I love magical girls and I love dorky demons and and all kinds of sapphic romances, including the desastrous ones! Which means, this story is just perfect. 😁
edit: After way too long, because of distractions, I finally got back into reading and actually finishing the story, and... yeah! It's extremely good with a great, chaotic mix of silly and serious. Read it!
An actress in our midst! has been a very enjoyable story. Another take on the classic Magical Girls vs Demon Invader group.
The plot and story progression has been fun, with our main cast slowly learning more about this weird conflict. Speaking of cast. Jessica is great, so is her demon minions, but Jessica has been a really enjoyable protag to experience the story through.
The story follows Jessica as she grows stronger, attempts to sabotage, and learn more about the inner workings of this conflict.
Yeah... Don't know what else to say. Give it a read.
Well its bottled chaos so I went in expecting a 5/5, was pleasantly surprised despite that. Nice and fun read about idiots interacting with other idiots and noone the wiser. Also magical girls and bad guys. Would read again.
I really liked this one despite disliking magical girl media otherwise, I'm glad I gave this a shot. Anyway onto the more "professional" review.
An actress in our midst is an exquisite and refreshing novel, the main protagonist is also one of my favorites personality wise. The side characters are also written pretty well overall.
I really am not that good at writing reviews but one thing for sure, this is a read you won't regret.
Oh wow! This is one Rollercoaster ride. The fact that this all happened because Jessica really needed a distraction is both hilarious and relatable. Crazy.
It’s rare to find a magical girl novel that isn’t some sort of dark fantasy or a smut these days. The story and characters are decent enough to keep you around for more even if some of the characters have trouble putting 2 and 2 together
Every year, on the same day, people across the world awaken new powers. They take the first step on the path to becoming Super Heroes… or Villains.
Emily Wright wants nothing to do with any of that. All she wants is to get her degree
After falling to his death, he wakes up with two bodies?!
Reincarnated as both a humble commoner boy and a privileged young noble girl, our protagonist enjoys their new chance in life with two different perspectives. Although they only wish
Ivil Antagonist has everything a woman could want. Power enough to blanket out suns and turn worlds into molten hells, a fleet of warships at her command, and the fear of an entire space-faring nation.
But she’s silently growing tired
“He who fights with harem tropes should see to it that he himself does not become a harem protagonist. And if you gaze for long into a narrative, the narrative gazes also into you.” ~ Friedrich Nietzsche (…probably?)
