The rise of a young Fire Nation commander Xing, a survivor of a village attack-turned prodigious firebending colonel of the Fire Nation's 11th Regiment.
Taking place not long before canon, Xing seeks to keep his adoptive family in the Fire Nation military as safe, sound, and sharp as he can, even as the pieces of the puzzle that is the main story start to fall in place around him, the biggest of which is Princess Azula joining the 11th in their military duties around the Earth Kingdom.
Extremely well written. I’ve read it three times now and enjoyed every read.

Main plot complete as of this chapter (140). Only side stories/plots left.
This is a great written work! A bit gory at times but not excessively so considering the context of war. It is satisfying to see the character changes occur from the original plot in a believable way. MC is OP, but not because he is the strongest. If you would like to see a more grounded approach to the warfare and politics in Avatar, then this is your jam.

This is a great story that uses less relevant characters and OCs to great effect. Things alternate between dark and wholesome regularly.

This is one of the best as far as fanfics go, but the MC is a bit of a Mary Sue: he never loses (even when he’s forced to retreat he somehow comes out looking good) and basically all character POVs mention how incredible/terrifying he is, it’s not unrealistic for the setting though, Avatar is full kids who surpass master combatants in a short time (Katara is the worst offender who goes from self taught amateur to the strongest water bender in a year), the MC is one such genius who has been busting his ass in preparation years before the main storyline
PS: Xing doesn’t care about canon and as of chapter 48 is indirectly keeping Aang at bay so that there’s no interference on his pl

This was an accidental find but man do I regret binge reading it in like 2 days uggh. I highly recommend this book, the intruige, character interactions, plots and side stories are FANTASTICALLY done and don't leave you disappointed. The ending feels a quick, I would have loved to have read and seen more about the future but it leaves me imagining what could have happened so I guess it'll have to make due. Definitely looking forward to more stories from thus author, keep it up!
