Characters
Elaine Caldwell

Tall and muscular and yet still rather feminine, with a pretty face and fluffy light brown hair, Elaine was a soldier for years before the Invasion happened. She had originally joined the army to save money for college but had almost decided to make the army her career before the Invasion forced her hand. She inherited magic from her father, an earth mage who taught her everything he knew about guns, magic and everything outdoors.

A tomboy back in school and then pigeonholed into being the 'squad dyke', Elaine actually considers herself bisexual. However, she was only intimate with a man once before.

Right after the Invasion Elaine was found compatible with Stollos Cypher's project parameters and then underwent treatments to become an Awakener. These treatments made her stronger than a normal human and gave her the ability to strengthen the Soul Shards of those around her. It also had the rather awkward side effect of changing her genitalia from female to male, which she is only now coming to terms with after finding out that none of the people she decided to reveal her secret to seem the least bit bothered by it.

In actuality Elaine had fantasized about growing a penis for years and after finally overcoming the shame of this sudden change she regained the domineering confidence she'd always been known for back before her side effects.

In battle Elaine chiefly wields the crystal magic granted to her by Typhon as well as the slew of M-skills and magics her Shard Bearers give her access to but she also carries an assault rifle and a handgun for emergencies. Though as her power waxes these emergencies happen less and less often.
Alexis Bigsby

An introverted engineering major at MIT, Alexis prefers the comfort of science fiction over socializing with other people. Alexis had her enthusiasm and confidence stamped out at an early age by relentless bullying and now suffers from crippling social anxiety.
The fact that she found herself attracted to women and the resulting heartache from falling for a straight girl didn't help matters.
However, after growing into her power and with the gentle coaxing of Elaine and, increasingly, Ophelia, Alexis is growing more and more confident and comfortable, both with being part of a group of people who rely on her and with the relationship she has found herself in.
In battle she acts as the group's front line, able to zip to wherever she's needed, soak up massive amounts of damage and recover from it and to dish it back out again, using both her light magic and her magical spear Areadbhar.

Ophelia Devereux

Turned into a vampire at the young age of 19, Ophelia has a much different outlook on life than most of her peers. Looked down upon by arrogant pure-bred vampires and unable to relate to most normal humans around her, Ophelia affects a veneer of callousness and sarcasm that just about anyone who spends any time in her presence can see through with ease, revealing the sweet and kind girl behind the facade.
At the same time, what is patently obvious about Ophelia is her incredibly raunchy sense of humor, both crass and juvenile but charming with it. It pairs amusingly with her love of YA novels.
In battle Ophelia acts as the group's mage at first, able to sling spells to both attack and defend and able to heal even grievous wounds in moments.
Later Ophelia acquires skills that turn her into more of an assassin/mage hybrid, able to deal massive damage in close quarters and still capable of slinging spells at range.
Even then she can't withstand damage very well as, once her suit's integrity is compromised and sunlight hits her body, she loses most of the supernatural speed that makes her such a force of nature.
Evelyn Dupree

The spoiled only child of an upper middle class family, Evelyn drifted through life somewhat aimlessly before the Invasion. Studying at university with no clear choice of major in mind and with little interest in what she wanted to do later in life she was still hoping for inspiration to strike when the Invasion happened. And not only was she suddenly faced with horrors from beyond spacetime, she also had to come to terms with the fact that, for the first time in her life, she found a woman attractive. The combined pressure caused her to mess up bad and it took her quite a while to make amends with Elaine, though now that she has she found out that the two of them are extremely compatible both in the bedroom and when it comes to their hobbies.
In battle Evelyn acts as a berserker, able to do catastrophic damage with a reckless fighting style using the blunt impact of her Vajra and the lightning magic she can call up.

Abigail Peterson

Beautiful and tall, Abigail was a moderately successful singer performing at any bar that would have her before the Invasion. She is blessed with a golden voice but cursed with a terrible case of social anxiety, creating an awkward combination of someone who wants to entertain people but doesn't want to be in the spotlight.
When pressed Abigail told Elaine that the reason for her anxiety were the lecherous offers people made her in exchange for helping promote her but that isn't the whole truth. The whole truth is somewhat darker and has something to do with the fact that Abigail never wears clothes that show off her thighs...
After initially alienating Elaine the two of them have finally made up and while they aren't friends quite yet they do trust each other, at least as far as Abigail trusts anyone these days.
In battle Abigail acts as the team's bard, supporting her allies with songs and flinging powerful light and fire magic in between.

