Synopsis

The top percentage Rattata was a legendary existence never before proven to work in the highest levels of professional battling, or any level of professional battling to be honest. But, Joey, a reincarnated youngster, was willing to pull all the stops into making this dream a reality and make his partner ascend into the realm of champions. A pre-canon self-insert.

It's still early, but this story is off to a very promising start.
The MC is competent, funny, ambitious, and generally pretty cool.  Also, pleasantly, he isn't supposed to be some kind of uber prodigy, unlike a lot of other poke-fic MCs.  His knowledge mostly comes from an early interest in pokemon training, thanks to his status as a reincarnated adult, rather than the bizarre scenario where a total outsider somehow knows more about the world than the people living in it.  I love how, other than his ambition and precocious maturity, Joey is very ordinary (and that's in spite of being part ghost type, lol).
The MC does have a bit of a super power (having ghost type energy as a result of dying in another world), but it isn't portrayed as necessarily being special or unique beyond measure.  He might (but I suspect not) be the only human with ghost type energy, but it's made clear that psychic type humans are relatively common, and possibly other typed humans as well.  It doesn't give him "omg haxor" powers or whatever, and so far has mostly served to get him out of a few scrapes, and help him train his pokemon.  I'm hoping it stays that way, tbh.
Anyway, so far this has been a very down to earth pokemon story, the exact kind of thing us normies might expect if we were to suddenly find ourselves thrust into that world.  If it stays that way (within allowance for some adventure, of course), then this will prove to be the exact kind of poke-fic I've long been searching for.  I'm glad someone finally wrote it :D

Nothing is ever perfect, but this is close. Great quality writing, well researched word building, a dash of mystery, with a whole lot of heart.

The m.c is intelligent, pragmatic, and relatable. The world is a bit grittier than one would expect, which I like.

This story is blasting off, don't miss it!
