"With a comfortable onesie, and the ability to stop time, anything is possible."
Dragons, Catgirls, Guns, and Magic. Oh, and the ability to stop time. What more could a modern gal want?
Well... If my past would stay locked in a dark corner back on Earth, that'd be nice.
Right. There was that one other thing. Finding a way home before the world ends. But hey, that's what my mom would call the last step in your five year plan.
The first?
To play with magic.

This is a rewrite based on oodles of feedback from readers over on Royal Road.
*LitRPG-Isekai start with a return to Earth to stop the System apocalypse goal.
I like it.
Solid core of main characters for the group. A MC who is likeable.
I'll ignore the system because.. As usual it really doesn't matter. There are numbers, they can ask be safely skipped over when they come up.

Alright, so let me begin by saying that this is probably one of my favorite stories on ScribbleHub right now. Part of that might be the consistent updates - easy to keep a story at the forefront of your mind when you can reliably predict the next chapter's incoming. But even among the many daily update stories I read, this one truly does stand out to me.I think what draws me in most is the characters. I mean, I enjoy every bit of the story - the plot is engaging, the stakes are high, and I'm enjoying the innovative takes on the system, and time travel. But it's my love of the characters that has me reading each update almost as soon as it releases. I want to see what they do next. And what happens to them, as a result - because the MC definitely has a few issues when it comes to thinking ahead.
Of course, that's part of what I love about her. In fact, I think that encapsulates why I enjoy the story so much, in general - the fact that Alexis can enjoy the wonders of magic, and the adventure she's on, without losing sight of her end goal. She gets sidetracked a lot. Leaps before she looks, and maybe needs a talking to about priorities. But I can say with surety that I wouldn't enjoy this story nearly so much if she was desperately barreling toward the end goal. Long story short, this is a fun tale, with a comedic undertone, that balances out the serious nature of its plot with a lighthearted character. If you want a story that's heavy on the drama, but light on the angst (there's some of it, but it's not ever-present) then I think you'll enjoy this.
(Also, there's cat girls. Just saying.)

This story is aggravating. Glacially slow, every decision gets over analysed and procrastinated away if possible. The MC gets nerfed repeatedly and that without reason. All characters are overly emotional and sensitive (more like adolescents on crack than the adults they are supposed to be) , the MC is even genuinely mentally ill. Most chapters can be skipped without missing anything. I wanted this story to be good, but it isn't.

I absolutely LOVE this story! The characters are engaging, the emotions are vivid, and the magic is just so fascinating. I think the magic system and System (s) are well built and leave a ton of room for flexibility too!
The only sad part is the fact that the bun isn't showing up more often! /J
I'd have to say overall that my favorite part is the interactions between characters and how they react to drama and secrets.

This story is one I always look forward to reading, and doing so always makes my day just that little bit brighter.

I thought the first few chapters seemed hauntingly familiar, and it turns out I already dropped this on RoyalRoad like 3 years ago when it was published under the title To Play With Magic.
The issues I had with the MC and the initial setup of the system, world, and characters have not been resolved in this version, if anything has been changed at all. In short it is an inconsistent mess with the MC making choices that do not make sense given her personality and very recent personal history, and which also notably and obviously are to her immediate detriment in this scary new world she finds herself in; for example, having no concern about and taking no steps to mitigate the fact she literally starts with -20 (as in 20 below zero) strength stat. On top of that, none of the other characters have any real depth nor are they likeable; and the MC is only barely likeable due to pity at her life situation.
Do yourself a favour and skip over this story.

When I read that this is a revised version, I expected that the beginning would be the best part of the story. Well... If that's the case, then I'm afraid to imagine what will happen next.
Anyway, perhaps the work is not the worst, although obviously not 5 stars, but my personal preferences were not satisfied.
1) I love the female protagonist and Yuri mix. But here it will be more like girls having fun than some intense romance.
2) I love unique and thoughtful systems (and its impact on the world). - Here it seems pretty basic, although with a couple of fancy sides.
3) And apparently, this is a typical mix of fantasy and Sci-Fi... Absolutely hate that.
4) And adventures in the predetermined team. Not my cup as well. I prefer solo protagonist who is finding some companions along the way.