Cassius Maxwell

Also known as Cassie Royale, Cassie is a crossdressing streamer focused on video games. From a very young age he enjoyed being mistaken for a girl and deliberately wore the most effeminate clothing he could get away with. His father, continuously disappointed with Cassie's lack of manliness, kept pushing masculine activities on Cassie, like shooting and camping, even going so far as to enlist him in the army when he was done with high school. Despite Cassie's effeminate looks he excelled at all of these, ending up with the best aim in his gun-obsessed family as well as the best outdoors skill of his family.
Even so, none of it ever made Cassie more interested in becoming manly and eventually he moved away from his parents and started crossdressing, first only in private. Soon he graduated to showing off on the internet and the continued positive reactions bolstered his confidence until he started crossdressing full-time, both in private and in public.
When the Invasion happened Cassie was on his way back home from a convention and found shelter in the tiny little town of Albion, New York, where he worked as a waitress until the cult controlling the town revealed itself and imprisoned all the remaining inhabitants. He was saved by Elaine and her team just as he had been about to be sacrificed to a Shoggoth and eventually joined both Project Divinity and Elaine's team.
In combat Cassie acts as the group's paladin, defending his allies from enemy attacks and healing them when necessary.

Jeanne d'Arc

Jeanne is a legend who should need no introduction, or rather the tale of her life is. After her demise she became an angel and, keeping with her reputation as the Virgin of Orleans, joined the service of the Angel Lord of Temperance and Chastity, Venus. It was only then that Jeanne discovered that Venus' work is slightly different than what her title would imply.
Rather than joining the ranks of the Charismatics and granting succor to those who hold to their vows Jeanne instead trained as a warrior. It was only decades after she joined the heavenly host that she lost her virginity after giving in to the crushing loneliness no one had demanded of her except herself.
Ever since then she has trained even harder, rising in Heaven's hierarchy to escape her reputation as a paragon because she feels that when surrounded by those she considers true legends she can fade into the background and not be judged by the impossible standards her reputation has set for her.
Jeanne is particularly competent with time magic though she feels comfortable with just about every element except fire, owing to the horrific death she suffered in the name of her faith.
Rachel Cypher

The first child of man, Rachel is the daughter of Adam and his first wife Lilith, who refused to bow before him and was therefore forced to leave the Garden of Eden while already pregnant with his daughter.
Rachel and her mother walked the earth for centuries, unable to die as neither of them had eaten the fruits of knowledge that made Adam and his other kin mortal. Eventually they both arrived in Hell, where Lilith began a relationship with Lucifer. Over the course of centuries Lilith and Rachel both turned into demons, or at least something almost indistinguishable from demons, given that they technically still have physical bodies.
As the princess of the succubi Rachel's mere presence is hazardous for normal people's self-control and even sanity. Her prolonged presence on earth has tempered this effect slightly but Rachel is still drop-dead gorgeous and exudes pheromones that drive humans and celestials wild.
Rachel is not a fighter by inclination, preferring to negotiate and seduce rather than fight and kill but that does not make her in any way helpless. While her strengths lie in healing magic that same magic can also be wielded to devastating effect in combat, which is to say nothing of her talent for space magic and precognition.
Stollos Cypher

Lucifer is obsessed with finding a worthy successor, one he can hand his life's work over to in the event of his death. Part of this journey led him to conclude that a being that is part human, part angel and part demon could potentially grow stronger than any one of these three. It therefore makes sense that he desires to create a successor who combines all three. And Stollos was the first attempt at this.
Lucifer had a daughter with a human woman. As Lucifer, though fallen, is still an angel their daughter was a Nephilim, a half-angel. He watched over the girl and when she was of age he arranged for her to fall in love with a Cambion, a half-demon. Their child ended up half human, quarter demon and quarter angel, with the angel part coming from Lucifer, who is orders of magnitude more powerful than any mere angel.
This child therefore was staggeringly powerful, the sky his only limit for growth. This child was Stollos. Lucifer was proud to bursting of his grandson. The previous Demon Lord of Despair had seceded a short while ago and so when Stollos had come into his power Lucifer took the opportunity to give Stollos the power he felt his grandson deserved. Except, when he presented the child to Hell's upper society the demons didn't take kindly to this half-human upstart taking the spot so many had been fighting over.
This created a deep-seated resentment within Stollos. His Soul Shard of Typhon, one that had laid mostly dormant thus far, reared its head, finally feeling the embers of rebellion within the young princeling. Stollos, who had been fascinated by all the sciences long before he was told of his circumstances, decided to show the demons that humans were better than them. He worked for years to create ways to awaken the potential his grandfather clearly saw within humanity. Eventually he came up with a ritual that could turn a human into a being more powerful than most demons. Ecstatic about his success he showed his research off to his grandfather.
Except Lucifer wasn't pleased. There were precious few things Heaven and Hell agreed on but one of them was that neither wanted humanity to become any stronger than they were. Humanity's potential truly was something Lucifer believed in but this ritual was so simple that anyone could use it with very little instruction. If this ritual was freely distributed humanity would become a threat for Heaven and Hell's dominion. And so Lucifer told his grandson to destroy this research. Stollos refused. With a heavy heart Lucifer gave him a choice: Renounce his research or renounce his birthright, to be exiled from Hell for all time.
And Stollos chose exile.
Character List I - Base 15 Staff
Stollos Cypher - Head researcher in charge of Project Divinity. Lucifer's grandson, extremely powerful and intelligent. Made peace with Heaven and Hell in order to help save humanity from the Outsiders. Creator of the Oath of Crystal Tears, a way for humans to become as powerful as some of the strongest angels and demons.

