A boy by the name of Josh is forced to move after his junior year in High School to a faraway place in the suburbs. He was forced to change school, and state, taking him far from his friends.
After one year of being painfully lonely, he learns of the new full dive gear being released by Penumbra Inc. Not wanting to spend the summer wasting his life away alone, he is eager to play the accompanying game Order and Chaos: Magical Awakening, which supposedly teaches skills applicable in real life.
Little did he know just how important this game would become for both himself and the rest of the world.
What to expect:
- This will be a coming-of-age story; characters will mature and change over time
- There will be romance. However, it will not be a large focus of the story, more of a side element
- This story lacks a LitRPG tag for a reason, do not come in with the expectation of numbers. If at all possible, there will not be a system interface at all
- This story will build up the characters and the world they live in, be prepared for both
- The MC will be the main viewpoint of the story. I do intend there to be some peaks outside of this for the purposes of both the world and character building, but they shouldn’t be too often
- I do not intend this story to wholly focus on the gender-bend; it's a character trait, not THE character trait.
- This story is a power fantasy, but it is one that is heavily reliant on character growth for any real power
- It shouldn’t be too dark, particularly for the first few arks. However, when a particularly important event happens… well, let's just say there is a reason why it’s important
- this story will be cute at times; it will have moments of deep introspection; it will go to dark places; it will have loving and caring moments; and it will have all the important moments in between

Warning: insecure author ramblings below, read at your own peril
Fair warning: I think this story will be fun, I have plans for it… but those plans are intentionally vague. This is because I have a tendency to plan out story ideas that seem really good, I’ll add lots of detail and make a really cool magic system. Then I will believe that the story concept is really good… And then will be afraid that I can’t live up to the potential of it. As such I have ensured that this story had no such problem by writing the first chapter the same day I wrote the concepts underlying the story. This does not mean that I don’t know where the story is going, it means that I know snippets of where it will go, as well as some events that will happen, but how they come together is for both you and me to discover.
With all that said, I think I have cooked up something interesting, if maybe a little less unique than I like my stories to be. Though it’s still petty different and incorporates some of the basic concepts I’ve developed over the years to differentiate from the pack. So I hope you're willing to come along for the ride, and if the warnings scare you, well I hope you’ll find you’re way back when this book manages to succeed (I hope)!
With all that in mind, I hope you're ready and want to read.
See you in the first chapter!
