Nolan is an unapproachable guy who ignores the existence of all his schoolmates and sleeps in all of his classes. Normally, this wouldn’t be Chelsea Arnold’s problem--she does her best to pay attention in class and attends gym like a good, normal student.
Unfortunately, she just so happens to be his assigned desk partner in many classes. She’s frequently forced to wake him in English class and ends up earning the unofficial title of Nolan’s Wake-up Alarm--a title that nobody in the entire school covets. The last thing she wants is to interact with him more than she absolutely has to. One day, their gym teacher sends her to bring him back to class, which he always skips for some reason. When she accidentally shines her flashlight in his sleeping face, it triggers a chain of events that gradually intertwines their lives together.
It’s hard to be a normal student when you start befriending the school oddball. It doesn’t help that he has more secrets than the Big Ben has stairs.

I rarely do reviews for various reasons, but I saw this had none and decided to change that.
Honestly, I don't like slice-of-life novels, especially those that feature school-life, comedy and romance. They tend to be wholly unrealistic, unreasonable and non-relatable. They use humour like anime, making fun of definitely-not-situations, the romance is Un-relatable at best and forced like your ex's cooking down your throat at worst.
Am I generalising these genres? Obviously. That said, we all only have so much time to spend on novels so I had to cut my loses.
What is my point, you may ask? Well, all the things I mentioned before, this novel is not. Granted, not exactly relatable to me nor wholly realistic, but the former is cause I'm weird and the later cause there's a supernatural tag.
Whatever.
Despite being somewhat not too disposed towards this type of novel, I damn enjoyed it and I'm giving it 5 stars! If someone like me managed to find something positive about this in the dark depths of my heart, I think it's not unreasonable to say that those actually enjoying these types of novels are gonna enjoy it doubly so.
Enough of my convoluted rambling and bland attempts at making this entertaining, press that juicy "read" button and enjoy the succulent meal that this is!
TL;DR: I liked it.

I hope you like my first review :-
God damn this was such a good read. Well now that out of the way imma write why I liked it so much
•I rarely come across good paced romance stories. The only other two I remember are 'angel next door' and 'when neruko and hiria meet' ngl most romance stories even if they start good end up ruining everything by changing the pace but this one is just almost perfect.
•The main couple think like really normal people and make sensible descisions moreover their chemistry is just so good to read
•The side characters are not annoying. Its so hard to find a story where the side characters dont just overly ship the couple or do stupid things. The main friend group is so casual and good. The only time I was a bit annoyed with it was when they blamed nolan later on in the series but it was understandable and resolved quickly.
•The final point is that the supernatural things are not forced like some useless action battles or lore stuff. It just stands as a normal plot point in the story and not overly exaggerated.

I'm not much for slice of life or romance. But I was bored and decided to you click on the novel. The name is what drew me in. I have to say this is one of the best novels I have read. In fact after I was done reading I had to make an account simply so I could leave a review. Really well done story, and pacing. the ending was really good. I like when an author knows when to end it instead of milking it. Again an outstanding novel 5 out of 5.