Rachel Cypher - Daughter of Lilith, Adam's first wife, and princess of the succubi. Acts as Base 15's head nurse. Lucifer's stepdaughter and thus not related to Stollos, despite the shared last name. Never ate from the tree of knowledge and thus unable to experience shame.

Jeanne d'Arc - Protege of the Angel Lord of Temperance and Chastity and in charge of Base 15's armory. A legend who died a martyr and then proved her mettle in the Fae Wars. The pedestal she has been put on has made her very repressed.

Lieutenant General Francis Hayworth - Nominally in charge of Base 15, though as a mundane mortal he still defers to the rest of the staff on supernatural topics. Hasn't seen his wife in the flesh for seven months and is accordingly pent-up.

Prudence - Ophanim and direct subordinate to Jeanne. High flier in Heaven's hierarchy, owing in part to her military service during WWII and the heroic death she suffered there. Came to Base 15 alongside a group of new recruits that included Abigail Peterson and feels somewhat responsible for her.

Clio - One of the mermaids in charge of Base 15's monitoring division. Sunny and friendly, with green hair and a helpful demeanor.

Jane - One of the mermaids in charge of Base 15's monitoring division. Standoffish and, unusually for mermaids, entirely heterosexual.

Themisto - One of the mermaids in charge of Base 15's monitoring division. A gorgeous redhead with a playful attitude, her siren blood allows her to mesmerize those unaware of her abilities.
Character List II - Base 15 Awakeners' Pantheons
Elaine's Pantheon

Elaine Caldwell – One of the Awakeners. Already a soldier long before the Invasion, Elaine used to be a self-assured badass until Stollos' experiments gave her ten inches of side effects that she was terribly ashamed of until her teammates showed her that she wasn't a freak.

Alexis Bigsby – Engineering major at MIT before the Invasion, now a Shard Bearer of Lugh who functions as Elaine's team's front line.

Ophelia Devereux – Book nerd with a dirty mind who became a vampire at 19. Now she acts as Elaine's team's mage and medic thanks to the powers granted to her by Hecate's Soul Shard.

Evelyn Dupree – Spoiled brat with a Soul Shard of the drunkard thunder god Indra. Drifted through life before the Invasion but has now found purpose as the berserker of Elaine's team.

Abigail Peterson – Terrific singer with the looks of a model, as befits the holder of a Soul Shard of Apollo, the god of beauty and fine arts. Troubled by unwanted attention Abigail is a shy wallflower who nonetheless wants to entertain people with music. In combat she acts as a bard, slinging spells and buffing music alike.

Cassius 'Cassie' Maxwell – Also known as Cassie Royale, Cassie was a streamer before the Invasion, making a name for himself by streaming nerdy video games while crossdressing very convincingly. In combat he uses the ice powers granted by his Soul Shard of Freya to act as the group's paladin, blocking attacks and healing friends.

Jordan's Pantheon

Jordan – Nerdy black guy who was conscripted into Project Divinity right after the Invasion when his Awakener potential was discovered. Over the course of the treatments he became far more muscular than before and also gained an affinity for water magic. Tried hitting on Elaine at first but now they're merely good friends. Loves anime and horror movies and also loves quoting both.

Anna – Mousy brunette with a Soul Shard of Poseidon. Extremely shy and introverted, she has started dating Jordan but he's terrified of rushing her. Can not only use powerful water magic but her Oceanic Dominion skill amplifies water magic in those around her, as well as letting them breathe underwater.

Kotori – Kitsune with a Soul Shard of a being called Tenko-no-Yume that lets her summon two powerful katanas, each with their own special abilities, and allows her to amplify her movements with pure life force. In a relationship with Jordan.

Ashley – Werewolf with a Soul Shard of Arianrhod that allows her to simulate moonlight as well as allowing her to don a suit of powerful armor (which essentially upgrades her Yesod pattern body armor) and summon a gigantic cavalry lance. In a relationship with Jordan.

