddenly she heard a soft voice. When she looked at Shen, she saw the boy sleeping with a peaceful smile... hugging her soft breasts. She didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Here, she was worried about this child, and he just took a peaceful nap? Did he just get bored while meditating and fell asleep? Even Yu Ruyan felt speechless. Sometimes, this child was really too much.

As Shen seemed completely fine, she left him on her bed. Causing a frown to appear on his baby face. Obviously annoyed because he lost his soft buns, which earned another wry smile from Yu Ruyan.

What Shen found within so many runes is another rune. This rune was different from all the others and the color was also different.

All runes varied from color to colors, and this rune has Golden color with a hint of bronze. The size of this rune is also far bigger than any other runes. Just a glance and anyone can feel the ancient aura. Although he didn't know why but he knew what this rune meant. Upgrade. ABSOLUTE UPGRADE!!

When he touched the rune with his illusory 'hand', he got a small amount of information on his mind.

Duanmu Shen couldn't believe it so he decided to check it out. He successfully upgraded these piece of woods to +1 but every time he tried to upgrade them again, they broke. Strangely enough, he knew when they will break.

He tried to find the cause and later noticed if he upgraded something that was inherently strong like a normal piece of stone. He can upgrade them to +2, but if he tried to upgrade them again, they crumble into pieces.

He really wanted to upgrade something to their peak and find out the special effect from +10 upgrade. But looks like that had to wait. He was more or less sure he can upgrade the Yin-Yang Pendant to +10. Artifacts are inherently far stronger from normal items and Yin-Yang Pendant was the cheat item of the whole novel so he never doubted it.

Finally, he decided it's about time to start his journey. He must obtain the Yin-Yang Pendant. He knew he was more or less older than Qing Shui. Still, he didn't want to take any risk.

Tonight, he told his 'mother' about his intention.

"I don’t want to stay here anymore! Those shitty kids hate me because I’m better than them. Those old bastards look at me with nasty eyes. Like they can’t wait to kill me. I don’t want to stay here at all!" Shen acted like a spoiled brat and threw tantrum.

"..." Yu Ruyan stayed silent for a moment before finally saying. "I didn't know such thing happening. Don't worry dear, I'll take care of everything."

"NO! I don't want that. There's nothing here and I don't like to be cooped up in this place. I wanna go outside. Plus look at these peoples, they always have a grumpy look on their face. Can we not leave this place, please~?"

One of the things that Shen learned from Duanmu Lingshuang, was the sure-kill move, Puppy Eyes! It's a bit shameful for him since mentally he was almost 30, but in this case, he could only swallow it down.

"S-Shen, you should c-consider pros and cons of leaving Duanmu Clan..." As Shen expected, the sure-kill move worked and Ruyan was already wavering. In fact, Ruyan had her reasons. If they left the clan, things will be inconvenient for them in many ways.

"Where are we going?!" suddenly Lingshuang appeared from the corner of the room.

"Lingshuang, you silly girl, come here. Big brother will teach you a lesson." Shen facepalmed. Depending on Lingshuang's action, this conversation might break apart.

"Eeeeeh!~ Mother look, Big brother is being mean~" Lingshuang hugged her beautiful mother as she complained about Shen. She was always spoiled by Shen and Ruyan... not like there was anyone else to spoil her.

"Where’s Big Brother going? We will be together, right? Yey, we will finally leave this house!" Lingshuang cutely said, expressing her eagerness for something new.

Yu Ruyan got lost in thought. She stayed in this family to carry on the responsibility of her dead husband. She felt it was her duty to take care of this family. Alas no matter how much she worked for this clan, they never appreciated her hard work. If she will never be approved here, she might as well make her children happy.

"Shen, tell me the real reason. I know you're not unreasonable. Convince me."

"This world is really big. And no one loves us in this clan. They want us to leave. I don't see any reason for us to stay here. Rather than staying in this gloomy place, I would like to see this world." Shen said while trying to be childish, but he knew he failed miserably.

Yu Ruyan looked at Lingshuang, who was just excited to see the outside world. There was no way she wouldn't be. Especially after how Shen kept bragging about her about the beautiful world and tasty foods.

After some hesitation, Ruyan finally said, "You should know what leaving the clan means, right? If we leave now, the Duanmu Clan will sever all kind of ties with us. Which goes by without saying, you two won't receive any resources from the Clan."

"I know that much," said Shen. A little bit grumpy. He personally didn't think much of Duanmu Clan. Comparing what he could obtain from Yin-Yang Pendant, the support from Duanmu Family amounted to dirts and pebbles.

"There's one more thing. Where do you want to go? You have a place in your mind, right?" At the end of her speech, a smirk appeared on beautiful face of Yu Ruyan.

Evil, that's not what came to Shen's mind. Charming, Absolutely Charming! He fell in love with her, once again!

"Err... I only found a interesting place in a book. Though, I am not sure if its really that good." Shen turned his back, trying to hide his face.

"Oh, where is this place?" hearing her, Shen smiled happily.

"Greencloud Continent, Hundred Miles City…"
