Calla Frosthaze is a minor character in 'Fire & Ice', a typical YA fantasy novel, who dies in one of the villain's schemes to kill the main protagonist. This is the body that Cale transmigrates into suddenly and without warning.

Because of a long history of illness, despite his age, Calla is still a student at Aurelis Academy – a place to study elemental magic. 

Valerio Hallow teaches Offensive Magic at Aurelis Academy. He's the hidden main villain in the book 'Fire & Ice' and always has about four schemes going on in the background. He's a surprisingly good teacher.

Julius Claymore is a follower of Sayer, and always has mean things to say about anybody and anything. At fifteen, he's a prodigy in his field, not that this is well known due to his antagonistic attitude. 

Sayer Frosthaze is the main character of the book 'Fire & Ice'. He's a powerful fire mage and has the standard tragic background of a YA fantasy protagonist. He is the adopted son of Isaac Frosthaze's younger brother, making him Calla's adopted cousin, though they aren't biologically related. Rather, Sayer is the biological half-brother of Valerio, the main villain.

Magdalena Nightgrove is a minor character in 'Fire & Ice'. She's a childhood friend of Calla's and at one point was considered to be his marriage partner. In the end, her father got a better offer and she married a defense attorney. 

Mariana Frosthaze is the mother of Calla. She's of noble heritage and loves her son dearly, wishing only the best for him.

Isaac Frosthaze holds the Frosthaze lordship and is the Viscount. He's the husband of Mariana and the father of Calla. 

Harald Hawthorne is Cale's tutor and an old man in his sixties. The man doesn't appear in 'Fire & Ice' so hardly anything is known about him.

The Gatekeeper is the son of an ancient earth spirit and a human woman. Thousands of years old, the Gatekeeper is magically tied to Aurelis Academy. When the villain attacked in 'Fire & Ice', the Gatekeeper was able to transfer a large portion of his power to the protagonist so he could win, leading to the Gatekeeper's death.

The earth spirit was then so angered that he attacked Sayer (the protagonist) directly and was defeated after a long-drawn-out battle. This caused a series of severe earthquakes until a new earth spirit was born. The identity of the new earth spirit was never revealed. 

The most prestigious academy in the country, it sits on a mountain and is a renovated old fortress. It has a gothic air to it and is the home of the Gatekeeper, a cheat character in 'Fire & Ice'. This school has produced many famous and well-known people over its centuries of existence. Valerio teaches Offensive Magic at the school.

Fire & Ice is the book that Cale transmigrates into. It tells the story of how Sayer Frosthaze goes from a homeless child to one of the most powerful people in existence. As it's told from his POV, a lot of things are glossed over leading Cale to discover many surprises. One of the key things in the novel is that everyone has elemental magic, even if it's not much.