Marcus' Pantheon

Marcus – Like Elaine he was a soldier even before the Invasion. Smart and competent but also has a tendency to mess up with the details.

Samantha Cole – Hails from the Bible Belt and has a Soul Shard of Artemis that allows her to use a magical bow with uncanny accuracy and the ability to move her point of view around. Gains power from keeping her virginity and has therefore become Marcus' self-proclaimed 'butt slut'.

Tracie's Pantheon

Tracie – Former head cheerleader, now Awakener of Project Divinity. Has a high sex drive but doesn't want to seem too wanton to the slew of attractive guys in her team and so she frequently visits Rachel for some relief.

Alejandro's Pantheon

Alejandro – Got drafted into Project Divinity for his high aptitude as Awakener. Has precisely zero interest in gathering a harem but is now in a happy relationship with one of his team members, the only other vampire at the compound besides Ophelia.

Eliminated

Brandon – Tried to sexually assault Elaine, Jeanne and Alexis. Was executed by Lieutenant General Hayworth. Good riddance.
Character List III - Base 11
Leonardo da Vinci – Ophanim in charge of Project God-Machines. A genius inventor in life and an even more genius inventor in the afterlife, Leonardo's obsession with the human form led him to create humanoid giant robots. Crucially, unlike basically every other time this has been attempted, he actually succeeded.

Jacob Fielder – Leader of Project God-Machines' Unit 01. Synced with the God-Machine that holds the soul of Eos, Greek goddess of dawn. Can summon wings of light from his mech. In a relationship with Faye and Elena.

Faye McDowell – Part of Project God-Machines' Unit 01. Synced with the God-Machine that holds the soul of Flidais, Irish goddess of the hunt. Can summon a bow made of starlight.

Elena Ivanova – Part of Project God-Machines' Unit 01. Synced with the God-Machine that holds the soul of Zvezda, Slavic goddess of night and magic. Has only recently synced with her God-Machine and is therefore unaware of what power her mech can unleash. Seems to feel some sort of resonance with Ophelia's magic, though.

Jude – Known in life as Judas Iscariot, he was the man who betrayed the White Christ for thirty pieces of silver. Hanged himself when he realized what he had done. Now a powerful Ophanim working directly under the White Christ, carrying out his will, not as penance but out of pure faith. Fights by combining light magic with the pouch of silver coins he carries wherever he goes.
Character List IV - IDS
Professor Caulder – Amoral scientist and one of the Uncrowned King's seven vassals. Has power over the Outsiders and has used it to turn the entirety of North America into his personal playground/experiment site. Once aligned with Stollos, the two of them separated because according to Caulder Stollos was too soft to achieve true greatness.

Subject 259 – One of Caulder's more successful experiments. Does monitoring work for Caulder and was sent out to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of one of Caulder's contacts, the Blessed of Shub-Niggurath who terrorized Albion, New York. Currently investigating Project Divinity alongside a team of cyborgs that act as her jailers.

Subject 202 – One of Caulder's experiments. Has been turned into a cyborg dog for the crime of disloyalty. Is currently being used as a puppet by the AI keeping watch over Subject 259.
Nyarlathotep

The Crawling Chaos, the Blight Upon Minds, the Emperor of a Thousand Masks. Well, Nine Hundred and Ninety-Nine now.
Nyarlathotep is the most powerful of the Outer Gods, so powerful that he cannot even act in any one universe without either destroying it or immediately triggering the multiverse's immune response. To be able to act in any capacity he requires his Masks, beings like the Red Lady, the Black Pharaoh, or the Star... well, let's not go there.
The Masks at first seem to be mere avatars, appearances he takes to deal with humanity without driving them mad, but in truth each Mask is its own separate person, each a real being, born within Creation and then dragged Outside through cracks in the world to be molded into a vessel for Nyarlathotep's power. He leaves them just enough free will to be useful, thereby allowing them to fulfill his commands in ways that a consciousness as powerful and alien as him could never fathom.
Nyarlathotep, despite his awful power, does not merely crush his foes. Neither does he corrupt bodies, living or dead, the way Shub-Niggurath and Hastur do. Instead Nyarlathotep corrupts minds, sowing seeds of discord until a world tears itself apart.

