Hi! I thought I would give you guys a short side story chapter today (~500 words). And yes, more chapters will be released later today, however I'm unable to tell you when and how many. It depends on if I have enough imagination and time.

I was born into this world of nothingness and darkness.

I came into this world only to know one thing.

And that was; Grow stronger, by devouring.

A voice inside my head always reminded me if that goal.

「Devour! Devour! Devour! Devour! DEVOUR!!!」

But, what could I possibly devour?

The huge mountain?

The statue of the woman?

Or my Kin?

All I knew was, I needed to devour what I possibly could.

I tried holding my desire back at first, but that just made it worse.

At one point I almost lost my mind completely.

That was when I gave in to that voice inside my head.

And ever since, I've never felt any better.

At first, I was reluctant to kill and devour my own kin.

But when I first got the taste of the power I got from it, I simply couldn't stop myself.

It was like a drug to me.

Something I simply couldn't live without.

Something that was a necessity for me to survive.

It was the only thing that made me feel good in this hellhole that I was born in.

I quickly began to gain power, and establish myself in this world.

Over the course of a couple of hundred years, I became known as a Devil Emperor.

At the same time, a sort of hierarchy was founded.

At the bottom of the hierarchy, was, of course, the food, known as regular Devils.

These Devils were the ones that seemed to be summoned by that mysterious statue of a woman on top of the mountain.

The second-lowest rank was called Devil Knights.

Unlike the regular Devils, the Devil Knights were used as cannon fodder in wars between the powerful devils.

In the middle of the hierarchy, existed what's called Devil Commander.

These devils are vicious and cold.

They're the ones that control the Devil Knights during the wars.

The rank higher than Devil Commander was the Devil Baron.

Unlike the Devil Commanders that controlled a couple of thousand Devil Knights, the Devil Barons controlled hundreds of thousands of Devil Knights.

However, even higher up in the hierarchy came the Devil Duke.

The Devil Duke's job was to each control a portion of Devil Barons, while also giving advice to the Devil King, which was one rank above Devil Duke.

Of course, the Devil King's job was to control the dukes, wage wars, and do the bidding of the Devil Emperor.

Above the Devil King was the Devil Emperor rank.

However, until now, there's only been one Devil Emperor.

And that one is me, and I'm known as the Devil Emperor of Bloodlust, or Devil Emperor Diablo.

Of course, it's possible for another Devil Emperor to appear at any moment.

I'm not careless enough to believe I'm the strongest forever.

Every time I wage war, I say these 5 sentences inside my head.

I didn't get here because I'm lucky.

I didn't get here because I hesitated.

I didn't get here because I showed mercy to my enemies.

I got here because of my need to survive.

I got here because of my own power.

There's nothing else that matters in this world of slaughter.

If you don't have power, you don't have a say in anything.

Even if you're extremely clever and intelligent.

Power is everything, whether you like it or not.
