Hunter has always been a little different from everyone else. You wouldn’t know it just by looking at him, but those who do know have always looked at him with fear and even disgust. It isn’t his fault. He was born this way… born as a psychic.
Throughout his life, he’s helped several trans women hatch from their eggs, using his powers to figure out just the right way to push past their denial: his best friend from high school, a college roommate, a rival co-worker… it’s almost become a hobby for him. He isn’t sure what it is about him that attracts eggs or what it is about them that compels him to help.
Into Hunter’s life now comes Mark, a perfectly average kindergarten teacher who has always lived his life dealing with intrusive thoughts, strange mood swings, and inexplicable sudden changes to his habits. When Mark gets kicked out of his home, he ends up taking the first available room that he can find, becoming Hunter’s new roommate and fast friend.
Hunter knows an egg when he sees one, or at least after he’s read their mind. Although Mark’s thoughts are chaotic, they definitely aren't the kind of thoughts that a normal cis man would have, and when Hunter dives deeper into that mind he’ll find out just how right he is about that.
There’s an entire world inside that mind, full of people that his roommate isn’t aware of, and for Hunter, this might just become the ultimate egg hunt.