Shub-Niggurath

The Black Goat In The Woods With A Thousand Young, the Blight Upon Life, the Dark Mother.
Shub-Niggurath corrupts living bodies, dragging them into a never-ending desire towards a perfect form, one that is undying and can experience all sensations to their fullest. The Dark Mother is the most generous with her gifts, giving even her lowliest followers mutations that soon take them over. Her creatures are often masses of tumorous growths and tentacles, speckled with disconcerting signs of discordant sensuality, such as dragon wings that resemble labia in feel and scent.
The growths she bestows upon living creatures take root inside them in a very literal way, burrowing into their flesh and corrupting them by inches. It takes a certain amount of sentience to survive this process and so most of her creations are doomed to slowly rot and become food for the cankers grafted onto their flesh.
But that is of no concern to her. Any being that cannot survive her attentions is unworthy of them.

Hastur

The King in Yellow, the Corpse Emperor, the Unspeakable, the Blight Upon Death and the Sovereign of Carcosa.
He is not so much an entity as he is a terrible hive mind. His lowliest creatures, the Yellow Wraiths, are controlled by Demi-Liches, who are in turn controlled by Greater Wraiths and so on. A vast network of puppets dancing on the strings held by other puppets. And all of these creations can extend further strings that allow them to control dead bodies.
To become a follower of the King in Yellow is to behold a vast tapestry of bondage that tramples all over free will and then decide to become part of it.

Necromancers

Unlike just about any other form of magic, one cannot be born a Necromancer. Conversely, Necromancy is the only type of magic a mortal can learn without having the ability to touch the Winds of Magic. The reason for this is that Necromancy does not come from the Winds of Magic, it comes from the Outside.
To become a Necromancer one would need to track down a copy of the Necronomicon and study its secrets.
The following information all comes from The Annotated Diary Of Randolph Carter, written by 'Radiant Prism' Kaja, protege of Angel Lord Samuel, Lord of Prudence. This book is Creation's prime source of information about Necromancy, as the very act of reading the Necronomicon corrupts the mind.
From the Necronomicon the seeker will learn that it takes three rituals to gain the powers of a Necromancer. The first is the Tongue of the Ages, then comes the Eyes of True Sight and finally the Sacred Heart.
The Tongue of the Ages involves sacrificing a live goat to Shub-Niggurath, carving out its tongue and eating it raw as one the Dark Mother's appendages reaches through a conjured portal and takes the offering for her to devour.
Superficially this ritual allows the fledgling Necromancer to hear and speak the Outsider tongue. It allows one to perceive the vile words one's ears normally refuse to hear for fear of being driven mad as proper words and it allows one to pronounce those same words. This is necessary in all future interactions with the Outside forces as all other rituals involve a back-and-forth between the fledgling Necromancer and the powers of the Outside.
In truth, however, this ritual ties the Necromancer's souls to Shub-Niggurath, giving her a portion of that person's soul upon their death and, once the Necromancer is able to manipulate Outsider energies, allows them to summon forth the Black Goat's tentacle portals, wormholes that allow a tiny, insignificant portion of the Black Goat to reach through and grasp and shred and crush whatever they can reach.
The second ritual is the Eyes of True Sight. Without going into too much detail, this ritual involves removing a prostitute's eyes and eating them while she is still alive before sacrificing her to the King in Yellow. 'Radiant Prism' Kaja is uncertain of why the ritual specifically requires a prostitute, whether it has something to do with some perceived impurity or whether a prostitute is less likely to be missed and the book is merely trying to keep its host safe.
Either way, this ritual superficially grants the ability to see through Outsider illusions. It is at this point that the fledgling Necromancer will be able to behold the Necronomicon in its true form but by this point their mind will be corrupted so far that this no longer even bothers them.
In truth the ritual ties the Necromancer's soul to Hastur, allowing them to raise undead once they fully come into their powers.
The final ritual is the most despicable, requiring the Necromancer to kill a direct relative and eat their heart before sacrificing the rest to Nyarlathotep.
This ritual appears to grant the Necromancer the ability to control Outsider energy but in truth the change runs much deeper than that. The Sacred Heart ritual turns a Necromancer into a conduit for Outsider energies, a portal that the Outsiders can reach through to manipulate the world. By this point the Necromancer's will is only superficially their own anymore. Either way, the ritual ties the Necromancer's soul to Nyarlathotep and thus allows them to create and manipulate Darklight.
After this the person's transformation into a Necromancer is complete. They are a self-made mage wielding powers other mages only have nightmares about. They have also become a cannibal, a kinslayer and a sociopath hellbent on the destruction of Creation, a puppet to beings more powerful and terrible than mortals can even comprehend.

Items
The Necronomicon
To a mortal observer the Necronomicon appears to be nothing but a book, bound in tanned human skin. Oddly, the Necronomicon will always appear to be written in the language the seeker expects it to be. As the seeker continues to study it, it will imperceptibly change until eventually it is written in the language the seeker is most familiar with.
The reason for this is that the Necronomicon is not truly a book. The entity wears a powerful and elaborate glamour, woven from Outsider energy and therefore impossible to dispel the same way one would dispel a glamour woven from the Winds of Magic. To behold a Necronomicon's true appearance would reduce an ordinary mortal to gibbering insanity.
In truth the Necronomicon is a mass of yellow tentacles coming out of a metallic sphere so black it sucks the light in. As a person sits down to 'read' it, it bores its tentacles into their brain, searching through and twisting their mind to get the person to want to perform the vile rituals necessary to become a Necromancer.
And even this is only a fraction of the true horror, as these tentacle masses that make up a Necronomicon's true appearance are themselves merely appendages of a minor Outer God, the true Necronomicon. This being can only have one or two tendrils in each universe at a time but even that is more than enough to corrupt every universe by inches.
Location
Atlantis
An island that was located halfway between Africa and South America before it sank beneath the waves. Nominally ruled by the Titan Atlas, the actual ruling of the city-state fell to the High Priest of Atlas, the High Priest's family being treated like royalty.
Atlantis was far beyond any other contemporary nation in terms of technology and, thanks to their population's widespread ability to touch the Winds of Magic, was the first and, for centuries, only nation to combine technology with magic, leading to marvelous results other civilizations could only dare to dream of. As an example, the Antikythera Mechanism was a crude imitation of something the Atlanteans showed the Greek.
And yet, despite effectively ruling the most advanced nation on earth, inhabited only by demigods and their serfs, this power was still not enough for the High Priest. So he made a pact with Nyarlathotep. He would summon not just one of the Masks but the entirety of the Crawling Chaos, thereby destroying the universe in short order, and in exchange Nyarlathotep would grant him true divinity.
All the gods alive at the time pooled their powers to stop this from happening and between their intervention and the immense powers the High Priest was working with the entire island sank to the bottom of the ocean.
The Atlantean People
Demigods one and all, every single Atlantean has divine blood running through their veins. They are tougher, stronger and longer lived than humans, almost universally able to touch the Winds of Magic and overall more in touch with their metaphysical selves.
During the High Priest's ritual most Atlanteans died, but not all of them. The General saw the signs and his clan worked hard to evacuate the island, saving many lives. The Atlanteans, sometimes called 'Lloigor', who survived settled all over the world and began to mingle with the population. These Lloigor kept pagan traditions alive wherever they went, fighting against the rise of monotheism. After all, it's hard to believe that there is only one god when you have an entirely different god in your family tree.
Something else that most Atlanteans have in common is a tendency towards unnatural hair and eye colors. It is not unusual for a Lloigor to have blue hair or purple eyes.
Hierarchy of Atlantis
Atlantean titles were hereditary and so the firstborn of any given family would become the successor of the family. However, this is made slightly awkward by the Atlanteans' divine blood, making them long-lived to the point of essentially living forever unless killed. As such it could take hundreds of years for succession to even become an issue.
Either way, at the top of Atlantean society stood three clans. The highest was the High Priest's clan, the second highest was the General's clan and the third was the clan of the head of the Temple Guard, essentially the High Priests' bodyguards.
These days the High Priest's clan and their supporters consider the General's clan traitors for not supporting the ritual that should have destroyed the world.
The General's Clan

Like many Atlantean families the General's Clan's name has been lost to time. For fear of persecution they changed their name again and again, until it bears only the faintest linguistic resemblance to what it used to be. These days their family name has become Silverspark, though there are precious few of these Silversparks left alive. Persecuted by most of the world for being part of the damnable Atlanteans and persecuted by some of those same Atlanteans for being traitors to their cause and evacuating the population during the Fall of Atlantis, the Silversparks these days are powerful fighters one and all, by sheer necessity. Their youngest daughter Esther has taken it upon herself to save the world by slaying the Uncrowned King and his vassals, thereby preventing any more Outsiders from being summoned into the universe.

Hierarchy of Heaven
Heaven is organized extremely rigidly, with very little deviation from the command structure compared to the more lax guidelines of Hell.
At the lowest level are the angels. Any mortal who dies and chooses an afterlife of order, where all follow the law dictated by the all-highest, becomes an angel of this lowest rank and it is from there that they can rise.
Any angel who puts the necessary work in will eventually be raised to the rank of archangel.
Angels and archangels make up roughly 80% of Heaven's population.
Archangels who prove particularly virtuous in one or more ways eventually ascend to the rank of Virtue and are given such a virtue as their title. Some Virtues even choose to take this virtue as their name. Side note, this is not what happened to Prudence. She was named that as a mortal. The Virtue she gained as her title was Fastidiousness, actually.
Virtues who serve faithfully eventually become Hashmallim, or Dominions. However handsome or beautiful the angel was before, rising to this rank will make them even more so. Additionally, in their Higher form Hashmallim are surrounded by orbs of light.
Hashmallim who distinguish themselves to the point of catching the eye of a Lord or one of their proteges are raised to the rank of Ophanim, or Thrones.
The Ophanim are said to be allowed to bask in the presence of the Lord. This is not a metaphor. Or at least it's not just a metaphor. The hierarchy of Heaven is not just conceptual but very much physical as well. The higher your rank, the higher up your living quarters and work area are. As God Himself is located at the very top layer of Heaven that means as Ophanim an angel is significantly closer to Him than the castes below. This is by design, as He is so powerful that His presence is actively hazardous to anything weaker than an Ophanim. But at the same time the idea of the Ophanim being allowed to bask in His presence is very much metaphorical. As they are allowed to study under His most direct subordinates, they are indeed rather close to His will.
Above the Ophanim, and usually picked from the ranks of the Ophanim, are the Cherubim. Not the pudgy angel babies seen in renaissance artwork but instead terrifyingly powerful angels with two pairs of wings. The number of Cherubim is severely limited. The proteges of each Angel Lord (and the proteges of Angel Lord-equivalent beings like Metatron) and the seven Trumpeters.
The proteges, as the name implies, are the direct understudies of the Angel Lords and generally act as their confidantes. They have to be, given that the proteges are the successors of their respective Lords, should the Lord somehow manage to fall.
For the Lords are extremely powerful. Each Lord is a Seraphim, even stronger than the Cherubim, with three pairs of wings in their Higher form and massive power at their disposal. And on top of that they are strengthened by their virtues, in very much the same way a god is strengthened by belief and a Primal is strengthened by their concept being upheld. Every time a Lord's virtue is committed, that Lord grows a little more powerful. On top of that, the Seraphim are capable of not just residing within His presence indefinitely but also to converse with Him directly.
And of course the final thing that makes the Angel Lords so powerful: While He is technically in charge of Heaven, the actual day-to-day ruling falls to the Council of Angels, which consists of all the Lords.
The Lords do not rule by majority decision, however. As Michael frequently puts it, he does not wish them to lower themselves to democracy. Rather, they rule by unanimous consent, finding compromises that satisfy everyone. And because of that, the ability to have a voice within this council is extremely powerful.
Leadership of Heaven
Heaven is ruled collectively by the Council of Angels, the seven Angel Lords. There are a few other Seraphim and while they are not nominally part of the Council, when they do elect to join a council meeting they are afforded all the same rights as the Lords.
The Lords are Michael, Angel Lord of Fortitude, Raphael, Angel Lord of Patience, Gabriel, Angel Lord of Justice, Maria, Angel Lord of Charity, Venus, Angel Lord of Temperance and Chastity, Samuel, Angel Lord of Prudence and Uriel, Angel Lord of Valor.
While there are no distinctions between the Angel Lords, Michael is often seen as a leader and a voice of reason among them. This is in part thanks to his gift of prescience, which allows him to see flashes of the consequences his decisions can have. This gives him the ability to stop decisions that might have disastrous consequences in the long run.
Of course there are also other Seraphim who are not Lords. Metatron, the Voice of God, Sandalphon, the Ear of God and of course the White Christ. There are two other Seraphim, though neither are part of the Heavenly Host any longer. One of these would be Lucifer, the other deserted Heaven a century after the Morning Star and now chooses to protect the Fates from the influence of both Heaven and Hell.
Hierarchy of Hell
Any mortal who, upon death, chooses an afterlife of freedom, where everyone is free to pursue their own values and grab all the power one can take, becomes a demon and is sent to Hell. This is very much not a punishment and Hell is anything but a terrible place. It is a ruthless place where might makes right but it isn't a place of unceasing torture.
Unlike Heaven's rigid structure, Hell's hierarchy is much more fluid. There are the Demon Lords, among the Lucifer, the First Among Betters. Beneath the Demon Lords are the Arch Fiends, who have two pairs of wings, same as the Cherubim. Some of the Arch Fiends act as mayors of Hell's major cities (aside from Pandemonium), some work as aides to the Demon Lords. But there are no clear distinctions other than the ones they give themselves. Beneath these Arch Fiends are all the other demons. No matter how much power they scrape together, if it doesn't suffice to let them grow a second pair of wings they are considered the same as all the other riffraff.
Leadership of Hell
The Demon Lords are Lucifer, Demon Lord of Pride, Lilith, Demon Lord of Lust, Belial, Demon Lord of Wrath, Mammon, Demon Lord of Avarice, Behemoth, Demon Lord of Gluttony, Beelzebub, Demon Lord of Sloth, Leviathan, Demon Lord of Envy and Sammael, Demon Lord of Despair.
Each of them controls a part of Pandemonium, the capital of Hell, a staggeringly gigantic city that houses several billion demons.
Miscellaneous
Gods
If enough belief is directed towards a single point, such as a person or a concept, a god will be born. Such gods have personalities that are malleable like clay, the way their followers think of them influencing their personalities, their abilities and even their histories. At the same time, if such belief wanes, a god can die. Gods can, however, merge with other gods of similar aspects, becoming one being with the thoughts, memories and histories of many and thereby also pooling their waning belief to stave off death.
Should a god die, however, they do not merely disappear. Instead their souls shatter, thereby creating Soul Shards. These shards are not bound by time and space and can therefore create paradoxes like a man becoming a god because he already held a Soul Shard of the god he would become.
Primals
A step above normal gods, Primals do not merely exist through faith but through fact. Each Primal represents an aspect of reality, like Death, Life, Gravity, Time and so on. Such beings are technically gods but their sheer existence and the way we experience their aspect is enough to sustain them, thereby rendering active worship pointless. Any mortal being, through their sheer existence as a mortal, sustains Death, for example.
If a god of a similar aspect is born, that god essentially becomes that Primal's vassal. Should such a god die a Primal might even elect to absorb their consciousness into their own.
As Primals derive their power from an entire universe they are orders of magnitude more powerful than normal gods, who tend to derive their powers from a single planet's population at most.
The Primals, collectively, are therefore extremely confused as to how the White King is orders of magnitude more powerful than them in turn.
The White King
God, YHWH, Jehovah, Allah, Brahman, The Alpha And The Omega, The King Of Kings, The Father, all of these are names for Him and yet all of them fail to grasp the sheer significance of Him.
The name, the White King, implies no race nor skin color. Such concepts are beneath a being as great as Him, for He created us, all of us, in His image. The name instead refers to light and truth and all things holy, just as the names of Nyarlathotep imply darkness and lies and all blasphemies.
The reason He is so powerful is that, unlike almost every other being in the multiverse, He is a singular in a sea of plurals. He exists not once in each universe but once, period. In a very real sense the White King IS the multiverse, each universe, ever-expanding and functionally infinite as it is, merely a cell in His divine body.
When Lovecraft beheld the being he called Yog-Sothoth, a being that at once engulfs all of Creation while also beholding all of Creation, what he actually saw was the White King, a being so vast that to even call our existences insignificant by comparison would be giving us too much credit.
This is also why Heaven is ruled by the Council of Angels. He simply cannot focus on every individual universe, electing to focus his attention on the ones that need Him the most, which usually means the ones that are on the brink of destruction, usually by the Outsiders.
Knights
Each god, be they normal gods, Primals or even the White King Himself, can grant Knighthood to up to three individuals, giving them enormous power in the process. The pool of power available to each god is fixed, however, so the fewer Knights they choose the less ways the power has to be split. Beings like Lucifer prefer to keep only a single Knight around so that one individual gets all the power.
Thanks to a loophole in this system Nyarlathotep is able to choose Knights as well, unfortunately.

The story is very typical haremlit, except the MC is a woman, and she isn’t hang up on coming out on top in every intimate interaction. Now, I’m only partly a fan of haremlit. I enjoy the progression fantasy aspect of things, and I like the weight that romance is given in the stories. I’m not a huge fan of the polyamory trope within haremlit, because the authors just don’t put in the effort to flesh it out, so it feels like it’s done for convenience’s sake. I also don’t like the shaky worldbuilding and breakneck pacing prevalent in both the subgenre and this particular story. This fic has the major pros and cons common to haremlit, so if you enjoy books by Bruce Sentar, you’ll like this one.

This book is very fun, plot is interesting, setting is cool, characters are fun and believable and their dynamics are great.

It's wonderfully written with both excellent combat and smut, and I find myself incredibly drawn in to the events of the story.

    Keep up the good work!

The story is great, the smexy times are hot, the references are deep and while the author pissed me of a little with a Dresden files reference I believe he is a good enough writer to make it. Read the tags as some may find some things off-putting if just looking for "pure" GL. 5 stars from me.

The world plot and setting are very cool. The writing style is good and flows well. The characters are interesting and multifaceted. Maybe I might pick it up again someday but the trap stuff ruined it for me. I knew what I was getting into beforehand, it’s just the way it’s done here is a big turn off. They should have been introduced as maybe the 1st or 2nd member, not the 6th. All the build up with the other members just seems to fall to the wayside because of the trap. And the excuse given by the author I also didn’t like. (I’ve written too much to redo it)
